i think rachel asking him if forcing these 2 to get married kinda brought him to 2nd place - and to be fair, his only other competition was another tribiani and one half of Numbnuts
He's the eldest of 8 kids and the only boy thats why Joey is so tough and not scared to fight he's had to live around a lot of women with strong personalities look at the way he pushed Ross off the couch in Central Perk he didn't even look up from his coffee lol
There was a big difference between Rachel and Joey's sister. Rachel had a great job that allowed her to provide for Emma where as the sister seems to have nothing really going
Also, Rachel was not a single mother either. Ross made it clear that he would be there for both Rachel and their baby. Plus Rachel is actually to the point where she is mature enough to take care of kids, unlike Joey's sister who acts like a teenager.
I think the point that Joey should have made is that Rachel has a successful career and the father, Ross, also has one and is in the picture. Gina is a "dumb kid" who didn't really have any real plan, and while the father was willing, wasn't exactly going to provide well for his family. So yes, it is a very different situation.
And we never saw these characters again.... such a shame though cause it would have made a great continuous subplot in the series for Joey. Being an uncle, becoming more independent. Way better than his random, awkward and zero chemistry tryst with Rachel.
i like those two more than Alice and Frank ..i know phoebe was pregnant in real life that why they had to do it .. but it would've been ok if phoebe was a single mom instead of all of Alice and Frank they annoying and disturbing storyline .. it would be fun she could've name the baby princess consuela

Both Joey and Rachel had good points in their arguments. While it is probably better to be married and have a child, people can also make it work by not being married. Joey was being a good big brother and trying to look out for his younger sister who did make a mistake. She was willing to make it work and figure it out on her own. All she needed was the support and love from her friends and family. Once Joey realized that she can handle it as long as he supported her, he knew she was going to be alright in the end.
Honestly knowing the crisis of fatherless children in America, I'd say Joey is absolutely vindicated here. Rachel taking the opposite stance makes sense cuz of the context of the situation that she was in, but she eventually got back together with Ross, heck even when they weren't together he was very active in raising Emma, so she didn't end up being a single mother after all.
