@TwoGunGunnar I've studied Cheung's WIng Chun for about 20 yrs. I've tried many other WC inside and outside YM. YM teached what he wanted to who he wanted, so that's normal Cheung's WC is different, but different in little thing. YN was near Chu Chung Man in HK and what YM learnt aboout CCM's weng chun is in Cheung's wing chun. I believe in the "secret teaching" 'cause YM teached real fight to 4/5 student and he teached personaly and one by one. But I dont care Cheung's wc come from. It's # 1.

No dude, That what you are talkin about is William Cheungs story! that;s just one of William Cheungs versions. I know 3 versions of the wooden dummy form by William Cheung. He change the form through time and show and teach the different versions in the different states and coutries. Everybody knows that.
I am master graded by William Cheung, he olso show me the Advaced Wooden Dummy form, thats the 4.th version. Huh,what about that?! And yes, he teach this on the NY seminar 1989.

I believe Cheungs wing chun stems from Hung Fa Yi wing chun which is more of the secret society type. If you've seen Hung Fa Yi, its very similar to Cheungs. There are differences in all the lineages. Cheungs wing chun is good wing chun no matter how he tried to market it.

That link only shows the form being demonstated not being taught. I don't see any teaching. I see Modified Wing Chun that everyone and there uncle learnt including William Cheung. That is not news. What is being demostrated is Traditional Wing Chun that was taught to Yip Man by Leung Bik son of Leung Jan. Only passed on to Cheung as live in student. The form demonstrated on the film is the Chan Wah Soon form.

@CloudsBeyond You are misunderstanding what I am trying to say. If you loose a fight it doesent mean the art you train is bad or worthless. Are you trying to say when Buwakaw Por Paramuk looses a fight to a kickboxer, muay thai sucks??? When two people fighi it's no't a fight of styles , its a fight of personalitys and a lot of factors decide the outcome. Keep in mind that ther was a 20 year diference betwean the both and Emin was physically supirior.

It doesen't realy metter , does it. After learning two diferent styles before I meet my Sifu and grandmaster Cheung, the decision was easy... Cheung 's tecniqe works best for me! I was a bit upset when I found out about the deciving... but that is his personality isue, not my problem, I am not willing to discard everything , just becouse he maby lied to make a few dollars more...Actualy I have heard a lot of lies during my learnings..We shoul not be too judgemental. Regards to all !

@CloudsBeyond . The Botzepe fiasko is not something they should be proud of. That is why the entire video was never released, they cerefuly cut out only the moment in wich Cheung was taken to the ground and a couple punches that did not find the target.Respect to Emin but people who were ther say it was a foul play! . And EAVEN if he would be defeated in a fair match, that doesen't mean enything. If you were ivolved in combatve art you should know that...
