That's so pretty. I could watch you paint all day & your explanations of the colours you use at each step are really useful. I will definitely be having a go at this one. Thanks
Trying and trying but I cannot get my salt to work like yours. I've tried with more water, less water, almost dry, a little bit damp.........just does not work for me 😢
@101curlywurly 1. Are you trying it on watercolour paper? 2. Is the humidity between 50 to 60%? 3. Are you sprinkling salt when the paper has a slight sheen?
@@PremaWatercolor Hi Prema, yes it's watercolour paper (all types) and I am waiting until it has a slight sheen. I don't know about the humidity ha ha ha
@@101curlywurly I wish I could be there with you to see exactly what's happening with the salt technique! Sometimes, it can be a bit tricky depending on the paper and timing and humidity. Is the salt melting instead of creating the texture?
Molto delicato...atmosfera gentile....mi piace tanto. Grazie per le spiegazioni chiare e in modo lento per poter capire bene. You are very good teacher. Maria Luisa da Roma. ❤❤❤❤
Had a horrible time with the lamp. I was uncertain what I was doing at the bottom of the painting. Was it supposed to be dry? Wet it later? I am very new to watercolor.
Prema dear, so nice works, nice and pleasant videos. I am advanced in Watercolor and Even so, I learn and enjoy your channel, thank you and greetings from México City!
I too have had mixed results with salt. I think it depends very much on how wet the paint is - too wet and it doesn't work, and too dry and it doesn't work either! I think you could also use white gouache splatter to make a snowflake effect - although not as pretty as the salt!
@@christianebirwin8463 Vielen Dank für ihren Tipp! Ja, daran könnte es liegen....wahrscheinlich ist mein Papier zu nass. Ich werde weiter probieren. 🍀
I used fine textured table salt. Humidity plays important role in salt technique. According to my observation, 50 to 60% of humidity is the ideal condition for salt technique.
Wow - you painted those two figures so easily and with a large brush. Excellent control you have.
Simple clean and very beautiful.
You made this look so easy, thank you.

I don't own Naples Yellow, but I see you use it quite often. Very pretty.
Even if you don’t have Naples Yellow, creating with what you have can still give you beautiful results.

I struggle with the salt too. I read somewhere it’s to do with paper and paint type
@@lenkiewiczlover7256 Getting fed up of wasting paper to be honest. Think I will stick with the splatter method instead.

Foreground: It's wet on dry technique and I was softening the hard edges with a damp brush.
Its beautiful 🎉

EU NÃO FALO SUA LÍNGUA, POR FAVOR ME EXPLICA, COMO VC FEZ ? VC MOLHOU O SAL OU SIMPLESMENTE O JOGOU? É SAL GROSSO OU SAL DE COZINHA??
It's normal table salt l. I just sprinkled on the paint just before the paint started to dry.
