The reason I'm getting high rolls is because it's attack level is 52 (base identity level + 2) while most attacks that it goes up against only have a level of 45, and I get +3 Attack Power Up every turn (when under 0 SP at turn start). That's why the forecast shows that it's max roll is 38, but then it spikes up to 40 (or in some cases, 39 and 41).

Also did form's ego always roll that much on corrosion or am I tripping balls?
