Using counterfeit currency is a crime. They were called and went to investigate said crime. It without a doubt escalated far beyond what it should have and unfortunately cost George Floyd his life, but these rioters do not care about Floyd or justice. They hijacked what initially was peaceful protests and turned it into violent and destructive rioting, looting, assault, and murder.

The video of the murdering of Mr. George Floyd reminded me of some moments I lived in Syrian during the revolution, and even though I am not an American citizen yet, I feel obligated to speak my heart during these moments and address myself as a proud member of this nation. Everyone knows that America is the leader of the free world. It is time we prove it right. White citizens making a barrio around the African American peaceful protestors to protect them from any sort of clashing with the police. Policemen taking the knee, and marching with the protesters to show support. Protesters protecting a policeman who was separated from his unit. Protesters protecting shops from looters. As great as these acts are, I think that to be the world's ideal leader, we should do better. There’s a pandemic going on, and safety measures should be taken. 4 to 6 ft spacing is important and required to prevent any further casualties. Burning police stations, cars, or hurting officers can only fuel the arguments against this noble cause. This reminds me so much of Syria back on March Friday the 25th in 2011 when my hometown Homs took the first step on the way to freedom. I remember while marching with hundreds of people chanting against injustice and oppression, tens of ZIL trucks full of AK 47 armed forces surrounding us then shooting aimlessly, committing yet another massacre. The threats of the American president and the image he printed in my head, reminded me of a lot of that horrific act against peaceful protestors. These are times when the government should stand with the people. Justice must be served. The response of the system came late and light in the form of a third-degree murder charge after a few days and only against one officer. The whole world is watching, and the government should make an example that to be written in history books. I feel afraid for this nation, and I hope that my message will play a part in the next chapter, proving to the world that America is great.

that’s a smoke canister, that’s not CS gas. CS gas has a slight yellow tint. Ask anyone who’s served... me. One of the things you do in training is a gas chamber with CS gas AKA tear gas. No tear gas was used. It was smoke to impair visibility to non lethally move protestors.

They need to put more of a focus on the peaceful protesting then on the riots. If you care more about the riots then the peaceful protesters who are trying to make a change, you have completely missed the message. This is about racism and about ending police brutality, not about the people taking advantage of the situation and destroying or looting places (which is not how the peaceful protesters want to bring their message across). I know I am privileged and I will never understand the struggle, but I am with them and I will support them no matter what. We can all do something to help and make a difference.
