God bless the cabin crew aboard Saudia 163. The final report released by Saudi investigators lauded the cabin crew's actions as heroic: "All evidence indicates that the cabin crew functioned normally; in fact, they acted commendably. They attacked the fire as well as they could and, at the same time, did everything they could to calm the passengers. They also made every attempt to keep the captain advised of the very serious nature of events occurring in the passenger cabin and to extract from him the essential order to evacuate immediately on landing." What makes the loss of Saudia 163 even more tragic is that Saudia flight attendants in 1980 had the authority with or without captain's orders to execute an emergency evacuation. I believe by the time the cabin crew were about to prepare the Tristar for an evacuation, most if not all passengers were either incapacitated or already dead due to carbon monoxide poisoning... The loss of Saudia 163 has to be the most PREVENTABLE aviation accident in history...
Saudi officials found two butane stoves in the burned-out remains of the airliner, and a used fire extinguisher near one of them. One early theory was that the fire began in the passenger cabin when a passenger used his own butane stove to heat water for tea.
@@Sahilprakash1999what matches? and also like I said we don’t know how the fire started, it only started in the cargo hold. (Specifically the C3 cargo hold)
I portray Captain Mohammed Ali Khowyter in S24 Ep 8 “Under Fire”. RIP to the passengers and crew 🙏🏼

This is false. Fire didn’t begin in passenger compartment. But in cargo hold.

كابتن الطائرة اخطأ اخطاء كبيرة كلفتهم الوقت الكافي للاخلاء
but why did the Captain didn't declare an emergency when the fire was onboard
I think it’s because the crew were inexperienced and had shown poor performance.
He had low IQ apparently
Poor communication and the captain didn’t think it was serious.
Definitely an interesting difference compared to the World in Action dramatization.
Unrelated but the actor of the flight engineer kinda looks like a younger Michael from Vsauce
Where can I watch these?
RIP to everyone in that flight
What were these pilots thinking ???
how and why does the fire onboard Saudia Flight 163 has happened
We don’t know how the fire started, the only thing we know about the fire is that it started in the cargo hold.
@@AnAverageL-1011 the matches caused the problem

@@AnAverageL-1011 well it is the matches is caused the fire inside the cargo hold
I don’t remember that there were matches in the C3 cargo hold, and also is this a theory or not?
301 deaths too many
May Allah was be protect you, Ameen, R.I.P. for Saudia 163
It was blatant incompetence
This was a survivable incident if the pilots weren't mediocre.
