Hi sir just wondering in 10:20 you calculated the IQ by doing 1-0.3 so you used the left tail area of 0.7 for your calculation. Does it not work if you just use 0.3 but use the right tail when you input it onto the calculator? Thank you very much for your useful vids!
It's implied by the size of the probability - if it is less than or more than 50%, and then looking at the inequality sign to decide which end it is referring to!
Hi sir, just wondering if you have the graphics calc and can put central tail or right tail, do you still need to show working and pretend your calc can’t do this to get the marks haha?
Hi Sir, am I allowed to use my CG50 Graphics Calculator in my Mathematics A Level exam? I do not take Further Maths so will only be using it for normal Maths. I've found varied answers on google where some people say yes, others say it's banned.
Yes, you are! All my students use it. The only calculators that aren’t allowed are those which can actually differentiate or integrate for you. If it can tell you that x^2 differentiates to 2x (for example), then it’s not allowed. Otherwise OK!
@@BicenMaths I guess that means that calculators which can do definite integration and derivatives for certain values of x is okay because the classwiz has a button on the top right for it? I'm guessing since it just gives you a value and not what that equation integrated / differentiated is? Also I'm pretty sure I saw online that when you go into exams you have to put your class wiz or CG50 on 'exam mode', is that true? Thank you for your videos they are really helpful!
I do fm and recently got the graphical calculator you use in your video but I have used the other calculator for the last year and hence am more familiar with stats on that calc, is it worth familiarising myself with stats on fx-cg50 or just using both for different functions
I personally prefer everything on the fx-cg50 because the screen size allows me to view more information at once, and it really is more powerful, especially for binomial and normal. I highly recommend using the graphics one for all stats information, and sometimes will use the other calculator for the more “regular” calculations as I find they are often quicker/easier on the older ones. It won’t take you any time at all to get used to the fx cg 50 for stats, and when you do it is so much better.
I love theese videos in a class room it makes you feel like you are a real person despite not seeing anyone for weeks
Thank you! You are so nearly there now - then it’s time for a summer of friends and freedom!
@@BicenMaths only two more to go you are pulling me through stats despite being an aqa student
thank you
thank you! re looking over stats since it was so forgettable for me, however you explain it really well and manage to make it far less boring hahah
What a kind thing to say - thank you!
Incredibly helpful saved me a lot of time!! Thank you for all your videos!!!
Thank you!!!! All of your videos have been a blessing!!! Will be reporting when I get my A* in maths!
What a lovely comment, you’re so welcome - good luck with your studies, and getting that A*! 👏🏼
did u get it??
@@dfszf4743 bro u are everywhere
I missed my lesson yesterday and this video has been very helpful to catch up! Thank you!
You're welcome, pleased it helped!
So for the first examples are we basically guessing that a is greater than 20?
Yes - the logic of knowing the area and the value at the mean allows us to know whether the value we are considering will be < or > 20.
What's that calculator you're using?
It’s the CASIO fxcg50
its the big boy calculator
for 16:16 my first thought was that could you do the area between 75 and 80, and then do 0.4 - that area to get the area of b then inverse normal

Yes that would be fine too!
Hi how do you know where to put that a value? Like on the left hand side or right hand side. Thank you.

No, you can just use the calculator to do it, and no additional working is required! They are expecting you to be a pro at using your calculators :)
@@BicenMaths great thank you!

Yes, definite integration is fine! Also when you put it in exam mode, only one or two features are dropped, none of which make much difference to you.

There are channels on RUclips that demo how to use all the features too - just search the brand of the calculator.
@@BicenMaths Ok thanks I will definitely do that, thanks for the advice
Do you know how to store number from stats to then solve equations simultaneously with exact values can be done on 991EX easily but not sure on cg50
This is something I don’t know how to do! Could you let me know if you figure it out?
