What I enjoy the most is that the tools you use are not expensive and are easy to find at either home improvement or big box department stores. Your instructions are clear and easy to follow, and I believe that even those who think they have no "talent" can duplicate your results with a little practice. Professional results at dollar store prices. Thank you, Monster Tutorials, and keep creepifying on!
Thank you!!
I can attest to this, just tried this tutorial today and I'm happy with the results, though I think I went a little heavy on the paint. I'll give it another go for sure until I have a whole pumpkin patch of rotties

I'll bet you could make some very realistic looking decomposing corpses using this method on foam skulls! Like the standing corpses in the catacombs, in their suits and dresses.
Elaura W incidentally, he _has_ done a tutorial on how to make realistic, charred flesh on cheap plastic skulls, using expanding foam and paint. It's incredible, you should check it out!
I just watched this and kinda thought the same thing. One of my nieces' loves Day of the Dead skulls. It'd be cool to do a painted skull and then try and do something like this. I'll have to watch that other video that Foot Lettuce suggested.
I had a 60 lbs pumpkin, I grew it. I can witness that after a year it looked just like your pumpkins. I didn’t carve it. I just couldn’t move it, so there it sat. 🎃
Whoa! That's a serious pumpkin. I bet the wildlife loved munching on it.
Prbly bees flies& gnats everywhere😨😂😂

Your instructions are very clear, and helpful. I've noticed with a lot of tutorials they would just tell you to get craft pumpkins, but not tell you about the differences with each kind.
Thank you!!
I tried doing the dollar store version from watching this tutorial and it turned out awesome!! I didnt do the plastic wrap part and it still turned out great!! Definately make sure it's well ventilated area cuz it did smell when using the heat gun like he mentioned...so follow his instructions and it wont disapoint!! Great tutorial!!!
I took a pic of the final product but I cant figure out how to post it here...it looks soo cool...I totally recommend subscribing to this guys channel...if you're a serious crafter and love halloween...he does the best tutorials!!
Just upload it to the Monster Tutorials FB group facebook.com/groups/MonTutChallenge
Cheers,
ET
you know they would look great on stakes throughout your haunt. varying heights with lights
good video
thank you
Yeah, that's a Great idea! Thanks, now that's what I'm gonna do for sure!
Definitely! The first picture I put on Insta was of a rotten pumpkin skewered on a branch!
Cheers,
ET
Edie Bluntzer like nightmare before christmas.
This just popped in my recommendations, and I am better for it. Those pumpkins look super creepy and perfect for Halloween. You are amazingly awesome! Subscribed.
Thank you!!
I hope you take this the right way, but you are the Bob Ross of decay
Lol!! Love it!! Spot on!
These look amazing -- almost like the super expensive ones they sell at Transworld. Bravo! And best of all, super easy. Thanks - I will be using your technique now and ditching my paper mache method of rotten pumpkins!
Thanks!
As someone who doesn't have a lot of expendable income but also loves going nuts on Halloween, this channel is a godsend. Can't wait to make a few of these to spook the neighbor kids this year. Thanks! 🎃
Thanks!
Delirium same here
I actually made my own rotten pumpkins this year out of dollar store ones. I found that if I gently ran a flame close to the styrofoam, it would bubble, and if I touched it it would make interesting holes/ dents. So I used fire. Then used the paints. And they came out really well. I'll have to try your method next year. Thank you for the tutorial.~
This guy is the best- I can listen to him all day!
Thank you!!
Omg thank you!!! This year I'm going to do an abandoned pumpkin farm. I didn't know how to age my pumkins. Thank you!!
Awesome!!
Just tried this with a dollar store pumpkin. It took me minutes and looks very cool. I'm going to make a bunch. Thanks!
Creepy cool! The grimace on the largest pumpkin is so good.
Probably the best thing I’ve seen for creepy Halloween DIYs and I might try making some myself
They look great thank you for you time and step by step instructions.
I totally agree with what Nancy Ware wrote - everything is straight forward- you clearly demonstrate your techniques. I applaud your beautiful, rotten pumpkins. They will look great in a graveyard setting with some ground-breaking corpses coming out and some other spooky monsters. I am inspired.
Those pumpkins looks so realistic! I am definitely going to try this one.
Thanks!!
ET
Love your channel! There was one I used to follow years ago called Dr Kreepy who would do Halloween tutorials like this but he stopped posting. Yours are great!
Thanks!
You are absolutely amazing I put on a crazy display every year. Now I have alot of DIY displays to add to my yard because of you. The kids love my yard at Halloween but I think you just added a whole different level to our Halloween. It's all for the KIDS and that's what it is all about..... thank you keep them coming
Thank you!!
I thought that the pumpkins look really cool. Looks like I've got a new project for halloween! Thanks!
Already went to the store and bought pumpkins and was waiting for this! I can't wait to add these to my yard! As always THANK YOU for doing what you do, my yard and I appreciate you
Thank you!
I know...two years later and I found this! I actually followed your directions and these are amazing!! Thank you so much!!!
Officially in the Halloween mood now! Awesome video. Thanks!
Wow this is so creative and look very spooky Halloween for porch tfs 🎃🎃🎃
The pumpkins are disgustingly beautiful, thank you, I can stomach🤮 these props easier than having to rid a real rotting pumpkin😳
I just wanted to say thank you for the great tutorials. Your glue and toilet paper corpsing technique has been a life saver. I have used it to make some magnificent creations from otherwise cheap junk. I haven't tried this one yet, but I will be making some of these very soon.
You, sir, are a remarkable artist.
My friends weren't very keen on Halloween until I showed them your videos and now they are obsessed with your videos
Awesome!
Thanks!
Edwardo, you never stop impressing me. This is out standing. I can not wait to try this myself.
Thanks!
Super cool! Looks like legit rotting pumpkins.
I made some of these last week with hopes that it will be safe to go trick or treating this year, and they turned out great. Your instructions are spot on and easy to follow. I kinda added a little spin of my own that I thought I would share. After all of the paint dried, I put a thin layer of carpenters glue in the areas where you would expect the mold to really grow fast and heavy. Then I lightly stuck some cotton balls to the wet glue. When the glue dried I pulled the cotton balls off and it created a white fuzzy mold look.
Your channel is amazing!! Thank you for sharing your ideas with us. Definately will be trying it out!!
Thanks!!
Loved this! I even have dollar store pumpkins from last year
I look forward to trying this. Great idea ! 🎃
Love these! They are awesome! Going to do some for halloween. Thank you for sharing
Man, I grabbed a Dollar Tree pumpkin the other day, and was kinda bummed that the stem got chipped/broken in transit after the shopping. BUT, NOW, that's isn't even an issue if I do this to it LOL. WIN! Lurve this :)
This is by far the BEST pumpkin tutorial I’ve seen yet!! Very impressive. Thank you, sir! 🎃
These are fantastic! I bet if you made enough it could make an amazing archway. Ooooo! 😍 I may have to try...
Lori Thomas ....ooh, great idea. Or a big wreath....off I go... 🎃
@@Circlewisewoman01 oooo yes! A wreath. Good idea also!
Your creations never fail to amaze me.
I believe those with the coolest pumpkins I've seen yet and very affordable!! And so creepy love love love you tutorial!
WOW these are awesome. Don’t know how you thought to try this but I’m glad you did. I want to try this
Clever. Could also be a good way to keep a couple of appropriate-aged kids busy for an entire day if you have them involved in the shopping and outdoor bench setup and such. Make too many? Sounds like a trip to a local senior center, public library, etc. to make a donation.
I was going to make a scarecrow later in the year and being able to use a dollar store pumpkin would definitely save a lot of money to put towards other decorations. The mold really helps sell it.
Thank you for this tutorial! My sons and I enjoyed recreating this! The step by step instructions were Easy to follow Eduardo 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thanks for the tutorial. Those pumpkins are cool
Using a stipple sponge would also help with the texture of the rotting pumpkin or the mold.
I love this! Can't wait to make my own crew of rotten pumpkins! Thanks for this awesome tutorial!!
I love that you rock a fog machine in the house. Great concept using heat and solvents to eat the foam. You could tack them all to a board and intertwine some fake ivy around them to have an evil pumpkin patch! Love the crazy cat crack!
Thanks!!
I bought a bunch of the dollar store pumpkins to make not so scary centerpieces, had some left over. Came to youtube to find some ideas, and this is exactly what I was looking for! Even better I have everything you used! Brilliant and the adding of the "mold" really is perfect! Subscribed!
Such a great tutorial. Thanks!
Just the tutorial I have been looking for! Simple, straight to the point.
Oh I LOVE these!! Not only awesome but so easy!
So glad to have found your channel - and I am LOVING all these fabulous tutorials! Thank you so much for sharing your talents!
This is so impressive. You are immensely creative!
I don't know how I am just finding your channel now, but these pumpkins are amazing and I am definitely going to be making them for Halloween. Cheers!
Love this rotten pumpkin tutorial. They look so good and its not too difficult to create them.🎃🎃🎃
I just stumbled across your channel (and subscribed :-) ).
These pumkins look disgusting and AWESOME!!! What a cool idea! I really want to make some of these now! Thank you for sharing this great tutorial! :-)
Thank you!
Upload in August 28th whoa......... You wher supper perpaird. I'm not alone.
These are really bad ass and I also really like that all the supplies are inexpensive and easy to find and use. DIY done easy but it looks super difficult! Awesome.
I came here for the crafts and ended up watching for the beard and stash, it's cute as fuck..... you make so really cool things tho I'll definitely be trying some of them
Thanks!
Cheers,
ET
You were right about the smell from the milted foam. So I made mine outside. Now I need to make lots more. Okay just spray painted them...OMG !! love them.
Awesome job on these easy, rotten pumpkins. Thank you for sharing🎃
Yours are super awesome though...so cool looking!
Cheers,
ET
I just happened across your channel and I must say I LOVE IT. Can't wait until I can binge watch. I like tar you are doing it with 98% of stuff I already have on hand. you show and explain things so well
Love your tutorials, I've made a few of the dollar store pumpkins and the mummified fairy.
I just completed this tutorial. I can't stress enough what Eduardo said about taking the pumpkins outside during the heat gun phase. Even outdoors with plenty of ventilation, the fumes from the Joann or Hobby Lobby pumpkins are terrible! I may wear a mask next time I try this.
OMG, these rotten pumpkins came out fabulous! I'm going to try to make some, great job dude 🤗 👍🏼
Loving this and I don't even 'do' Halloween. Particularly like the candle lit variety and they would ideally compliment any Halloween scene. 10 outa 10.
Came for the spooky, stayed for the crafty. Awesome stuff, man!
🎶Pumpkins Scream in the Dead of Night🎶. 🎃
This is awesome! Such a great idea!
🎃 This is Halloween 🎃
What a neat idea..... and not expensive at all.....easy to follow instructions. Will follow your site.
Dude, those are awesome! Can’t wait to try this out
You are awesome! Love what you have done with the pumpkins.
Can’t wait to make these this year!! Couldn’t stop smiling through the whole video
Great idea, thanks for the tutorial!
I think I like how it looks before the white and green best, but it looks super cool! I think I'll make these for my halloween party this year!
Great job! Definitely gonna do 1 or 2 of these to set out with the real Jack-o-Lanterns. Gotta do the real ones for roasted pumpkin seeds and doing the traditional family thing. Once again, great work!
Thanks Jerry!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Hoping to try this out for our Halloween this year!
Best Halloween DIY I’ve seen in years!!!
You truly make the most Amazing and original creations. They are easy to follow and use materials that are easy for me to get a hold of. I just discovered your channel and have been binging on your content. I can't wait to make the spell book and the lantern. You've made me excited to craft again.
Thanks!!
Extremely cool idea, I will definitely look if I can find some of these foam pumpkins, they will make "sweet" little Halloween gifts for friends... And thanks again for sharing the idea with the shrinking foil, I already got an idea where I can use this effect for other projects too...
Beautiful job! I will be trying this this weekend, thank you for the tutorial!!!!
I see you're a year round Halloween kind of guy, I like that
I am actually going to try this one! These look amazing!!!!!!!! AND SO CHEAP AND EASY! Makes me wonder why in the world have I not thought of this??? Awesome work on these. Very inspiring for my DIY Halloween decorations!!
This is the best use of those dollar store pumpkins I have seen yet, awesome.
Great tutorial!!! Easy to understand...i think i like the pumpkins better without the mold though.
I really enjoy your tutorials. Thanks for doing these...but these rotten pumpkins look fantastic!
How about glow in the dark paint (Michaels)? Going to try that. Thank you for a great tutorial. Love your tutes.
Great idea!
You're freaking brilliant. Those dollar store ones are magnificent!
Those are friggin amazing,I will for sure be making some of these.
You sir are a spooky genius
Before and after, what a difference!
Really liking how these turned out. Awesome job and thanks for sharing such an sweet tutorial! 👍
Thanks!!
I got great results from following the instructions. Keep em coming.
I wonder if you'd be able to put some sort of shellac or coating on the dollar store ones so that they could blister up like the expensive ones do and get that nice coating. Because I really love the hollow ones and the fact that you could put a candle in there but I really like the way the expensive ones melt better.
I just made a bunch of these and they turned out AMAZING! Your tutorial was spot on. Thanks!
And thanks to you now I know how mold grows so that might help me in the future
I admire your work and have watched your channel for over a year. Was wondering if you can do something in a Creepy Plague Doctor theme?
Keep on with the awesome Halloween tutorials!! I enjoy the imagination put in it!!
Definitely, that's on my list.
Thanks!!
Love your channel and your tutorials!! Suggestion? Would you ever use Glow in the Dark paint to highlight the mold as well? I use it on my projects and what I like about it is that it is "invisible" till it glows so it doesn't interfere with you existing paint. Just a thought. Keep up teh great work!!
That's a great idea! I'll have to try that.
Cheers,
ET
