- BEER DEVON | Full tour of the seaside village of Beer in Devon
Beer in Devon is a charming fishing village located near between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis on the south coast of Devon, England. It's a true taste of the British Seaside combined with the breathtaking British countryside!
Beer is nestled close to Seaton on the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its rich fossil record and dramatic landscapes. Towering white chalk cliffs flank the village, their history whispering in the sea breeze. The shingle beach is a haven for seashell collectors and a picturesque spot to watch traditional fishing boats bob in the bay.
Beer offers a welcome escape from the everyday. With a population of just over 1,000, the village exudes a tranquil charm. Wander narrow lanes lined with colourful cottages, breathe in the fresh sea air, and unwind with a leisurely stroll along the coast path.
Lace up your boots! Beer sits on the South West Coast Path, a national trail stretching 263 miles along the stunning coastlines of Devon and Cornwall. Explore hidden coves, dramatic cliffs, and soak in panoramic vistas of the Jurassic Coast. The walk from Seaton to Beer is a popular choice, rewarding you with breathtaking coastal scenery.
Beer (the village, not the beverage!) lives up to its name for pub enthusiasts. Sample Devon's real ales in characterful pubs, each with a distinct atmosphere and a welcoming pint waiting for you. Whether you prefer a traditional tavern feel or a beer garden basking in the sunshine, you'll find the perfect spot to raise a glass and toast the good life.
Beer is a fantastic destination for a family getaway. The safe, shingle beach is ideal for paddling, building sandcastles, and rock pooling adventures. Let the kids loose in the village playground, or browse the charming shops for souvenirs and seaside essentials. Beer offers a relaxed pace and a delightful escape, perfect for creating lasting memories with loved ones.
Beyond the village itself, Beer boasts a fascinating history waiting to be explored. Discover the secrets of the Beer Quarry Caves, a network of man-made caverns delving deep into the cliffs. For a touch of whimsy, take a ride on the Beer Heights Light Railway, a miniature steam train offering scenic journeys through delightful gardens.
So, if you seek a quintessential English seaside escape brimming with natural beauty, rich history, and a relaxed atmosphere, then set your sights on Beer in Devon!

Hi can I ask what do you prefer filming on your phone or a Go Pro? I've just started to do some small walking videos as a way of tracking my fitness. Thanks ❤
Heya
I tend to use my phone or either my Sony a7cii or my FX3 now rather than GoPro
GoPros are great in the rain tho!
Thank you for your kind reply. Your films are great, it's made me realise how much of our country I haven't seen. I'm on trains and buses so some are not easy to get to. I may make a mission to visit different places. ❤
