CNET, it would be good if you can share from your experience, how the big screen feels like. Is it like having a 100" display in your room? I've tried mobile VR goggles before and some apps try to recreate a cinema ambience, but it end up feeling like a tiny display. Like a 32" display feels huge if up close to our face while a 100" display can still feel small at a distance of say 10m. Does the 320" at 10m really feel huge? And how does that scale with the 120" at 4m?
Im intrigued. When i play on my switch or rog ally my hands start to go numb and my neck starts to hurt after an hour or so. At first I thought I will be wearing this glass everywhere I go, but in reality it is not the case. Maybe I bother if i will be sitting somewhere more than 1 hour. I bought this 2 weeks before I bought my metaquest 3 but I used metaquest maybe 20 times more than this for work, gaming and watching movies. I hoped this will be my main portable monitor as advertised but I'm sorry, xreal goes back. Maybe next time or I will try viture, which has smaller fov but no blurry edges.
I find this kind of device very isolating. I wonder what the experience would be like if you only had a display over one eye, and the other would see the external world. I did some basic experiments and found that it is pretty easy to mostly ignore one of your eyes input, so you can choose to pay attention to the monitor or to the real world allowing normal conversations and interactions as if you were wearing an eyepatch. I imagine the monitors are most of the cost, of the device, so it would be cheaper, or you could use a 1080p instead of a 720p. It would use ½ as much battery.
The question I have is whether I can use the glasses or the Beam bundle to support my work from home. I have a work laptop that is designated specifically for work, is a Dell, and I use Microsoft applications within it. I have three displays I use at home because I am constantly processing a lot of data and need more than just one or two open at a time. What I would like to know is whether or not the X Real Pro 2 is capable of immersing myself in this same type of workspace through my computer with three virtual displays that I can bounce between... or if the Beam Pro is required to do so. Thank you for anyone's input on this!!!
I'm interested in these as an alternative to my current setup. I walk 2 miles almost daily with my iPhone mounted around my neck with a flexible arm part that holds the screen up in front of me. It works well but if I could use these as both shades and be able to view RUclips while walking, it would be worth any price.
Yes but there are Android apps that can black out your screen in order to lower battery consumption and reduce the chance of burn-in. Not sure about a black screen app for iOS.
What you think about the rayneo air 2. I own the nreal first version, viture ar glasses and the rayneo 2. Like the tint on the viture and the lens adjustments. I like the look of the rayneo air 2 but the nreal hands down is the best view I had experience and that's the first on so I wonder how much better the nreal 2 is
Its an adaptor designed for devices that lack USB-C compatibility, making it essential for connecting the XREAL with devices like the iPhone 14 or older models.
The screen is really about 1" but the marketing material I've seen claims it appears to be a 210" screen viewed from 6 meters away. So the 130" is probably at 4 meters, and the 330 is about 9 meters. Those numbers didn't clarify anything for me, so I did the math and figured it would look the same size as my computer monitor from 2' away, and my laptop screen from 18". Basically it will look like a normal size screen at a normal viewing distance.
@@mistamaog Stuff could be run locally. I should have expanded on the "fully wireless" to "fully wireless and independent." - The arms of the glasses could house two batteries each and a micro-sd slot for massive storage. - Have Arm chips running the glasses and don't need to much power to run videos. - Speakers could be bone conducting as opposed to open. - Also, accessories like a glasses neck chain could house batteries in them to give smart glasses additional battery power.
@@AdmiralBison I'm sure we'll get something like that in the future, but for now, that would make the glasses quite bulky and basically be the size of VR goggles.
Yes, I have the nReal Air glasses (without the beam, that didn't exist when I bought the nReal version of these). I would like an option, like beam that could throw to multiple outputs. My wife and I travel together most of the time and we generally share content that we are watching. It would be nice if we could have two outputs from the beam to support two glasses. I supposed that would require a bigger battery (more space and weight), but it would be worth it to me.
I won’t use them for gaming, but will use them for productivity apps when traveling for work. Do you feel these glasses wuld be a great way to get an external monitor for your computer when traveling? I see more reviews related to gaming than I do when traveling for work and meeting that extra laptop monitor.
I worked as a Brand Ambassador for XREAL at CES this year and was really impressed with both the Air 2 Pro & Ultra. Unfortunately, the marketing agency they hired had a yahoo email and did not pay us. Lesson learned.
Excellent review video but i was wondering if you can plug the usb-c end of a usb-c to hdmi cable into the glasses and the hdmi end into a console and get it to work that way. Then the only limitation is the length of the usb-c to hdmi cable. Please correct me if i am wrong.
Nice review, yah, had the same feeling. It’s wonderful when it works, but too many connection lines and additional accessories needed in order to have it work, and some don’t come with the box, have to research and buy. At the end, after trying for 2 weeks, returned the gaggle. May try again in the future when it becomes wireless, now it’s just too much to be fun.
I felt the same, bought these when they were called the NReal Air glasses and had the HDMI adapter and while to have such a large screen somewhat pocketable, the best use case right now for these is entertainment, movies, gaming from ur phone or tablet. I had finicking connection issues with my Switch. Great for COD mobile and game streaming from my iPad. I also tried working, I do software engineering so I’m reading lots of detailed code, and while using them was manageable, I wouldn’t recommend it for longer than 2-4 hr sessions due to eye strain. I’ve seen reviews using the Nebula app for extended desktops and the ability to anchor the screens rather than following u, but it still feels like 1. U are glued to ur workstation and 2. This is a luxury item that isn’t absolutely necessary for getting ur work done.
You have best experience if you use a device with 16:9 ratio screen. If you use a phone like Sony Experia or z flip that’s what it exactly mirrors. Long horizontal screen. If you zoom in to fit it will crops lots of photo or video. Even pictures and videos will play in small video or will get cropped if zoomed on iPhone 15 pro. When in use with my 16:9 laptop experience is best.
I still think none of them are getting the UI and control right. I think Viture with the neckband and a Bluetooth remote is getting the closest, but it needed esim. The FOV also needs to improve on all of these.
I have been researching all the brands for my specific use cases. HDMI input from older iPhone, Drone and Mirrorless Camera video. The gaming part is basically not important at all for me. I just want the cleanest HUD type of device I can get without overly complicated wiring/batteries, etc. That's the one thing about these not coming with any type of onboard battery that kills it for me. I can probably mount the accessory to my Mirrorless cage somehow and then power it via the external battery I have...but this is just more weight, cables and clutter. The ultimate reason I need this is that I find even with external 7" LCD monitors, I can't quite focus well enough on the detail with my farsightedness even with glasses. Was hoping this tech could solve that for me. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I am far sighted my self. I can see with out needing contacts using these unlike sitting in front of my monitor. If you just want a very clean crisp monitor stuck in front of your face ... thats pretty much all these are. if your looking for having a multi monitor minority report style environment. these are not the glasses for you due to Xreal crippling there developers ability to make such apps for these. It is obtainable but requires more than just plug in stall play. as for the battery issue. yah if u dont plug in to the power grid your device will get drained faster than a happily married man with 9 kids.
@@brad7141I received mine a couple of days ago. Digging it. Looks fine with my farsightedness as you mention. Pretty happy with it and it serves the exact purpose I got them for. they're much more limited in some ways but of course the form factor is a big plus and they do let you see the actual reality instead of just a processed camera view of it. These don't really do any AR in a significant way, they're more just floating displays.while VIsion Pro is full AR. These also don't have the compute that the VP does.
Having the options for the grid and screen locked location features seem like the best of both worlds. I want something I can use while walking around or doing other tasks and a full screen is too large. Being able to shrink the size or place the screen in a corner of the view forward is great. Having the ability to connect without an added device, cables and expense is whats needed.
I want virtual monitor glasses that can project multiple virtual screens onto any surface in view at full ocular resolution. Very minimal 3D processing..Just mapping. At any distance. Minimal rendering needed. In real life multiple pictures or posters decorating your room because monitors with the glasses.
Why I am hearing these only now? This is what we need first for the VR/AR purposes, a just a display hovering in our vision to do a work in larger field of view, like in airplane, train, car etc... In any angle and position.
finally, finally these type of glasses are becoming mainstream and getting WAY thinner. It'd bet most people would just think these are normal glasses.
1080p per eye, and being limited to 72hz with the Beam(Using Body Anchor) is still perfect for Nintendo Switch. Wonder how long it will take until they integrate the body anchor setting, capped at 120hz, with no additional latency, larger FOV and with 4K per eye.

Actually it's the opposite. Your eyes are focused in the distance. Because it can be transparent I had my daughter walk until she was "behind" the screen and it was 12 ft away. So your eyes are focusing much farther than you would with a phone or computer screen. Same with VR headsets.
Was utterly disappointed with the Pro 2, got the Beam with it. I was not prepared to have really tight horizontal boundaries/borders that kill immersion for me. Move your head slightly left or right and the sides of the screen cut off. You also have to keep fiddling with the nose adjustment to get the picture perfect. Everyone says the same thing. It’s good for movies. With most of these glasses there is a lack of clarity farther from the center of the monitors. So, text is less legible. He’s not talking about that at all which robs validity from a lot of what he’s saying. This means they’re garbage for productivity. Almost no one even talks about that entire use case other than to say … it can be your computer monitor system. This tells me they’re doing rushed, poor reviews (or they're intentionally not speaking about product weaknesses). The clarity issue is also a huge problem in some games because some games have text that you need to be able to read that isn’t only in the center of the screen. Most reviewers don’t talk about this at all (which tells me they’re not using the device for long or on many different games). For some games this would work for it great. For movies it’s pretty much ideal, especially with good headphones. Another thing they don’t talk about is the screen size and what that really amounts to. They’ll say “120 inch screen!” But, a 120 inch screen 50ft away won’t feel large. It’s a given screen size AT a given distance. For most of these glasses a 27inch monitor 24 inches (2ft) from your face is as big or bigger than the monitors they use (there’s simple high school level math for this kind of comparison). Check fine print on these … you’ll see “120 inches at 9ft” or something like that.

Does the 320" at 10m really feel huge? And how does that scale with the 120" at 4m?
he mentions this at 3:46
I measured focusing distance and got 130in at 12ft.
Is it possible to just connect a DP to C directly to the glasses? Just cut the beam out.
Im intrigued. When i play on my switch or rog ally my hands start to go numb and my neck starts to hurt after an hour or so. Being able to rest my arms comfortably and not tilt my head down would be a game changer. I wish these weren't so pricey though. Seems like its a bit overpriced considering i can get a meta 2 for cheaper and a meta 3 for a similar cost.
but you can't wear Meta 2 outdoor, while waiting for appointment or on airplane without looking like a clown.
heck with this glasses, people won't even notice that you're watching netflix while sitting on a bench
@@jensenraylight8011Agreed. I have never seen anyone wear a meta quest in public, that’d be ridiculous.
@@jensenraylight8011 I will wear my glasses in the car waiting for sombody but they really kinda make me look odd. dont know not my style but i can assure you.... nobody gonna steal from a guy staring blindly in to the air on the train with his not so cool shades and over sized 1st gen ipod.
Will be ordering my setup from AliExpress. They seem lower-priced than other retailers. Tomorrow, they have their special prices. So I'll order tomorrow.
It would use ½ as much battery.
can u add multiple displays inside?
The question I have is whether I can use the glasses or the Beam bundle to support my work from home. I have a work laptop that is designated specifically for work, is a Dell, and I use Microsoft applications within it.
I have three displays I use at home because I am constantly processing a lot of data and need more than just one or two open at a time.
What I would like to know is whether or not the X Real Pro 2 is capable of immersing myself in this same type of workspace through my computer with three virtual displays that I can bounce between... or if the Beam Pro is required to do so.
Thank you for anyone's input on this!!!
What about other alternative brands and models?
Can the main lens be replaced with a regular lens? Because people like me who are over 40 years old wear glasses lens size plus 1.00
When will the Xreal Air 3 Pro come into view?
why they didn't made the AR-Glass at the same size like the sunglass behind it? That would make more pixel possible and it would look much better.
I'm interested in these as an alternative to my current setup. I walk 2 miles almost daily with my iPhone mounted around my neck with a flexible arm part that holds the screen up in front of me. It works well but if I could use these as both shades and be able to view RUclips while walking, it would be worth any price.
Thanks for this excellent video! I want to get a pair. I have the original ones, which I love, but these new features seem great!
Seem what I like Apple vision to be on a fraction of the price. I wonder if works as a secondary monitor for Mac… and are there any health risks?
Hi There, wanting to know how does it handle incoming and outgoing phone calls when connecting to an android phone?
Is it suitable for those who wear reading glasses and those who wear distance glasses?
You can get prescription lenses for them. It is, of course, a sperate cost of $150.
Do you have to run the phone with the screen on as well?
Yes but there are Android apps that can black out your screen in order to lower battery consumption and reduce the chance of burn-in.
Not sure about a black screen app for iOS.
Could these be used for navigation on a bike?
So, it's low resolution and has bad contrast, is that correct?
What you think about the rayneo air 2. I own the nreal first version, viture ar glasses and the rayneo 2. Like the tint on the viture and the lens adjustments. I like the look of the rayneo air 2 but the nreal hands down is the best view I had experience and that's the first on so I wonder how much better the nreal 2 is
Is there a reliable seller to purchase these glasses ?
What was that adaptor you was using @ 1:02?
Its an adaptor designed for devices that lack USB-C compatibility, making it essential for connecting the XREAL with devices like the iPhone 14 or older models.
@@KasparKindem Thanks man
Why does mine max out at 130 inches and urs goes to 330? Is there a different between us and uk models?
The screen is really about 1" but the marketing material I've seen claims it appears to be a 210" screen viewed from 6 meters away. So the 130" is probably at 4 meters, and the 330 is about 9 meters. Those numbers didn't clarify anything for me, so I did the math and figured it would look the same size as my computer monitor from 2' away, and my laptop screen from 18". Basically it will look like a normal size screen at a normal viewing distance.
Apparently you need the Beam to enlarge the screen.
@@AlphaConde-qy7vi no I have the beam, and the max size it allowes me to is 130
Smart glasses are going to take off the moment they become fully wireless...
and we finally have new superior battery technology to Lithium ion.
The issue is you'd have latency between the source and the displays on the glasses.
@@mistamaog Stuff could be run locally.
I should have expanded on the "fully wireless" to "fully wireless and independent."
- The arms of the glasses could house two batteries each and a micro-sd slot for massive storage.
It would be a dream to have one of these 4K 120hz and with all the functions that this accessory does but on the device itself.
My goto glasses have been the rokid max, the largest screen of any by far
Yes, I have the nReal Air glasses (without the beam, that didn't exist when I bought the nReal version of these). I would like an option, like beam that could throw to multiple outputs. My wife and I travel together most of the time and we generally share content that we are watching. It would be nice if we could have two outputs from the beam to support two glasses. I supposed that would require a bigger battery (more space and weight), but it would be worth it to me.
Viture is the only one that supports 2 glasses, with their mobile dock. I have the full setup and it works flawlessly!
the only option for a replacement usb cable of the same quality is the rokid cable which costs $40. Thicker cables pull the glasses off your face.
I won’t use them for gaming, but will use them for productivity apps when traveling for work. Do you feel these glasses wuld be a great way to get an external monitor for your computer when traveling? I see more reviews related to gaming than I do when traveling for work and meeting that extra laptop monitor.
Can i hook up a tiny camera for my prescription
Can you put your own prescription on them
Are this better than the Viture? I hesitate a lot.. for mac/iOS the Viture looks like better. Any advice? Thanks community
Yes Viture is much better, especially for iOS and they are bringing it to Mac now!
I worked as a Brand Ambassador for XREAL at CES this year and was really impressed with both the Air 2 Pro & Ultra. Unfortunately, the marketing agency they hired had a yahoo email and did not pay us. Lesson learned.
Post on their subreddit. You'll get paid.
Told me exactly what i needed to know. Great video!
Wireless won't be a flawless experience even with mmWave technology.
Ok. Keep waiting for that wireless experience...
how would this work for people with glasses
All I'm worried about is the calibration. I see no calibration mode on that device.
Works fine with the Samsung S24 in Dex mode. I wish the Z Flip 5 had Dex.
Do I need the Beam to watch Nexflix, etc?
No, u can just connect it to your phone or laptop
Im confused on what these glasses do without the vean accessory
Can you wear reading glasses underneath? I'm old.
I still think none of them are getting the UI and control right. I think Viture with the neckband and a Bluetooth remote is getting the closest, but it needed esim. The FOV also needs to improve on all of these.
not any single reviewer mention about input lag while playing consoles game and xreal hdmi adapter 😒
Can these glasses make you dizzy sort of like a VR does?
they don't, since there's no movement - it's just a fixed translucent screen projected in front of you
How’s the eye fatigue / eye strain wearing these?
how they fare with the steam deck ?
I do think the fov when directly connected to device (MacbookPro) is just a hair wide and the very edge of one side is a bit blurred, but not bad. Thanks for the reply.
Do they compare to the Apple vr?
they're much more limited in some ways but of course the form factor is a big plus and they do let you see the actual reality instead of just a processed camera view of it.
Try to find a pair of old google glass.
Can the glass be connected to M1 Macbook Air directly - without using Beam?
No. Laughs in PC.
What about the built in 3dof that the viture has, but the xreal only with the purchase of the beam
Nice Product, just too many cables. Need an option for one cable for USB C and HDMI with a Power Passthrough for long Gaming Sessions.
In any angle and position.
that sure will make some super headaches... i wonder if u can use them regularly like playing game or watching a movie for 2 to 3 hours
Would I need my glasses to see the screen inside?
I was very close to buying this but I saw two that I know bought it and returned them. I'll wait for now
Seeing a presenter that looks like he works out makes me instantly respect them more.
finally, finally these type of glasses are becoming mainstream and getting WAY thinner. It'd bet most people would just think these are normal glasses.
1080P still too low rez. needs to be at least 2k at that FOV to be very usable for productivity
1080p per eye, and being limited to 72hz with the Beam(Using Body Anchor) is still perfect for Nintendo Switch. Wonder how long it will take until they integrate the body anchor setting, capped at 120hz, with no additional latency, larger FOV and with 4K per eye.
yeah the application I'm looking at is being able to use it as a large monitor as I'm a Travel Entrepreneur and I can't bring my giant monitors around with me everywhere :) @@NintenPizza
Unfortunately Sony (xreal use it) didn't make yet a screen with such resolution and size
bruh, the spec that matters here is ppd... its nearly 50 ppd ffs.. 2k at that fov would be over 80 ppd lmfao
Sean Booker is my new favorite reviewer!
Tell me you have low standards without telling me you have low standards. 🤣🤣🤣
This "review" wasn't in-depth at all.
@@PSYCHOV3N0M nobody said anything about being in-depth. It was concise, to the point, well-organized, well-framed, well-edited etc. Personally I like his voice and demeanour. Some people just have annoying voices (not their fault of course, just a fact).
Can i use it with my xbox360 with hdmi output with the adapter?
Didn’t you just made a video about this a few weeks ago?
would you be able to fly drones with these?
I had them and got rid of them because full HD is far from enough for me
Idk why, but I feel like people might end up cross eyed like they did in the movie “The Jerk” 😂
Actually it's the opposite. Your eyes are focused in the distance. Because it can be transparent I had my daughter walk until she was "behind" the screen and it was 12 ft away. So your eyes are focusing much farther than you would with a phone or computer screen. Same with VR headsets.
Can you get clear lenses instead? (Trying to link a handheld ultrasound to these glasses would be awesome)
awesome.. I can see a lot of use cases for this tech!!!!! I hope they can increase the battery life
It doesn’t use battery.
I used my Xreal Air 1 and have been very happy with my steam deck
Is the XREAL Air 2 Pro let to connect to PC which will be source of video and in the same time source of power?
Was utterly disappointed with the Pro 2, got the Beam with it. I was not prepared to have really tight horizontal boundaries/borders that kill immersion for me. Move your head slightly left or right and the sides of the screen cut off. You also have to keep fiddling with the nose adjustment to get the picture perfect. Massively overrated, so if you do purchase go in expecting the worst and you'll be ok.
Buying the Xreal adapter £49 plus the Apple av adaptor £45 that is an extra £94 for a product that cost £449 i find very disappointing and now considering sending the whole thing back as i can survive without it.
I'm currently using Nvidia's (discontinued) 3D Stereo Vision 2 glasses with outdated graphics drivers, because they don't work with newer nvidia drivers! They are a blast with many PC videogames! ewven with games that were not originally supported! 😎
yah i would tottaly buy it if it would be possible with no cable like it is with the quest, where i can connect with my computer without cable
Good addition
No mention that you cant use these if you already wear glasses, and that if you do want to use them you can shell out another £90 to a 3rd party company to add pop in lenses.
its pretty painful to the eyes so far and not hd at all. idk man I'll keep testing. just got it
Yea, this is what I want for my birthday
Not being able to connect it directly to your pc or xbox without that beam device it's a no buy for me.
Do a Beam video Versus Phone only pros and cons
I’d love to hear some people’s use cases for these
I plug it on my S23, have moonlight on android to stream and sunshine on PC to play games. VLC i have to watch 3D movies and Kodi to watch 2D, or Disney+, Netflix, etc...

I am a teacher that has to do a lot of babysitting during homeroom and recess time, now I can watch youtube / movies while making sure kids are safe on the playground.
I’m looking for a similar setup for my motorcycle so I can run gps/rear facing camera. I need something that has a smaller display size I believe.
