Because the ships are lifted from the small pins underneath the forward flaps, that means they either get it straight or they can't lift it. The Chopsticks themselves have tracks on them for lateral movement of the ship, but because of the very narrow grip, it's not useful for rotational movement.

I wonder how they guarantee alignment? I would think of using conical pins to let it self align as it's lowered
