NYC has thousands of apartment dwellers who would love to spend a day on the water fishing. Think rentals a great idea, and of course, guided fishing trips too.
I think the rental business is smart. Fishing as a recreational sport has been thriving ever since Covid and more and more people are looking for a cheap, easy way to get to prime fishing grounds. Go for it!!
Bro I think its a great idea! I would love to take one out! I have only been Saltwater fishing w Spinning gear for the last couple years. Been fly fishing my whole life. But since last fall Ive fallen in love with surfcasting. I have the GNRA parking permit so I do most of my fishing at Breezy Point. I really dont know any spots on the South Shore. Learning which beaches are public and have parking has been tough. But I would really love to go out on the Kayak. I'm thinking about getting my own So trying it out would be great! Let me know about the rental. And any suggestions for Jetties on the South Shore or good spots from the Surf would be really appreciated! And if there is anything that you want to know about Flyfishing just hit me up. I'd be glad to help.
Fishing expos…..the browns ones made buy lamiglas are discontinued and can only be bought from someone who owns one, the green one is made by COUSINS who picked Rob Arra up after lamiglas and him parted ways…
Yo Sky… skip the rental biz,….you will make much more money finding used yaks, outfitting them for fishing and flipping them for profit. If you avoid the greed and keep your prices grounded to planet earth (unlike these dreamers asking $4k for a 5 year old Hobie), you will flip them immediately. Honestly, you would not have the kayak inventory, reputation or insurance the bigger shops have. If anything, you may be better off running a small yak guide service like Elias used to do. Catch ‘em up brotha.
I think the big issue with kayak rentals will be liability. A novice can get into a lot of trouble out there. That said, I'd love to be able to rent a pedal drive.
Another great video! Love your stuff bro! I’m always tuned in!!!
