It was odd to hear SARS commissioner going on about people not wanting to pay tax - Surely he understands the only reason for this stance , is the gross industrial scale looting of billions with ZERO consequences . Every individual and business would gladly pay even more taxes , BUT the theft , looting and poor use of available of funds on incompetent public servants who deliver nothing is what has to be sorted out. How many billions have been stolen and wasted and which of the new instant billionaires are in jail. This is the key bone of contention. The infantile method of throwing money at problems is a total failure . Funds should be deployed only when those using them are terminally responsible for measured outcomes and if they don't perform they must be fired.
The conundrum of economic growth...vs....the conundrum of population growth! Social expenditure will only increase! Debt will only increase! The country's economy will fail inspite of all the tax Sars collects! What a waste!
