    He was. This was around the time when his girlfriend Diana Highland (who was much older and in her 40's at the time) had died. And had taken him a long time to get over it.

    He was 23-24 when this was filmed. I'm really impressed with that. I'm not even a Travolta fan, I came across this looking for 70's stuff I might remember from my childhood. I do remember watching Welcome Back Kotter with my folks when it was 1st aired. "Wat? Weah?" But Horshack was my favorite. =)

    I have a confession to make.
    I’m a millennial. I used to have the wildest crush on John Travolta. 🤦‍♀️
    I would watch TV Guide (yes, they used to have a channel) and I would sit around doing nothing. Then a listing for a movie (say, Urban Cowboy) would show up, and it would list his name. I got so excited I dived under the covers of my parents’ bed. I was too scared to actually watch the movie.

    • @TheReubenKincaid
      @TheReubenKincaid 6 лет назад +6

      Matt Yust My family had it Queens, Ny. There was no cable tv other than HBO. As for the cost I remember it was $10.00 per month. Broadcasting started around 7:00 PM and ran till about 2AM. Every month we would wait for the monthly guide to see what would be on and when. I saw a lot of movies that I never would have seen. In the Summer of 78 I was 11. I saw Cannon Ball with Carradine, Death Race 2000, Food of The Gods, Emmit Otter at Christmas. I also saw my first set of boobies..lol. Forget the movie, but it was Lynda Carter ......I was also a popular kid because we were the only ones on the block with HBO, so I could invite friends. So cool, no commercials and curse words.

    what is the difference between someone like John travolta, who had a fixed role as a younger person, and still rose to fame in many areas, and other former child stars, who say their adolescent typecast ruined them, and destroyed chances at
    furthering themselves, because the role they played growing up sealed a permanent mage in the minds of casting directors who could not get beyond the original character .............

    John Travolta a man of integrity? Seriously???? And everyone still gushes on RUclips how sweet natured he looks. Can't people see that L Ron Hubbard was corrupting him from within even then? The only truth from this interview : "Tony Manero...his life is not my life. We're completely separate entities." Damn right, cos Tony at least did try to do the right thing. John Travolta did the Saturday Night Fever sequel. Boom.
