Do we get other endpoint for read replica in aws rds mysql or do we get only one endpoint for primary, stand by and also the read replica ?
Just WOW!
Great video sir
What makes Aurora DB 5x faster than MySQL?
Thanks for watching this video. Interesting question .
Please note that ( It is with some workloads, Aurora can deliver up to five times the throughput of MySQL.)
d1.awsstatic.com/product-marketing/Aurora/RDS_Aurora_Performance_Assessment_Benchmarking_v1-2.pdf
It looks to be a combination of following points
- Aurora includes a high-performance shared storage subsystem which is SSD based
- Its MySQL database engines are customised to take advantage of that fast distributed storage
Main drivers seems to be
- Aurora pushes the log-replicator to the storage layer . Pages are constructed from the logs in the storage reducing the I/O
- 4/6 Write Quorum and Local Tracking is used - results in lightweight consensus mechanism

Good comparisons, though I think Aurora's replication is synchonize?
Thanks for taking time out to watch this video and also for your feedback.
If you check the 'What kind of replicas does Aurora support?' at
aws.amazon.com/rds/aurora/faqs/ it mentions about Replication Type as Asynchronous.
This is subtle here. Check out ruclips.net/video/uaQEGLKtw54/видео.html Thanks.
well made video
Thanks Sambit
Can you compare aurora provisioned & serverless with RDS also?
