That was a roller coaster. You guys roasted him. Then lifted him back up. Then roasted yourselves. Then brought the attention to the chick and started roasting her. Hit the twist with some life advice. Threw us into the clouds so we could see the sun with our own eyes. Showed us the moon thru the fog. Life is a muddy trek but it’s nice to know you’re not alone
It's Rromani* but don't do that to yourself please! Lol At least look up their traditional Rromani music cause that's pretty cool...it's their culture. Joe was talking about the "genre" called "manele" which is actual trash.
As a Romanian...Joe listening to manele is the most hilarious thing I've ever heard I'm sweating!!!! lol But also...why is it SO HIM?? He's a real "cocalar" now lmao. I feel like I've always know this but now it's official!
@@Alexandra-jn2nr I was laughing out loud and freaking out just by myself in my room but my flatmates must've thought I was going crazy lol I wonder WTH did he search to find manele? Does it show up when you search gypsy music...or maybe even Romanian music? (God, I hope not lol.)
Thanks for this podcast, I'm a 19 year old guy and as I was listening to this, I saw instances that I did these things and in retrospect how I could have done better. Will try to keep this podcast in mind when I'm getting close to a girl next time. Keep up the great work guys, love your podcast👍✌😊
This podcast really hit home for me. I know when you guys are giving advice to the person it’s meant for them, but I reflect on myself a lot when listening to it. Thanks for saying it aloud since it’s something I know but not so easy to listen to.
I feel like I just grew two years older in the last hour. This podcast really called me out on my toxic behavior patterns. I guess you really think you've improved in handling relationships but you actually haven't and it's a learning process every day. I've been doing exactly what you both spoke about and I see it now. I was so wrong. Thanks for this David Joe :)
As you guys said, there has to be so much more to this story! It doesn't sound like a natural thing to just suggest someone who seems to have something going on (her also being a speaker) to have a career change or a side hustle. The hard thing is we're only getting half a side of a story here hm.
Its never too late to begin striving to become the best version of yourself. Its so much easier said than done and it won't happen over night. Because if you ask me, true and genuine change in life takes time and patience. Challenge yourself by doing all those uncomfortable things that future-you will thank you for having done. If you have social anxiety, step by step challenge yourself by socialising with people online and gradually working towards meeting people. If you ask me, developing a healthy mind and a healthy body will grant you a sense of confidence that is unparalleled
You guys really explained everything so well its 100% accurate and so relatable 😭 your advice gives me a little more confidence in trusting my own feelings, love your content as always 👏👏👏
There's a channel called The Take that does character, trope, and movie analysis. I'm pretty sure they did one on 500 Days of Summer on their video about the Manic Pixie Girl trope. They even said Summer repeatedly tells him she's not looking for a relationship but a lot of people didn't recognize that because they connected too heavily on the main character.
500 Days of Summer is one of my favorite rom-com-drams. And the movie literally says at the beginning, "This is a story of boy meets girl. But you should know up front, this isn't a love story." Every time I rewatch it, I see it more through this perspective. It's a great lesson.
I am glad you guys could read the perspective from a woman's point of view! Please talk to to these "Nice guys" that make us romantic objects, it is of the same essence as objectifying and it is not nice!
Holy shit dude I literally have problems that they discuss literally every single time joe comes on and they give me such clear perspective this is good shit
In this case, I think the keynote guy was clueless but there have been instances where red flags would show up and my brain would immediately suppress it. However, if the girl was erratic in the beginning he would've still recognized it even in retrospect. And there are people that expect you to read their mind and know what's wrong 🙄. I knew people that just didn't know how to communicate and others that would expect you to pull all the weight (usually the latter are abusive or toxic).
Okay, maybe it's bc I'm from the Bay Area, but I don't think ppl are saying Asians cant pull girls anymore, fam. I think y'all gotta let that go tbh 😂😂. Asian dudes pull just as many girls as anyone else. But like I said, I'm in norcal so maybe it's different other places? Idk
Growing up I saw so many guys caught up over one girl that left them and it’s so sad. Then they find someone else that’s more suitable for them and they finally see the light. Also, I honestly have to have conversations to stop putting a girl they like (never dated) on a pedestal and move on. It’s really frustrating trying to give someone advice (when asked to of course) and it’s hard for them to accept emotionally.
oh, I always thought that Americans used the word Gypsy to describe Romanians (east Europe). And I would get confused because Gypsies in Central Asia (where I live) do look a lot like Indians. I always wondered what connection Romanians had with our Gypsies. Now it makes sense
Romanians are of Latin descent like the French, Spanish, Italian...and Rromani aka Gypsies (usually an offensive term but most people don't care) are nomads but also our biggest ethnic minority here (still a small percentage of Romanians.) That being said, since they're nomads...Rromani live all over the world and their culture differs depending on the country they live in since they have no actual country of their own as a whole. The names being similar is just a coincidence but the Romanians being offended by it are just racist. Although thinking all Romanians are gypsy is pretty ignorant in my non-racist opinion. Lol
@@JumpingMuffinGirl i agree it's ignorant but the reason why people think Romani people are Romanians is because the biggest population of romani people live in Romania.
I don't know how you guys do it, but you guys always seem to open my mind out even further. Always try to think open minded and be cautious of an approach of something.
one of my professors said g*psy is a derogatory term and that the proper term would be to call them "Romas." she said that they call them g*psies because it was said that the woman would use their looks to steal from and trick people, so that they can survive. Usually wherever they go, because theyre known to drift from place to place, people would call them this and treat them like shit because of that stereotype. Pretty interesting to have learned. If you watched hunch back of notre dame (I know pretty random lmfao), they got it pretty spot on.
I feel so uncomfortable when I get compliments online. Talking to someone online and looking for friendship. It’s only been a few weeks and he keeps complimenting and how much they like talking to me, etc. I get uncomfortable with these comments because we barely know each other.
Sounds like he's just really insecure talking to women. You will have to be straight forward or avoid him. They don't realize they're doing it until someone points it out.
Joe listening to manele while running :D :D :D I'm dying, I would have paid to be there. Also, Romanians get upset when you confuse the 2 because the Romani/Roma/gypsies have a really bad image in Europe and since a lot of them are Romanian citizens some people can't tell the difference between the 2 (even though Romani are only about 10% of the population in Romania). It's like saying all Americans are Asian-Americans though in this case I don't think Americans would be upset as Asians don't have the bad image which the Romani have. I guarantee that if you were to confuse Romanians with Germans (not that anyone would) they wouldn't be upset.
Literally how I feel about my boyfriend. He says I love you at least 5 times in an hour when we're cuddling and "You're the best" at the same rate. I don't know how to bring it up without coming off like a fucking asshole who isn't grateful for him just for simply loving me the way he sees fit. I guess I have a problem being put on a pedestal or some shit.

U have a heart which dictates your auto response until you realize the facts and then you answer appropriately
Reference material indicate that gypsie come from the mistake that the Roma come from Egypt. Roma are said to originate in northern India.
I guess this is also why people we're not interested in gravitate to us more than the ones we do like and find attractive?
