- Project Big Blaze has already been upgraded on the outside with a proper stance and power under the hood. But what about the interior? Now, it's time to re-work the interior before topping it off with a soft-top.

I used to watch this show every sunday morning while having my breakfast as a kid
And wonder if you were going to be as fast as them. Haha. It's never as easy as they do it! Haha
Same. I wish there more shows like this on TV or on RUclips. I know Stacey David is still doing a show and it's basically the same show except more than Trucks. Everyone is trying to make the next Top Gear, but we need more shows like this.

This series is why I bought a rust free 87 Jimmy with zero rust and only 70k in October of 2000 when I was 19. Only paid $4500 back then. Sold it in 2005. Wish I still had it. Black with the grey interior
Can't believe you screwed holes for that bed top on the side of that nice original blazer why wouldn't you make some brackets to bolt into the original holes where the top goes or call soft oper and get a nicer one

That soft top looks great but I cringe when I think about drilling into classic sheet metal like that.
when that episode aired the blazer was only 12 years old. this episode is older than the blazer.
That's why I got one from soft topper. It uses the existing holes so you don't have to drill any. Im not putting holes in my truck.

@@billmorton6977 the top comes with rails that bolts in the factory holes for the hard top and snaps onto the rails. The company is called soft topper.

I wouldn't use a soft top on BIG BLAZE because it would be very easy to break into, but I love the seats and carpet
I have a 77 Blazer that is a good start to restoration and am wondering if y'all do project trucks like this for your show?

I see a crappy job of painting the floor. They didn’t show them actually painting it, but you can see the drips at the tailgate.
And rust or something by edge of floor where tailgate sits

i cannot imagine why in the world you would opt for that soft top over the original fiberglass top too much money maybe install a custom roll bar instead
Soft top is a lot easier to remove by yourself. I had a soft top on my 81 k5, the rear window was a bowtie. It didn't have the rear now, it went from the rear of the to the top of the tailgate.
Those seat covers are FN terrible.
That top looks cheap and the mounting technique is horrible. Softopper makes a much more superior product with a much better engineered mounting solution.
Mel sounds like he has allergies or a cold...

I have an 88 Blazer overlander project and whenever I'm running low on motivation to continue the build, I come back and watch this series. By the end of episode 6 I'm always itching to get back in the garage
Personally I think the soft top looks incredibly tacky and just dint look good, they look even worse on the bronco, but look great on the jeep
Agreed, the fiberglass top looked way cooler. You can't tell it's a Blazer without it.

I hate those vynal tops on Blazers. I'd much rather had the original top painted like the rest of the truck.
I wouldn't have replaced that top. Anyone that has ever had a Jeep as daily knows those soft tops suck.

I had a 75 K5 blazer. I bought it for three thousand dollars in 1985 sold it for three thousand dollars in 1994. I've recently seen it for sale for thirty thousand dollars.
Why not strip metal to bare metal no rust and paint it with rust-oleum
The paint stinks for a few days then it doesn't fumes any more

@@paliacho9 if this is the k5 that they painted orange... It was found stripped of the engine, wheels, bumpers,etc. They put generic stock bullshit back on it and it would up for sale. I loved this build always been a big fan of the K5 blazers.

The problem with the soft top is anyone with a knife can take your things pretty fast
