  • This video introduces a Small Office Home Office, SOHO, Network Attached Storage, NAS, server that can serve as your on-premises Cloud solution. All you need is a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5 and a higher capacity mass storage device which can be either a Solid State Drive, SSD, or a conventional Hard Disk Drive.

For the Raspberry Pi 4 connection, the USB 3.0 interface is most popular. For the Raspberry Pi 5, there is the PCIe (certified for Gen 2.0 speed) interface for one M.2 SSD but adapters (as of January 2024) are still not readily available for consumers. The prototypes are from manufacturers who want social media promotion. The Raspberry Pi Foundation has published the specs for the PCIe interface at datasheets.raspberrypi.com/pc...
Use the following command to change the boot order:
    sudo rpi-eeprom-config -edit
    N.B.
Please use either Raspberry Pi 4 or 5 for your Nextcloud solution. I had an original Nextcloud Box solution from the Raspberry Pi 2 era. I used it to prepare the tutorial since it is not easy to purchase a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5. Please disregard my use case.
Apologies for the audio quality. I broke my previous microphone and I am currently using a temporary arrangement; recommendations welcome for a replacement microphone.
