100 Days to go. So much blessings, just from drawing near to God through His Word and Fr. Mike's commentaries! Praying for all of you here, all priests and religious, the faithful. Also praying for those who don't believe in God, those who don't know Him, those who've left the Church, for all mankind especially sinners and for souls who've become lukewarm.
I was off the same mind as you with the 10 virgins..why didn't they share🤔 but your explanation of being unable to share my relationship with Christ makes perfect sense! I can see the benefits of going through this Bible Study multiple times. Just curious, are you going through the Study from beginning to end, or do you pick the Days that you need clarification?

I never read and understood the parable of the talents that the master gave the servants TO THE BEST OF THEIR ABILITY. Now it makes so much sense. The one who buried the talent was not doing to the best of his ability and that was to bring two talents but even if he just put it in the bank for a minimal increase the master's mercy would have been upon him. Fr Mike sited the works of mercy with the parable of the sheep and goats where whe are speaking of goats the animals not GOATs the greatest of all times. The woman with the alabaster box of perfumed ointment does the greatest of the corporal works of mercy which is to bury the death. So great is this Jesus said basically wherever the gospel is spread this woman with the alabaster is an integral part of the gospel and it is so wonderful that St Eli shares this with us. Fr Mike pointed out that it was not only Peter but all the disciples denied Jesus and so have I at times when I commit grave sin. Thank God I have His forgiveness and mercy in Confession to do penance and receive salvific grace. When was the last time we like Peter wept bitterly especially after our sins? I sometimes and often get choked up reading the act of contrition. I refuse to memorize it for this very reason because it somehow is more spiritually and emotionally meaningful when I read it like the writing on the wall, you have been measured and weighed and found lacking and today your enemy will destroy you because be sure the temporal punishment for our sin can destroy us if we let it. Therefore seek indulgences faithfully. Pray for the pope's intentions. Peter’s penance was to feed the sheep and tend to the flock of Jesus. We are not sure of his temporal punishment but he faithfully followed Jesus instructions to his inverted death on a cross. We may have dressed ourselves from the point we learned how and gone where we pleased but God forbid someone else dress us and lead us where we are reluctant to go for following our Lord. Lord have mercy on us all.

I always felt that no mortal human can possibly know the torment that Jesus experienced in the Garden. Often, when I'm in distress or pain, I offer my sufferings to God...uniting my meager pain with the Lord's. It doesn't take away my distress. But it seems to draw me closer to my Savior.

The betrayal and denial of Jesus by his friends, who were supposed to love him, must have hurt him very much. I know that when I have been betrayed, I feel pain in my heart. We have betrayed you by our sins many times. Thank you Lord Jesus for your death on the cross for our sins.
Thank you Father Mike for the easy explanation of the parables. I also never understood why the maidservants couldn't just share the oil ever since I was a kid, glad I got some closure. The only problem is most of the people in my life have little or no oil, but I am praying for them.

That's a good proverb. It reminds me of a funny thing someone once told me. He said if you want to make God laugh just tell Him how think your life will go.
My ambition ( after finishing Pharmacy school ) was to go on the “ Good Ship Hope “ with the medical team. I had to work as an intern for a year first. Of course, during that year, I met my wonderful cradle Catholic ( devout ) husband, became Catholic before our marriage. Never got on that ship ! Man plans, God laughs.
I so needed that message to mothers who take care of their families… I’ve always felt like I haven’t done enough! But your message about your Mom brought me to tears🥺 thank you❤️ You are truly blessed Father Mike and God Bless all my biay peeps🙏🏻

From the center of my soul, thank You Father God for providing this way for us all to follow Fr Mike on this journey. Like many things, reading the entire Bible was seen as possible, but never completed. 63 years old and, the Lord willing, it will be accomplished in 100 days. Just like training for and running marathons, there are days and races where it's hard and hurts. There have been those days. Too, there have been days when Fr Mike expands on the readings or sheds light on things that makes it so much more. Days where I immediately message family with something that was taught. Praise God, and thank you Fr. Mike, Jeff, and everyone involved in making this possible. God bless everyone.

You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you. 13 - You will seek me, and you will find me because you will seek me with all your heart 14 - Yes, I say, you will find me, and I will restore you..... Sorry for your job loss, hope you can find consolation in God's words. These words have helped me through difficult times in the past, and I was moved to share them with you here. From the center of my soul, thank You Father God for providing this way for us all to follow Fr Mike on this journey. Like many things, reading the entire Bible was seen as possible, but never completed. 63 years old and, the Lord willing, it will be accomplished in 100 days. Just like training for and running marathons, there are days and races where it's hard and hurts. There have been those days. Too, there have been days when Fr Mike expands on the readings or sheds light on things that makes it so much more. Days where I immediately message family with something that was taught. Praise God, and thank you Fr. Mike, Jeff, and everyone involved in making this possible. God bless everyone.
So funny, I'm 63 years old, too. I have been trying to read the bible in a year (news years resolutions) but never did! It is such a blessing to be on this journey with Fr. Mike! Such wonderful moments of insight! Blessings and prayers to you, and all, on this journey! 📖💖👍

That quote is a stumbling block to so many. It makes us tremble until we learn to trust. I hate to say it but I accepted it in languidness and realizing His will, will be no matter what we may want. To accept it in trust is a great spirit.
A person gets depressed when they put a false control on their emotions instead of letting them be free. Emotions have there own control given them from God.

Hi father Mike thank you for your Bible in a year work it is actually fun it doesn’t even feel like much of a sacrifice but on the topic of sacrifices 40 days for life is asking for people to pray for about an hour a day during the prayer campaign to end abortion .You can also register to go to a clinic and pray there and a location whoever can’t do these things do your best to pray for the babies

I was cocky thinking I could pass any test God throws at me and I failed. Miserably. I cammot believe how terribly I am doing even though I have a family...
