Yes, the razor is on the more expensive side but I appreciate that it‘s an artisan shavegear fully designed and made in the US with high quality materials. Furthermore it’s a small family business which does not mass produce razors. The question is not is it worth the money, since quite subjective, the question is if you are willing to pay the price. I fully understand if someone is more focused on the performance. Then there are lots of stainless steel DE razors out there that offers better value for the money, no doubt about.
Also the price is often judged based on the brand name. I rarely heard people complain about the price of high end razors like Timeless, Charcoal etc. Those are already well known brands with lot of good reputation. But I tell you what, also those companies started small.
Don‘t get me wrong, I‘m not rich and 250$ is a lot of money for me too. Nevertheless I‘m happy with this razor 🙂

Do another shave with Seville please.
Start with dripping wet brush, load about 30 seconds or so, then try drowning the lather with water, I mean copious amounts and see how it works.
This is the way this soap gives its full potential.

Seville's always incredible. One the best frag's I've come across. That first hit off the tub always blows my mind. Fills the whole bathroom with sunshine. The dry down is great as well. You gotta' get the EdT and live with it all day.

I guess I watched the SS with Ti Handle before you did the SS review
I agree so much with you’re price discussion. You just have to make a choice where you spend you’re disposable income. Before it was high end golf equipment for me (after 2 broken wrists , no more) custom & all that. Let me tell you that’s a pretty penny
Don’t have any Barrister & Mann soaps yet but now looking to try

Really enjoyed this high class shave, smashing results. But as you say it’s up to the individual to justify the price point. I have the Barrister and Mann Seville in the old base, Will the main man over there has an incredible nose for scent creation coupled with a wonderfully performing base.

Good evening Kevy! Yes, the B&M Seville soap and aftershave was a special delivery...it went first class all the way to you! It is nice to see you are happy with it. I like Seville too. I bought the Simpson Chubby 2 from Ian...I collected a synthetic at the shave meet-up price. Ian is really nice! The synthetic releases the lather....great flow. Kai blades work very well. I like them better than Feather blades for sure. My thoughts exactly, I hear people moan about $30 for a starter DE razor yet shell out $500 on a weekend in Casino's, Gentleman's clubs, and fancy restaurants...what do they have to show for their money...maybe a memory. At least buying a tool you get to use it time and again. Nice looking shave Kevy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Take care.

Fair comment Chris. If you're happy with your Gamechanger, then that's fine. The two are similar in the shave but I think the Carbon is slightly better made. Should that make it that much more than the Gamechanger? I can't answer that. Hi Kevy,
How long do you soak the Chubby 2 for before you start lathering it mate? I have issues with mine sometimes tearing the top of the soap while lathering in whichever soap. I have noticed it a lot with the A&E soaps such as Sou Cal Hipster as they are fairly soft. I even get this when I have the soap with a little water on it. I was just wondering if I'm not soaking the brush for long enough with the result that the brush drinks it all and leaves the soap dry. I hope you are well mate,
    Dave.

The Carbon is much nicer made but there's not much difference in the actual feel of the shave. The Carbon maybe has a little more blade feel. Cheers. Kevy 😀👍

Thank you for this high-end feature. Most of all, I appreciate the high-end advice you gave regarding premium gear. I believe the analogy you made contrasting a planned night out of conveyance, dining, and gambling will reach over $200.00 easily. I happen to know many guys who spend that weekly; putting their hard earned money into the g-string of an exotic dancer. So, if your lifestyle has that kind of entertainment cost, then buying the CX, HomeLike Start, or Tatara is completely justified. It should also be pointed out that among your collection of razors, there is a plastic Wilkinson Sword Classic. A commonly available, and inexpensive razor, sitting next to a priceless vintage Gillette. Fact of the matter is that it works! It is a very good travel razor that won't set you back if you leave it at the hotel, or lose it to a sticky fingered turndown maid. I own one, Manny owns one, Tony Tony owns one, and we all have many high-end, artisan machined, razors as well. I wouldn't worry about those tossers who accuse you of being a commissioned salesman for Carbon, or any other manufacturer. They do not have the first idea of your unwavering integrity since your channel began. It sets you apart from that ilk. I've sensed that I've rambled again. I should say something about the shave. The standout feature of the CX-316L? It was how it left your right jawline without the need for pickups! That alone would persuade me to buy the Carbon. It also proves that you don't require an insane amount of blade gap for a first-class BBS. At 0.68, this razor's gap is well below the R41, and Home Like Start. It is geometry that the head has in design that gives a quality shave, especially in experienced hands. I had Seville, but in the original base. I hear the excelsior is the bomb. It appears the Chubby 2 still need some breaking in to correct the flow of water and soap. Not to mention I'm sure Mrs. Kevy checks your venetian blind cord to see it drying. That brush is stupid dense! Would I take one? Hell Yes! Enjoy your Sunday, and the rest of the week. We'll speak soon.

It takes ages to shave using these methods! I don't have the time or inclination to spend so long shaving, I wet shave using a throw away and from start to finish takes 5 minutes, and it's smooth too. *I love the idea* of all these things you use, but I'd not do it during the week ... maybe a weekend thing sure. I'd like to try it.
Unfortunately the number of razors, blades, soaps etc is overwhelming and that is unhelpful but I guess you just plump forvwhat you like the look/sound of and run with it.

Smashing good shave! Fine looking razor. But four times the price of the Game Changer with cash to spare. Designing it with inspiration from the Tech is always a good idea. And the handle is smartly designed too. Blade feel I don't fancy much on razors. So whatever one wishes is what's best for them 👍.
On lathering, I love to lay it heavy on all three passes.

You spend $250 on a premium artisan razor you'd think there would be no overlay with the blade. I get that they are emulating Gilette here, but sometimes leave the past in the past and move on. Alpha Shaving Outlaw, Blackland Blackbird or Dart, and Rex Supply Co Ambassador or Envoy have it right. I'm no fan of overlay.
