Glad I got to experience this video with you too. Can't express HOW much I love Eddie vedder too, he's not just the most exquisite voice, but a genuine good man!!!
What gets me super misty eyed about this performance is knowing Eddie wrote it as a teenager thinking no-one would ever hear it. Glad I found your reaction/review, you can clearly see how much you love them.
Eddie mentioned in an interview recently he misses the crowds at his live performances the most. He got emotional just talking about it. The pandemic has had a profound impact on these musicians. It is literally their livelihood and I imagine the pandemic has likely had a negative impact on their mental health, as they aren't able to feed off the energy from the audience. I can't wait until things are normal again!
yeah. enough of all this covid nonsense. there's always gonna be stuff trying to kill us on planet earth so we might as well find a way to adapt or just sit at home forever
For pure audience joy, see their 2006 10 song set for David Letterman at Ed Sullivan theatre (Why Go, Porch, etc). A crowd of middle-aged guys letting it all loose. As a middle guy myself, it's total dad-rock and it's wonderful.
My god, I can't even imagine being Eddie and having the crowd take over after singing two words. I would completely lose myself just like you said, I'm almost crying just watching from a RUclips video. I can't imagine how good that would feel, so much power in that stadium. Loved your commentary on this. You've earned a new sub!
Love the reaction. Pearl Jam is my favorite band of all time. I was lucky to be at Madison Square Garden in 2004 for Pearl Jam. I cannot articulate how loud that place gets and how much the NY crowd loves Pearl Jam and Ed. The sound in there is also incredible. It’s clean, crisp, and loud...perfect for Ed’s voice. You can also tell the band comes in really sharp for a show there. They’re always great live but at MSG, they were off the charts. If you ever have an opportunity to see them at Madison Square Garden, it’s absolute bucket list.
The gorge at George 2006, 116 degrees out that day, and he mentions it. Look it up, "daughter/it's ok", I was there in the audience. Greatest concert I've ever been too, and because of that, they became my favorite band. They were above all the other grunge bands and they have outlasted them all. Eddie's passion and love for his fans speaks volumes and you can tell in their performances.
I just happened to discover your channel and stumbled across your Pearl Jam review. I've probably seen PJ live about 10 times. It's a special event every time and I'm always amazed at how grateful the band seems. I have seen Eddie crying on stage several times because he was so touched. I remember one particular concert in Berlin ( i believe it was in 2010 - you can find it here on YT ), Black was intoned, Eddie started singing and the audience took over. Eddie was actually done with the song, but the audience didn't want to finish the song and so it became a 12 minute song. Thanks for the memory, I get goose bumps again when I think of the concerts. By the way, thanks for the reminder and keep up the good work. Greetings from Germany
In my opinion, if I was a singer in a band and after all of the endless practice, sweat and tears, after all the endless night after night of concerts, after all the fame, glory and money, no matter if I was performing in front of 50 fans or 50,000 fans, hearing them finish my songs would be the ultimate highlight of my career!!! And yes it would probably bring me to tears standing up on the stage hearing them sing to me!!!! Love your reaction, I just subscribed. Peace ☮️ ✌️
They're my favorite band too. Betterman is also my fav. Seen them only 8 times but I was lucky to have seen The Home Shows. Peace, love and Pearl Jam brother.
New to your channel and I'm on my 5th reaction. This song means everything to me. I know a million people will say this but I was there! Your reaction is spot on. I'll never forget it and it's one of my best and most memorable concert experience of my life. I'm 57 and have seen a ton. But this was special. Still get goosebumps everytime I see it. You have a new fan. Cheers!
Ed! dude I swear I just goosebumps reading this. You know man, you know. You felt it, you were there. What a beautiful thing. I'm so happy you got to experience that. much love
Being in the crowd for Better Man is one of the best things I have ever experienced. It wasn't this performance, but we all sang together and I will remember it forever.
Pearl Jam and Eddie coloured my life during at least 3 decades, and they still do. Got all their albums in some way or another. Most CDs have been played so often on my car stereo that they're not really useful anymore. Memories, and emotions, go so deep with many of their songs. Better Man is one of them for me as well ... keep singing along through the tears. And this performance has a true spiritual depth with that venue-wide choir. You sharing this with your personal take on it is much appreciated my man. Thank you very much.
It is very very amazing!! I watch Pearl Jam almost daily because I'm in alot of pain, its distract me from my pain for awhile, thanked goodness for Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam, thank you for reacting like you do!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
The look on your face while watching this is exactly how I feel when I watch this. The admiration, the love, the awe, the appreciation of their talent. I feel exactly the same. This gives me goosebumps every fucking time tears sometimes but so much joy. This has to be a perfect moment in rock history it shows how much music impacts our lives. I can’t sing or play anything but I fucking love music ! Music that moves me I totally appreciate other peoples amazing talent. 😍😍😍
Ciao! Thanks for this genuine and heartfelt reaction 😊 I definitely feel you and connect with you on an emotional level. Been lucky enough to join some PJ live performances at different stages of their career and I could witness their generosity and strong bond with their audience. You're so right, they're not there to show off, but to create an authentic connection with people through true emotions and great music. Respect.
Wow .. u did a great Vedder brother. 🤟 Thanks for sharing this special moment of yours (and background) with us. I love Pearl Jam too (epitome of “Artists”) ✌🏼🤍🇺🇸Dear
Easy to see you have a strong bond with this song and band. I love that. I have the same bond with AIC (with Layne) and Mad Season. The passion in your voice talking is evident. Great reaction! P. S. Gotta love Staind
The song is actually about Eddies step dad who married Eddies mother after his biological father died. This is about a woman who settles for the man she has because she doesn't think she can do any better. Vedder had his stepfather in mind when he wrote it. After Eddie's biological father died, his mother remarried, and Eddie thought she did it only because she needed someone to help support the family. At some concerts, Vedder has dedicated this to "The bastard who married my mother." So he already basically said who its about. Vedder is one hell of a frontman. Pear Jam is a band of a generation. Just awesome!
Always makes me happy to see another Pearl Jam fan. I recommend to you the live version of this song from 2013 in Argentina, Pepsi Music (or the entire show for that matter) it's fucking amazing. Great video man!!
Viva, Eddie! Viva, Pearl Jam!
Since you love audience participating completely trough the song then i strongly recommend Blind Guardian - Bard Song/Valhalla live at Wacken... That performance always lifts me up.
I 100% agree about Eddie being humble and having no ego here. Most singers will not even shut up during a bandmate's solo, which annoys me to no end. 😡
Hope you’re not thinking of Robert Plant here: Robert and Jimmy loved to play off of each other, and it was one of the signature aspects of Zeppelin. Robert’s voice became part of the instrumentation of the song. I had nothing to do with personal ego, and if Jimmy hadn’t liked it, it would have stopped.
I would like to see your Reaction to 21 pilots stressed out...ride..car radio..lane boy... Fairly local. Also Royal Blood-figure it out..(a 2 man Band) No More- This is time (Ballast) live SeriusFM live...This one blew me away
This is definitely one of my favorite performances of Better Man...and I thought I would share with you my version of the same feeling you expressed. When I'm feeling down, or grieving, I come to this performance of Release, which sounds as good 25 years later as when he wrote it in 1991. ruclips.net/video/Y2vwLBkA4vg/видео.htmlsi=n8BybosNX5xSlmlO
Thanks for uploading! If you have a minute, we posted an Eddie Van Halen tribute video. As fellow music fans, we'd love if you'd check it out. It's on our page. Don't go too hard on us :)
This is actually a decent performance here that I recently discovered....if you can get over "hearth and thoughts." And no, that's not a misspelling. 😂 ruclips.net/video/IqnBxs7f1tI/видео.html
Thanks for the reaction! Love pearl jam! Enjoy the enjoyment others enjoy watching them lol
My favorite reaction video….to one of my favorite songs
Glad I got to experience this video with you too. Can't express HOW much I love Eddie vedder too, he's not just the most exquisite voice, but a genuine good man!!!
Loved seeing the smile on your face as you watch!! It's easy to see how much you enjoy hearing him sing!!

best analyses of this song ever!!
Late to the game here - it's the smile from EV - I absolutely adore Pearl Jam there is just something very human about them. Thanks for this.
When Eddie smiles, the sun rises🥰 Good reaction!

Pearl Jam in New Orleans (‘94) will always be one of the most special concerts I’ve attended.
There is no "Almost crying" :D The tears just dont come out, but it is happy crying :)
Love the reaction. Pearl Jam is my favorite band of all time.

Man I grew up in the 90’s with every local rock radio station playing this.. I miss the 90’s and early 2000’s

This is what a reaction vid should be; sharing your love of art with the world. Thank you.
My favorite band, I also got Pearl Jam tattooed on me on my last birthday, always wanted it!!

Everything you say about the greatness of Pearl Jam is exactly how I feel. #fellowJamilymember BEST. BAND. EVER.
And I’m so sad that you’ve never seen them live and I hope you get to one day
This is my first video of yours to watch. When I saw.you smiling at the beginning I knew I could relate. I feel the same way about this group.
They're my favorite band too. Betterman is also my fav. Seen them only 8 times but I was lucky to have seen The Home Shows. Peace, love and Pearl Jam brother.

I saw them live in Bremen/Germany back in 1992 🤘😎

Great song, great reaction, great band. May I suggest Black in Prague in 2017 for more audience participation? Love from the north of the North!
Couldn't agree with you MORE, LOVE Eddie vedder!! Just subscribed to your channel
Haha! I love it!
Sick! 👍
The change up is actually their take on the beats save it for later, the song that influenced Eddie to write this

@@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 Nope not who I was talking about, that's riffing off of each other. which is fine as it is intended.
[HD] Pearl Jam , " Alive " Pinkpop 92'
