I am just getting to know the espresso scene and found this project. So happy that there are passionate knowing people. I will keep track with this mod, since I am interested in assembling a lego. Hope there will be no significant changes in the BOM. I will start slowly acquiring the materials.
I just asked about this on the discord channel and got this linked to me :D super excited to see this implemented. Hopefully its not too big of a change to install as I've just ordered the kit :/ either way. I'll be keen to upgrade even if thats the case. Having a screen even if its small is awesome, but having a screen that allows for easier navigation is awesomer :D Loving the work you guys have been putting into this project!
@@kdawgg83they have been talking a little about what is in development on the Discord, you should be on there! I'm not sure what screen this is, they are keeping things a little secret until they finalize things enough to release the new version.
I have old iPad mini I would like to use instead of integrating this mini screen. Is it possible to control PCB without mini screen, just with web app?
Awesome! Is there a branch on github that can be checked out for this? Also I see the tablet is connected to it via a browser. Is this an addition to the PCB or does it come with the display?
When it's done, is all everyone knows at this point. If you want to do the mod just get everything with the Nextion. The new screen should be a drop-in replacement.
@@AdrianaAlvarez-r2knot the solenoid per se but more the group style it imposes, all the machines without a solenoid need a certain group mechanism to keep the water inside from free flowing out of it which is why they use a mushroom valve mechanism which only opens the group starting with a certain pressure (usually around 4-5 bars), this renders a lot of the profiling useless as many recipe require soft infusion at low bars for example which is basically impossible to achieve on mushroom valve style group heads.
Nice flashy display with colours and all but that extraction time was 54 seconds... it was way too long, 100% certain that would have tasted over extracted.
I'm assuming you don't have experience with flow profiling, because shot times can be much longer than if you were doing a typical 9 bar shot and you can still get something very tasty and without any bitterness. Different preinfusions and blooming shots are not the same as you're used to...
Love the look and larger screen. Thanks so much for all the work and sharing this amazing project.
Hope you enjoy every single shot you get outta it!
Hope this is Zer0's 2024 Xmas/NY gift for the community :D Thank you so much, man!
You bet!

Cool, When will this code (and BOM) be released?

Nice display! what kind of display is that? some kind of nextion?
Of course I just bought the kit with the old screen lol. Hopefully this just ends up being a screen upgrade.
Should be. But this screen has been around. It's probably the 3.5 and it requires some modifications to the code for it to work.
I don't think it will be part of the kit for a good bit
@@ricardospear922it's not a nexiton screen. The project is moving away from nexiton in this next iteration...
@@Foolsauce how do you know. And which screen is it?

Sounds like we have the same neighbours
The whole ides was a fast shot of coffee now we added gadgets where can I get one😊

I can reply to myself here :D it's in dev branch and the display is an ESP32 display which has wifi&bluetooth connectivity. Great job!
@@udrinit's not in the dev branch. Seems all a bit hush hush to me 😂
I can hear my heart pounding oh wait that's your upstairs neighbor
That's actually my missus walking around lol, phone mic just amplified it all weirdly.
what steam wand is that?
How long to be released?

@@TheRobotmak hey, not sure what you're asking tbh. Do you mean about the new screen release? It's all taking place on the Gaggiuino Discord

X2
Is this the classic with the S.S boiler and without the solenoid valve?
Nope, that classic isn't worth any of this effort.
@@VSparxxx so I hear. I presume the solenoid valve is the biggest factor?

lol judging the taste of an espresso without actually tasting it. Amazing job you did there.

Lol, your comment was way too long and your thought process too short.
