The suspension also protects you from side impact it raised the car when sensing anything moving toward you so the frame takes the hit, not the door.

@@Bosna293 Stathams car had a W12 engine. This car deserves the majesty and opulence of 12 cylinders. That V8 is good, but Its in just about everything, nothing special. At this price/level, Id want something unique.
To think the S8 had a V10 once upon a time. The RS6 even stuck 2 turbos on it.
Id have been more impressed with a V8 with electric assist.

Cant lie, that suspension is CRAZY!
This for me has always been my most favorite of the German "flagship" cars. It's just so stylish and elegant compared to either the 7-series or S-class. Plus I think Audi does some of the best luxurious interiors with their cars lately.

The dislikes are from those who just collected their A8 and wish they bought this...
They dislikes might also be from people who recognize how much this Audi is "borrowing" from the BMW Group's Rolls Royce. Usually, reviewers mention who did something first, otherwise it begins to feel like an infomercial.
@Martin Evans brands copy each other all the time. It's not just Audi. That said, we should give credit where is due. They copied i-drive and a few other things. It doesn't make their products less than. However, a reviewer should mention things like that in regards to objectivity.

@@szabolorant2681 cars are getting too fancy and expensive to fix. The local garage used to be able to sort things but it's getting harder. Trouble is, I can't afford brand new ones.

I think everyone’s minds have became too distorted on what a good design is these days, too many angles, to many sharp edges, too many spoilers. Cars look ridiculous nowadays. This design is very supple and will look amazing 30 years from now. So refined and gorgeous. This is an instant classic. Mark my words. The absolute pinnacle of a luxurious, good looking, sporty and practical car. Mark my words. This car in a good example 10 - 20 years from now, or if some sort of a special edition comes out in the future, WILL appreciate. It’s just epic.
I just feel a flat bottom steering will really match the interior.

Yup also have the A8. Couldn't agree more about this car. They are Amazing cars . Mercedes s class And BMW 7 series watch out. This is best blend of technology, comfort and class

Fast forward 5 years: FOR SALE - 2020 Audi S8, 82,000km, air suspension needs service, missing rear touch pad, heated windshield inoperative, otherwise incredible! $9000 OBO

I think the Audi S8 is the best luxury sedan in the market. The Audi S8 has a beautiful simple design, an intelligent suspension, a quiet cabin, great handling, high tech infotainment system and a powerful engine.
Brilliant car. Rory Reid is the best reviewer - Rory should be the future of top gear.

Another informative and well presented review. I can't understand how the BBC let this guy go to be replaced by the current Muppet Show on Top gear. I think Rory and Matt Watson along with possibly the guy from High Peak Autos (for his dry northern wit) would make a great team to rival Hammond, May and Clarkson. But I think they should be left to their own creative presenting talents and not try to be moulded into what the BBC thinks we want. Just my opinion.

Great videos, great presentation. I used to have an old D2 S8. Not sure this latest version is going to be so easy to own outside if the manufacturers warranty! More like trying to run an aircraft. Just imagine how many faults it will have when it's 10 years old and on its 3rd owner who can't really afford to run it!

I had an exact copy of the Ronin... the first two i had were 6-speed manual shifter blue S8's but later i found the perfect green 6-speed manual S8. Loved it!
This and the new Bentley Flying spur are both so incredible

@@radioactivet-rex286 you can do it, but to pay 80.000 € more just for "BENTLY" is useless, get the 4 seats in the back of the S8 and u get a feet message, better tablets or screens, a better table, LED matrix reading lights and a better ambient light. And plus the A8/S8 Interior is more, more cool 😉😃

I love Rory Reid and he was great on TG and especially in his solo bits. But that show rests on the chemistry of the presenters together and while he was great - like LeBlanc and Harris too - as a threesome they felt professional but never that natural.
I was hugely sceptical of the new line up at TG but it’s been a blast to watch so I think they made a good call.
I don’t see the internet as being a demotion for Rory - he’s doing the stuff he does brilliantly, having fun and getting clicks and getting paid.

Can only speak from personal experience....Had A 3.0 Tdi A8 in 2008 till 2014. Covered 120,000 miles. Other than pads and discs and a single bulb together with annual service not a squeak or rattle or issue. Just checked it on the MOT history checker and it’s now up to 196,000 miles.
I have 23 year old A4 290 000 miles and never fixed anything in it

It has a 1.6 liter b5 and it only had some broblems at a rear breack
A lot of technology packed in this fast sleeper. Always liked the S8.
Thank God no V6 diesel like the other S cars.

Very nice but they could’ve at least gotten rid of the four spoke steering wheel for their sporty three spoker.
Yes ! It looks like they just used the same steering wheel from the A8. It takes away from the sporty look.

The perfect daily driver. You have this for the weekdays and an R8 for the weekends.

TriHard Cx yeah been looking at them aswell ha but I aint selling the rs6 as it way too low mileage for an 04 I’ve had from new as it’s only done 38k
Its refreshing to see a very subtle looking performance saloon these days! This is sleeper material.
I appreciate the simple fact that it doesn't have black wheels and grille.
D3 S8 still a more harmonius exterior design front back and sides. V10 was cool too
