Primus built their following on word of mouth. They never get played on any radio station. They are the best 3 man band alive. I just saw them live last month. Killing it.
I've seen them in Milan (Italy) in 91 or 92, can't remember, we were 47 in the audience! They played 2 and a half hours! PRIMUS SUCKS!
Been listening to them since late 80s , will never stop.

You are so right yet so completely wrong! You can see them at a college radio station before the release of their first album, I highly recommend that you do. I could be wrong but I believe[don't know for fact] that those sessions became part of their live album, "Suck on this" which in my opinion is their best stuff. I've seen them more than any band that I like and would like to point out out how brilliant the rest of the members are. Most of all Primus Sucks!!

That being said,,, maybe the 2nd best 3 man band . . . Gonna have to save that spot for RUSH.. Who also happens to sport a phenomenal bass player, in Geddy Lee. . . . But , yeah, Les is on another level....

Chaotic free jazz/ rock fusion.Seemingly chaotic yet keenly structured at the same time.No one else can do this complex musical arrangement style,that's why they are the sole occupants of their own genre.
This song, and this version of it, absolutely kick... f*cking....ass. My favourite Primus song. So g*damn different than anything else out there.

It's a loose reference to the hall of fame musician/actor Tom Waits who both did the intro part for the recorded version, but was also neighbors with Les (the bass player) at the time.
