That idea of what head gear is actually meant for us why amateur boxing has seen a reduction in punch output. Boxers are no longer running in using head guards as a crash helmet to take shots to give shots. Amateur boxing is more technical now and I love to see it.
A brilliant video. You can't emphasize the point enough with regards to a boxers defence. It MUST be secondary to rely on the face bar to protect yourself. The PRIMARY defence will always be an improvement to techniques such as blocks, dodges, parries & rolls 👊🏻👍🏻 ps you look better with your face covered 😂😂😂👊🏻💥😁
Been a fan of your videos for a very long time, great content. In this video the sting headgear looks small compared to the rest. Is this true as i cant decide between the sting, rival and cleto reyes traditional. The rival seems like a huge target competitively.
I really think that one day Poly Carbon Anti Fog clear shield can fill the gap of facesavers, the gap is that they are great but they make you easier targets. They are best friend of counter fighters, literally Jab Lovers!
Hi. Can you tell something about the size of Winning headgear? Im considering but not sure. My had is 57.8cm and Im not sure what to take. M or L. My head are about the same yours as I can see on video. So will really appreciate an advice!!!
I bought Cleto Reyes facesaver pointed version. But I am not sure how tight should I strap the chin belt, because when I lower my chin in it, the chin strap is pushing on my adam apple and when I get hit it applies pressure on it which makes me unconfortable. How tight chin strap should be tightened?
After quite some sparrings I've noticed that the tighter I strap it the more it applies pressure on my neck and if I get a hard hit on the bumper it will resonate on my Adam apple which causes me pain. If I loosen the chinstrap headgear becomes a bit looser as well, but it won't cause as much pain on my neck as before. I am wondering to sell it and buy Winning FG5k eventually. Hope it will be useful for someone.
@@Chris-wu5db I just tried my friends and noticed the same but I didnt spar in it. The rival fits very similar but bar is close to nose. What I noticed is you have to tilt the headgear up so it sits further toward end of chin on the Reyes. But try and see, just tuck your chin so the chin isn’t exposed.
@@Chris-wu5db btw just ordered the sting one due to the interior lining, aluminum frame, and overall smaller size of target vs the winning. Hope it works for me because heavy hitters isn’t any good with Velcro back and is huge.
@@Jaydogg209 hope it fits you well. Don’t know how it is in your country. But in mine I couldn’t find any facebars in physical shops. So couldn’t try them on. Recently I’ve been reading a lot of reviews on Winning and it seems it’s OG in facebar headgear game. But the price tag is savage. As per my Cleto Reyes, nothing changed, I just don’t strap the chin buckle as tight. Works well with guys in my weight range. But if heavyweights tag me directly on the bar then it’s no bueno.
@@Jaydogg209 glad to hear you found a good headgear that fits you. Hope it will serve you well. You can get hit on the nose occasionally in Cleto Reyes as well.
The heavy hitters in gold with the Velcro back sucks! It sticks way out makes head huge target and the strap gets loose during use, total waste . Hope you didn’t buy it, I wasted my money. I just ordered the sting one. Tried my friends rival one and the bar is very close to nose and the Reyes one you have to angle it up so the strap sits flush. The rival Also has large ear holes for comfort and seems to fit my head the best. Hope the sting one fits good when it arrives.
@RishiSharma-du6im yes the Sting headgear fits more snug for sure. There's a lining on the inside that keeps it in place too. Once I got the sting headgear it was so much better than using someone else's. Improved my sparring. There's barely any movement when you get hit so your jaw won't hurt like those loose fitting ones when you get rocked. 🤣
For the Fly facebar headgear, is it normal for it to not be touching my my cheeks until I mold the aluminum cage around my face over time? I went with the Large based on my head measurement, and it feels comfortable around the top of my head and around my ears, but I did notice that the sides don’t touch my cheeks like my Everlast competition cheeks headgear does (same size)
I'm still waiting for the see-through face bar. The first one to do that will make bank!

Do you have a review on the new fly knight headgear. I was intrested in it but I have seen no reviews on it. I have a winning fg2900 and love it
Thanks for the vid, not enough vids about this on RUclips

thank you nice review. How was visibility for rival headgear? I wonder that parts. Can you tell me? in case with others ??
Thankyou best in terms of vision was the Noble headguard then rival the others are very similar in terms of vision
I'm just gonna buy an old Chicago Bears Football Helmet To Spar In lol
Great review and advices.
My head 23 inches what size would you say I should get for a headguard
Depends on the bran but generally I’d say large
But check with the actual brand for their correct sizing for their headguards
Have you tried the ringside deluxe face saver headgear?

If it does you can manipulate the sides to give more nose room👊🏼👍🏼
Like the sting back velcro and I also winning Chin strap do you know one that has both in one
