You taught me a lot on how and what to expect with Shibas. I am expecting a Shiba 2 weeks from now. How do you control the dog from eating plants in your room? I saw that you have a monsterra, is it toxic for dogs?

Just got my boy a few weeks ago, he's turning 10 weeks old shortly :) the pups have so much energy - can't wait to see him grow up edit: my 10 week old is very energetic, he loves meeting new people and exploring outside, wants to bite everything lol. Only in the mornings, after our first walk, can I get him to cuddle up and sleep on my lap. Looking forward to getting him out and leash trained in the next few months and having him meet other doggos

Thank you for this video :) It's nice to get to know about the ups and downs of owning a Shiba. I always wanted one but in the end we got a standard poodle instead. I noticed that this breed is not the right fit for my life but I really love how you talked about it and it's always fun to see you and Aoki. Thanks for what you do! This helps others to find the right breed for them, which is so important / plays such a big role for being happy with your dog in the end :)

I‘ve been waiting for many years… I can‘t tell why, but I always thought a male suits better to me. I love your videos here on RUclips and all the insights of a shiba inu owner.

our Shiba is almost TOO friendly . she goes crazy with excitement when a visitor comes ,screaming , wagging her tails and greeting the person . when we have visitors that spend the night she wants to sleep with them and go for walks with them . she does get exhausted from all of the activities and attention so we have to keep her in our room at night to calm down . i'm pretty sure if a burglar broke into the house she would serve them coffee and cookies .

I got a 6 month old black and tan male, he is a confident type of dog. Very independent from day one, love people and other dogs. He does not like hugs, carry up, snuggle at all. I know he trust me and love me, but just not very attached to me physically.

My three year old Shiba, Gorbi is to me a dream dog! I feel his emotions and he mine. I enjoy your videos, thank you for sharing.

What a bore

We have two girls! Completely different personalities, even if they are half-sisters (same dad, different moms)! Our oldest, Hope (2 years), is more reserved, less cuddly, but loves people so much she wants pets from random people; Fate (1.5 years), our younger, is cuddly with me (I'm a man), not as much with my wife, but follows us both into bathroom and shower if she can/has to guard us from everything lol. Neither of them are bark-ish much at all, save when someone spooks them. Fireworks and loud noises and rainstorms are a 'whatever man' kind of thing to them too. I think some parts of the auditory must be related to the first few months and if they get the Neurological Stimulation from breeder and massive socialization when come home possibly. We want to get another one, which will be a boy named Luck, but we're stuck in an apartment with max of 2 for now, so we have to find a place here in Texas that can handle 3 pets+. We chose a boy (Simba) because of the physical characteristics as you say, we don't know any different regarding character although like his mum he loves the beach and the sea unlike one of his brothers from the same litter we know!

That is interesting tip to do the tricks, but sounds very energy consuming 😅. Recently i found some completely different approach for communicating with dog, which also was super interesting, because on long term i feel like i would be exhausted to all does sounds i have to make to make shiba do what i would like to. I mean i have cats and learn one few tricks using positive reinforcement, but i know nothing about dogs 😅 but got some time ago desire for having a Shiba so doing my reasearch. We have had our Shiba Inu for a month, and although he drives me nuts sometimes (ok, maybe 40% of the time), I love him so very much. I love a Pomeranian’s sweet and cuddly and in your face affection, so I didn’t think I’d bond with my Shibe (I got him for my husband). Ironically, our Shibe likes me better and will actually snuggle with me for naps. Gaining a Shibe’s trust and love feels like a true gift.

Had a Siberian, and really wanted one again, but since im moving a lot, i feel like it would be torture to keep them in an apartment, and shibas just hit that same loveable specific personality for me, while not being as big and as hyper all the time

Mine is neutered and he’s turning 4 next month. He’s most of the time sleeping or watching birds through the screen door. He’s lazy in the mornings most times. He likes going out and riding in the car. He is energetic towards late afternoon till 9pm or so. But like Aoki, he’s “lazy” also. 😁😆

Hey nice channel. Got our puppy last week. How long does the INSANE UNCONTROLLABLE ENERGY first thing in the morning last? It’s honestly like an explosion. We think it’s cute but our cats don’t 😂
