Without the fans, these comic properties would have never reached the heights of pop culture they are now.

I don't really care if they change the race of a character, however I don't like it when Hollywood only does it to Shield criticism, like if they make a bad movie, and people point out it's bad, they will just call you racist, or just any ist/phobic under the sun

Not everyone critical of race-swapping is a racist monster. I would never prefer a black character to be turned white. I also like the occasional race-swap like Ariel, and Nick Fury. But the moment I said "why did they make Sarah in the Last of Us HBO show black when she dies almost instantly?", I was called racist. I know I'm not racist, that accusation doesn't make any sense.

The argument only works if we’re talking to people who claim EVERYTHING is woke & actually are bigoted. Race swapping is lazy. No we shouldn’t have raceswapping & original characters, that’s basically like having moldy leftovers with your freshly grilled burger. Ask yourself why would company make an original black character if raceswapping does the trick & is easier?!

Too be fair most reasonable people who didn't like the Wally change was because the Flash they had known for almost all their life was erased from existence and replaced by someone who didn't really act like the original character that the writers intended them to be. In general, I have more of a problem with that aspect and the idea of reboots/bringing characters back to life. Especially with Dc comics since the world's most interesting aspect is that things changed, and new faces rise to power. I would like to also add that even if the reboot never happened, I would have rather seen Bart as flash since that's just how things ended up. He brought something new and fresh. The only exception would bring Wally's family back and have him die or retire in a more fitting matter than SPEED FORCE NONSENSE.
    Cool Video btw

    Lol sorry for random rant.
Shorter version, I like new additions when done right. If not done right, I'm still cool as long as the chnage was done with reason and they have a solid direction.
I just wish these new characters would be given more spotlight as a good deal of them are better than the original or at least the basic stale 30 year plus versions of the characters that are still getting pushed for no reason. (Example Wally West Flash, Kyle Rayner's Green Lantern, Grayson's Batman, Kaldur Aqua Lad, Tim Drake as Robin, Jaimi Blue Beetle, and Cassandra Cains Batgirl. Just to name a few who I think are better interpretations of a pre-existing heroic mantle than their predecessor.)
Wow that wasn't much short, lol sorry bought that.
Also, I liked the Miles books when they started, just not Miles, but your frustration is understandable lol

You seem to acknowledge that the quality of a character is based on how well they are written and not on the color of their skin in case of Johnny Storm, but somehow missed how badly written Ironheart, Miss Marvel and Reeva are And many more. Majority of fans who complain about diversity don't do that because they are racist who can't handle any changes to their imagagination of the source material, but because they are noticing a clear correlation between pieces of media being marketed as woke and diverse and them being a badly written disappointments. It's not always the case of course, but the correlation is real and no wonder fans stated to associate diversity with bad writing after 50th lazy prequel/spinoff/reboot. Companies made easy profit by making fans bitter and angery and now they are exploiting that bitterness and anger by using the exceptions from woke=bad rule to prove that fans actually are racist homophobes and thus their voice shouldn't matter, because that way those companies will invalidate voices of all people who care enough for source material to call out a bad adaptation.
So I think you missed the point here. Vilifying the fans is what people who are aiming to make a lot of money with bad writting want you to do and excusing bad writting with diversity (you do it in your video even though you also call it out) is exactly what makes fans apprehensive about representation and diversity.

Nah, you're just taking away representation from the people who liked them being white. Also, "original" My ass. When was the last time a non white character was created and have their own title WITHOUT leaning on existing white characters as a crutch? Completely original like Peter Parker for example.

    • @bunceman4613
      @bunceman4613 Год назад

Ah yes the iconic white representation of...Johnny storm. The character whose personality has nothing to do with being white. Really, is it not so hard to think the casting crew said 'man this character has no traits regarding his background' and then just open the casting from there?

@@bunceman4613 Following your logic, those whining about whitewashing hold no merit. Complaining that the Ancient One is played by a white woman is just as dumb as keeping Johnny Storm white.
Why not a white Cyborg or Spawn? They don't need to be black.

@@thefuriousfrank3001 most fans don’t read comics. They’re just casual fans watching shows and movies. But to anyone whose read the comics, phase 4 is actually pretty grear.
Episode 8 of SheHulk is one of the best things the MCU has ever made.
Look I hate Disney, they are corrupt and destroy anything they directly control, like how they did with the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
But the MCU is pretty much under the creative control of Kevin Feige, and as a genuine comicbook fan and a MCU fan, phase 4 is the best phase and has the most comicbooky writing ever adapted. Fans aren’t capable of appreciating that because they’ve never read comics.
