    You do realize that you're contributing to my delinquency, right? Now I'm hooked on wax seals, making faux onion skin paper, using up fabric to make envelopes and creating even more bizarre bits and pieces my kids are going to be scratching their heads over if I don't use them all up..."Yep, Mum lost it for sure. Look at all these little pieces of cut out images..." "how many glue guns? why?" "So THAT'S where the baking paper went"...Joking aside, thank you so much for sharing your processes so clearly. I really appreciate everything you do.

    Just a tip that not everyone know and you were looking for a bit more glam, is that gold leafing or gilding just sticks to hot glue and can be sealed clear gloss or matt nail polish happy crafting🥰😃

    Hi Natasha, I just watched a video where the lady used rubbing alcohol on her wax stamp, and it peeled off easy and perfectly! Just wanted to let you know, in case you hadn't seen it. She just sprayed the alcohol on the base of the stamp (in your case, a coin, etc) and it peeled off the glue so nicely! I watched your video a while ago, and loved it! Thanks!

    Lovely especially the dried flowers,my faves.I love your posts and have gained many ideas from them in the past thanks.
    I have used glue gun myself but instead of cooling my plain stamp end instead of coin I used a quick spray of rubbing alcohol. It makes glue dry much clearer and they come off clean and easy too

    I've done the faux seals using hot glue with dried flowers before, but, as usual, you have taken the idea to a much higher level. Stickers, images, etc., are such wonderful ideas. And how to use them on envelopes, clusters, ribbon underneath - what great uses. I love them all, Natasa!

    Love this idea! I did hear if you want to avoid bubbles you should turn off your glue gun periodically and let it cool as glue being too hot is what causes bubbles. You always have great projects! Keep ‘em coming! 😊

    I really like how you did this & can't wait to give it a try. Thank you for sharing.
    I have a degree in Geology & was very interested in how you got the seal to be clear. The same thing happens in nature. A quick cool down causes a hot material to have a finer crystallization. There is no time for formation of crystals, so the material becomes a hard clear material. For example, if lava cools super fast, it becomes volcanic glass. There aren't any visible crystal in volcanic glass. However, if molten rock cools very slowly, like it does under ground, it becomes a granite. The crystals have more time to form & thus, you can see the individual mineral crystals in the rock. I am thinking that's what is going on with your seals. Thought I'd just share that in case anyone was interested in the why.
    Have a lovely weekend. Sue ♥

  • @KathyRoth5
    @KathyRoth5 2 года назад +1

    I tried this today. I had to use a silicone mat because my waxed paper must be really cheap. I could not get the seal off of it. I used dried flowers and I put a smear of Art Glitter Glue (dries clear and fast) on the flowers on the back because they are exposed and would flake off if stored improperly. I also had a mixture of glue sticks and some dried a little cloudier than others. I really like the very clear glue sticks. Very fun-thank you!

    Another super easy decorative project to pre make Natasia, you can make and use these in so many different ways, thankyou for showing us how. They are banning plastic glitter in the Uk too, but we can now get glitter made from natural materials, so for those of us who like a bit if glitz, there is an alternative. Also, if you die cut intricate designs from foils etc, you are left with an abundance of tiny glittery bits, you can use those too, just tried and it worked. Have fun and stay safe. Love n hugs from Victoria 😘👍💐

    I recently cut out an article about how the glitter in makeup is harmful to our water supply. I found the article to be quite interesting. I am a eyeshadow fanatic and I never considered (until now) how harmful glitter is.
    I am new to junk journaling and this video helps me to improve on my journals. Thank you very much 😊💜

    • @221b-Maker-Street
      @221b-Maker-Street 2 года назад

      Yes, the glitter made from plastic derivatives is very harmful to water courses, you're right Cheryl. Microplastics do a _lot_ of harm... Thankfully though, there are some superb _biodegradable glitters_ available now, so there's no need to compromise our art while being environmentally aware (my pal is a vegan MUA and uses the most *amazing* bio glitters in her work).
      There's also no good reason (other than greed 🙄) for manufacturers to continue churning out damaging plastic glitter any more - I hope it is soon banned altogether. Enjoy your journalling journey!

      Thanks for the reminder. I keep forgetting to pull them out for things like this.
      My little tip, is when you hand cut a circle and you have one or two areas misbehaving, I use large nail clippers to nip off the little sticky-outies.
      Actually, I now have 3 different sizes in my craft room. Toenail clippers, regular nail clippers and baby nail clippers. I find the baby nail clippers the easiest to use for accuracy and they have the tightest radius for making things circular.

      Yes, even the bits sealed in the hot glue will probably get into the environment eventually, even decades or centuries later. I'm glad crafters are getting the message (bless Natasa for her comments on this), and would also support a ban. I know it can look pretty, but who needs it, really?

    I will definitely be digging out my glue gun and gathering up some bits to make some of these seals. I really enjoyed seeing how you've used them in different ephemera pieces to make them extra-special. Thanks for the inspiration yet again, Natasa!
