I didn't read all the comments so perhaps someone has already mentioned it, but this song is the most used song at weddings in Japan. Taka wrote it for a friend who was getting married.
They often sing this song with an acoustic arrangement so it's interesting that you reacted to one of the few performances where they sang it in the original arrangement. It's a great power ballad.

this is really an old recording, around the time that I first discovered them. This song was written for a friends wedding, so when you said it should be like a first dance song, it was spot on!
Taka literally feels the sentiment of the lyrics of the songs they sing/write whereas Toru (LG), Ryota (BG), and Tomoya (drums) do the same to the rhythm of their music. That's how they manage to create these masterpieces. They've been open about their struggle sometimes when it comes to their international songs bc it'd take some time for them to connect their emotions and the song. That's what I really love about ONE OK ROCK. They write music not because they just have to release something but because they have something to say. ❤️

This song has so much versatility because it can be a happy love song (a more upbeat happy version), a romantic love song (this version) and a very, veryyy sad love song (there’s a live stage piano version of this song in utube). I’ve listened to all of them and I’ve felt happy, in loved and heartbroken + cried in every version 😅

Don't know how this reaction flew under the radar, just came from the Ending Story?? reaction. Definitely one of my favorite OOR songs and the first song containing non-English lyrics that I learned completely. Every version is incredible, Taka manages to stretch this to nearly 10 minutes in the piano version and it really just pulls at the emotions!

Yes..this is my fav song :) please react to my next fav song Hard to Love. Its a song he wrote for his father when he was rebellious and ran away from their broken home and refused to take any help (money) from his father. There is also an apology song like this which is called 'nobody's home' which is hard rock and tells about his desparate teenage life from his designed-childhood life and stiff father. Taka is quite broken and rebellious but which turned for the better. He followed his heart and stood up with the help of his members. They went to America to become one of the American bands there. Thankfully, they are talented and now his father is so proud of him and they always keep in touch.
