Cheers for doing this vid, I always feel that some of the big bike parks are portrayed as pros only on youtube. I think the bike parks themselves should put more content out which explains roll ability on tracks and bail out options etc.
I was a bit dubious at first about wanting to go to Dyfi park because I don’t feel my skill set to be up there to do big jumps etc. After watching this it’s reassured me that the trails are rideable and jumps don’t have to be on par with the professionals. Cheers lads will look at booking this next year 👍🏻
As an experienced but ageing rider I would say your review is bang on target guys. I loved watching and then listening to your breakdowns of the trails. I have ridden there twice now and would say its my favourite destination in the UK by far for all the reasons in your well thought out summary.
As a barely average rider, I'd agree with your assessment - anyone can ride Dyfi but stay clear of the double blacks unless you are good. Dyfi is local to me too but I've been putting it off until now, as I thought it was too hardcore. It isn't if you ride within your limits. I went a few days ago and attempted that last bit of Original DH, but had a fairly decent crash and hit my head pretty hard, so I'm off the bike for a bit. Great place, though. Those jumps are huge fun even if (like me) you can't do them. Excellent video, as usual. Wish I could have seen this before I went!
Glad you enjoyed the video Rich! Sorry about the crash, must have been nasty. That bottom section is pretty hardcore. Maybe we’ll see you there sometime🙌
Sam/Pete what an awesome video 👊. Absolutely loved it and it’s definitely answered my question about Dyfi Bike park 👍. I’m gagging to get there now! Big respect ✊ and I’m sub’d 🤘
Thanks for your comment Phill. Really glad you found it useful. Great to have you join us as we muddle through this RUclips channel 😂 hopefully we keep you entertained from time to time 😄
Good to see this video and the reality of the bottom of original Downhill. Will have a look at the top as I never ventured there last time and do the transfer onto Super Swooper. Back for the first time since December this Sunday and looking to step it up a bit. Great place.
Thanks for the approach you've taken and satisfied the curiosity of so many intermediate riders like myself. Will be booking a trip with my son. Sub'd to the channel.👍
Nice one lads... Super helpful vid.. You've answered all my questions there about the park! I'm looking to get back into peddling myself, it's been some years now out of the saddle.. I'm local too, Corris. Be nice to have a ride out sometime..?
Awesome video again! Out of curiosity what bikes were you on? I have finally booked to go this Saturday, I have a trek fuel ex 5, was just going to stick to the reds? I'm an average rider so a bit nervous 👀
Things have changed a bit recently, they have added a new red called turns in the ferns. Definitely start with a couple of runs of super swooped and then maybe try out either el hippo or turns in the ferns. Once you’ve worked through the red maybe try 50 hits and and original dh track.
Super Swooper, Turns in the Ferns, Helter Skelter, El Hippo run. Such a fantastic place! Super Swooper into Helter Skelter was the favourite of the day. Will definitely be back.
Absolutely! Mate, wish I was there tomorrow. Got a busy weekend otherwise I’d be all over it 😤 Have an epic day man. New tracks coming soon, maybe a colab video?

I wish you'd made this video last year, I went to Dyfi in September 20, I'm an average rider and I hit it wayy too fast, it's quite deceiving the start is fast and flowy and then bang! big ass jumps, I don't know how to jump and I took some of them 'I thought' slow enough to roll but still got big air and went OTB once. will definitely bring my speed down in future. I'm going ot Revs in November and don't want a repeat of Dyfi because it rattled my head for the rest of the day when I stacked it.
Ah man that sounds nasty. We just released our Revs video today. Hopefully that will help you out! If you’re not a fan of jumps I’d recommend starting on the red DH trail as the freeride line has lots. Most are pretty mellow, but if like me your aren’t used to them they can get a bit intimidating.
So true , you can ride Enter the dragon at Bpw quite easy , you can roll it but if you go too fast you’ll be airborne and it’s scary so definitely ride slow to start with 😊
I used your video for Revs and you guys were spot on with trying the red dh instead of the freeride line to warm up. It was honestly out of my depth as a rider.. So compared to Revs are the reds more manageable for average riders? Thanks lads!
If you were happy on the red DH trail at Revs you'll have a great time on super swooper and El Hippo. It's less tech more flow. There are a few jumps on both but just watch your speed coming into them and you'll be grand. I hear there is a new red at Dyfi called 'turns in the ferns' which we haven't ridden yet but looks equally as fun and not to daunting. Hope you have a good trip!
@@GoBikingMTB I think the steep technical bit (after the loam section) had worn away with the heavy rain as it was very rooty. Dodgy in the wet, but can't wait to get back there. Would love to see you spend a bit of time talking us through the lines you take on the trickier sections of the trails. Would be really interesting.
@@niseach thanks man. Not sure we would have any authority on the topic at somewhere like Dyfi. But been playing with the idea of doing a similar video with a coach to help us.
That’s a really hard question. It depends where you’re at with your skill and what you enjoy. Dyfi and Revs are pretty similar in a lot of respects both have big jumps on offer with some good steep tech. Antur has more to offer for someone finding their feet at the bike park with a mix of green, blue and red trails to build confidence and skill. It doesn’t have as much in the way of jumps but has a lot of rocky tech which is great fun. Hope that helps
Ah man, thanks for commenting. Great to hear from an original subscriber. Yes, I made sam smokes videos. Work got in the way and then kids so I just never got the time to make the videos any more. Then RUclips completely took any support away from channels that promoted tobacco use so I decided to start a new little adventure.
Great video, just what I was looking for, your honesty on skill level is great. Thanks

You’ll have a great time. Even if you just ride swooper all day, it’s good enough that’d still be fun.
Awesome video guys and loving having bike park video reviews from people at my own skill level.
Thank you so much.

literally exactly what I was looking for as an intermediate rider who needs that rollover option! Great vid guys
0:35 "you aint seen me.... right?"
😂 That's what I was thinking.
Great video lads. I'm planning on doing this in the next few months. Only been riding a Full Sus for 2 years. Can't wait for the challenge. 👍

Very good video!! Well done chaps!! Thanks very much !! I'm going there soon and pleased I watched this👍
Really nice, authentic video from you guys! Appreciate a lot. Thanks for the carry! Ride on 🤙Hitsch
Great vid lads 👏🏻
Excellent review gents, I'll definitely pay a visit after watching your video😉👍👍
Thanks Ed! Hope you have an awesome time!
Great video dudes. A real honest review, for average riders. 👍
Perfect video for the average Joe rider.. Plenty of videos of the pros sending the jumps massive and flying down. Nice work guys
glad i watched this. Really wanted to do a wales bike park trip in august and wanted to try this place on my 150mm trail bike
You’ll have a great time no doubt. If your down this way and hitting the bike parks I also recommend a trip to Antur stiniog 👌
I've been to BPW and Antur Stiniog - out of those two Antur Stiniog was certainly more challenging. Dyfi defo next on my list.

Fits well on the track doesn’t it 🤣
