@@SaperPl1 I’ve made Lego tanks in the past. The torsion bar suspension is real simple. The longer the axle is, you’ll get a great amount of torque for the wheel to go upwards.
@@vinsterrod9176 I know the idea, but I'd like to build it around something that won't break easily. It's one thing that it actually worked like this IRL, the second thing is that potentially making a model like this is prone to the model breaking those axles, and also risk of breaking axle sockets sitting on those torsion bars. For small models it's ok, but this Sherman model will weight over 2kg.
Definitely thinking about the M3 Grant, the Lee would be too cumbersome I think, but will have to get a hub with support for 6 motors. Other than that, I don't have a solid design for a torsion bar suspension that many other tanks used. it would have to go underneath the chassis that I made for Sherman which means it would get even taller, I think. If not that one issue, making a Tiger out of Technic panels at this scale should be easy.
even if it's just an outline, that is some impressive panelling, can't wait to see the design for turret also, which exact variant is it that you're planning to build?
M4A1, the cast hull variant with 75mm gun, so more rounded turret. The 76mm variant turret is a bit more tricky at this scale, I think. I have the whole hull and most of the turret outlined in studio model, but I won't spoil the fun because some things will definitely have to change when I'll make a physical prototype :)
@@SaperPl1 whether it is the 75 mm M3 or the 76 mm M1, the round turret is still going to be a challenge, I'm really curious on what you're solution is to that but either way, keep it up, your builds are amazing!
My tank’s cables are a mess, everything works but the turret can’t freely rotate at all and things get stuck fairly easily. Guess it’s just the price you have to pay for a working gun.
You should make the tiger tank next! This Sherman is looking great!
Will have to figure out torsion bar suspension for the Tiger, but yeah, that should be easy to make with Technic panels.

That's looking amazing already
Are you thinking of making other tanks as well when you are done making the Sherman?

I would love to build this as a kit when you're done
I would love for CADA to accept this as a kit. We'll have to see :]
