- Michael Gove stood in Parliament today to give his landmark speech about extremism. Sadly, he missed the mark. All right-thinking people stand against violence and hate. But Gove dropped the ball when it came to the roots of "Islamism." He failed to connect it with the religion of Islam and waffled about the religion of peace. The reality is that the only way to save our country is by turning to Christ and forming a political movement that will win elections and take our country back peacefully. The answer is found in the teachings of Christ and the democratic process, not in appeasement and lies to the British people.
Thankyou Richard for an excellent summary historically and currently. I completely agree with you that it was not the Enlightenment but Protestant Christianity that made us great and settled.
The Enlightenment has produced the Atheism and Deism in which the west now lives and breathes. Learning from history we can't look back in our nation's history to a time when Islam reigned so we have to look at the horrors other nations have suffered in their history with Islamic takeover. Lebanon has some stark similarities to our great land and we ought to learn from it. Lebanon a once thriving christian land, wonderful economy and universities, banks trusted all over the world. The Paris and Switzerland of the East. Look at it now. A basket case. Un-ruleable due to multicultural groups all wanting their own way. Ask any sound minded Lebanes who lived prior to 1965 and also before 1990 "Is Diversity your strength"? They'll say Christianity was our strength.

As a young child I was told the message of god as this was standard , been born in 1978 I saw the old world 🌍 and was apart of the new .
In my teenage years I didn’t realise Christianity was under attack I spent a good 30 years myself turning my back on it but I also within the last 10 years started to understand that morality had gone down the drain . I find myself now in a world where I have invested myself with 4 children and taken on 3 with 8 grandchildren. I know how Britain was and I don’t see it how I remember,not only that but my personal investment incudes along with my wife 16 souls this does not include my parents and other good honest families across our green and pleasant land of all religions colours and creed . Your question is am I ready ? . The answer frankly is no , but I will tell you this I am willing to get my finger out of my arse as fearful as I maybe and stand and be counted for because if we loose what I and many other have taken for granted for so long then what are we .

I've had my doubts about Douglas Murray. He says things that we can all agree with, and I've even read a couple of his books, but I think he is a Pied Piper meant to lead people astray from the true faith. I wish there was a debate between Douglas Murray and Rupert Sheldrake, and maybe yourself - Sheldrake wrote the book "The Science Delusion" as an antidote to Dawkins' "The God Delusion". Sheldrake is a Cambridge professor in the Life Sciences. He does psychical research into animal behaviour and also professes his christian faith.
