    My Shiba Inu was born wild and lived wild for about 8 years. He was not socialist by humans. I found him near death and helped him. He decides to stay with me and I never had any problem. I handle him on a co-operating basis and he always does what I want him to do. We rarely use a leash because he comes immediately when I call him and stays near to me in general.

    Long time owner of Shibas here and luv your videos! Two B & T's (God rest their souls!) and now a Sesame like yours, but a girl. IMHO, the best small dog breed on this planet! Our recent girl came from a breeder that also shows: Brooks has four generations of champions and grand champions in her lineage - she is the best! She's never been shown but stands like she is on display! That regal look, a true treasure breed!

    Just want to say thank you for making honest, non-clickbaity videos on your Shiba that speak to a number of topics. Some content creators with Shibas kinda say the same thing as Google over and over

    our Shiba is almost TOO friendly . she goes crazy with excitement when a visitor comes ,screaming , wagging her tails and greeting the person . when we have visitors that spend the night she wants to sleep with them and go for walks with them . she does get exhausted from all of the activities and attention so we have to keep her in our room at night to calm down . i'm pretty sure if a burglar broke into the house she would serve them coffee and cookies .

    These are some good points! And as a Shiba owner I can't stress point 1 enough, so I'm very pleased to see you mentioned it too!
    And I also let my dog learn new tricks every now and then to stimulate him (I did a lot more when he was a pup, but now I'm kinda out of ideas 😅, so I started agility with him and he loves it! ;D)
    I could recommend some tricks, but I don't know what you know? So, if you already know these tricks let me know, maybe I can give some other ones😂
    First, since I saw that you can already call him between your legs, try to let him stand on your feet and then walk with him some steps. It's a fun trick and people love to see it 🤣
    Another trick could be letting him look through his own paws. I call it "kuckuck" since I'm german and also because it reminds me of a game where you hide your face and show it again. 😂 Anyway, I let Paku put both paws on my forearm and then he needs to look underneath my arm at me, while the paws are still on my arm. It's tricky as Paku tends to remove the paws from my arm when I try to give him his treat. It's one of his harder tricks!😁 Good luck.

    I know this is just a simple "top 3" video but I just so wish I knew about other complex problems that might arise when training a Shiba Inu or any other similar breed. Because they are so cute and people constantly want to invade their space it's super easy for them to get reactive to people. Trying to solve their behavioural problems with more activity might lead to overexercising a puppy which can lead to hip dysplasia. Because of hip dysplasia we cannot even find enough of energy to socialise our 5 mo puppy anymore. All of her mental energy is directed towards her therapy and post-op recovery. I also need to focus very hard on managing her reactivity when we go out for walks to potty. Our walks are a mess mostly because of all the trash that is left out there in my neighbourhood. We are also unlucky that there's plenty of construction work in our area recently and the noise makes our puppy much more sensitive. Shibas are known to adapt to living in an apartment but with no balcony nor elevator I wouldn't do it again. Really, no amount of breed specific short guides and tips can prepare someone for raising those dogs. There are so many unexpected challenges and facing them with a Shiba puppy can truly make you regret having them in a moment. I love my girl but she's basically a part time job at the moment. Fixing mistakes we did in the first weeks just takes that much time and energy. I really want the best for her but I'm no longer sure I will be able to give her as good of a life as I would like.
    To anyone that's considering a Shiba Inu puppy: try at least to practice dog training with some other dogs to have any skill at the start. Correct, effective dog training is really hard to learn and obedience is really important in preventing reactivity that can lead to aggression.

      Can I ask how old they will be? Amounts are dependent on age, spay/neuter status, and exercise achieved in a day.

    • @aokiandanais

      Depending on the food you opt for, the package will tell you based on their weight. Make sure to stick to puppy food and topping fresh produce as well :) check with your vet :)

      If you can, brush with de-shedder at least twice a week and you’ll be fine. Mine loves being brushed. 🤷🏾‍♂️

    • @aokiandanais
      @aokiandanais  8 месяцев назад

      BAD 🥲 if you don’t like hair on you, in your house sometimes….in your food, Shiba Inus are a no go 😅 I have to vacuum everyday.

    • @RiRyn27
      @RiRyn27 7 месяцев назад

      Mine surprisingly not bad. But I brush at least once a week to once every two weeks. In the spring/summer, I use an undercoat rake to get rid of the old shed fur. Otherwise I use a slicker or metal comb brush like the furminator or a steel comb to do general brushing. They’ll still leave a couple fly-aways but I’ve not had any problems. (Granted, mine is 8.5 months). However, two words of advice: always brush them outside and they will eat their own brushed fur. 😂

      @@alexeran991 My dog's hair was spun into the wool when I used to spin wool. It made a wonderful yarn. You could sell the fur to someone who spins yarn if you can find someone. They are out there.
