I bought a vintage speedy. It's vachetta has an uneven patina and the high traffic areas of the handle has darkened. However it's in great condition. I'm thinking of using magic eraser to gently remove the dirt and top layer gloss to even out the color and it can start over. Then I just want to coat it with a finisher. I saw that Angelus has Vachetta leather paint. But I'm thinking if I paint over then I'll have to paint over the stitching, which I don't really want to do. Do you think i can just proceed with the top coat? Should I condition it first before applying top coat? I want a satin and not too glossy finish -- is the Angelus matte finisher 620 good for that? Thank you so much for your time
what did you use for cleaning the hardwares?
