I love how you made the point that the snare drum can be lower or higher depending on how the kit is tuned. The kit has to be balanced.
Such a rich, deep, clangy sound (in the best way possible). This type of tone is actually quite popular with indie rock groups (particularly those from Japan), interestingly enough.
@toe
Sounds great! What is the exact name of the Mapex snare drum?
Thank you,
I'm not sure about the exact model name, but it's a series labeled as 'all-maple'
I think the model name is MPML3600CNL
Nice sound! Do you know the pitch for each of the drums?
Thanks! Great tips! What sticks are you using ?
Like a reggae tuning 😀
Great tips! What ride are you using?
Thank you! the ride is Istanbul-Mehmet dark legend, and it was modified by request of the local store where I bought it to be a bit thinner than their normal factory cymbal. Amazing ride, I fell in love with this ride at the moment I tried it in the store.
I think I’ve got close to this sound
epic sample for my hip hop song muahahaha
so there’s this thing you do when you tune drums, it’s called a star pattern… 🤦♂️
not all people use star pattern tho
