Perfect job for Sherman. Always good to see neighbors helping neighbors. Something you don't see much these days. What was the white tape you put in the ditch?
I always learn when I watch you operate your tractors. I have improved my skill using the loader/bucket on my sub-compact, and watching you has given me a few more tips. Thank you for that. It certainly translates to the larger tractors that I run on occasion. I think the most important thing that I have learned not only from you but also others... patience and take your time. I don't do any of my tractor work for a living, so I can take my time and I have found that when I go slower I get better results. A manager that I worked for at one time had a saying that is true in this case. "Slow is smooth and smooth is fast".
Great ground work on Sherman, that tractor does get it's fair share of work and then some. I was watching your neighbor and you could tell that the two of you gave worked together and both knew what each other was doing. It's great to have a sidekick like that. Thanks for sharing. Always enjoy the videos!
Like your hand on the controls, sure and easy. Cliff has a good friend in you and you him. Waiting to see how the end results turn out with this endeavor then Splish Splash!
Nice job Mike... The little tractor is a genuine workhorse! Rain started at 11:00 am today as I got out at 7:15 am & got all my fields mowed by 9:45 am... ( 2nd mowing this season ) Yesterday I installed a new 3 point trailer mover ( TSC ) which has a 2" receiver with a 2 5/16" ball at the top of the post. I slid a 2" Reese with a 2" ball into the receiver. I'm good to go now as my splitter tables will no longer hit my chained up rears when making turns... Bill... :~)
You did a great job I can see you doing it professionly for a living keep up the good work helping friends has a great reward in life enjoy it for however long you can life's a gift and friends are few and far between so help thiy neighbor and you'll get back ten fole ok
Thanks for all your videos. Sat on my first RK 24 yesterday in Morristown Tn. Rural King is coming to Bristol Va in the fall and I am buying the RK24 based on your videos. Thanks for the content.
Love watching your tractor videos and in fact Sherman inspired me last fall to buy my very first tractor at the tender age of 71. Been having a blast with it
Thanks for letting me watch you work. I have learned a lot. Your videos have given me the knowledge and confidence to tackle many jobs around the farm I have been hesitant to attempt. Work more sit less!
An even better idea is to have Mike come over with the RK and do the work for me, then later when I'm trying to remember where those buried lines are I can just go to RUclips and watch the video... piece of cake.
what? no button shirt? haha. Like the new T-Shirt. I love your projects. you always point out tips and things to watch for like trying to leave the sod intact when scraping off dirt. I appreciate cliff letting you film this and also the video you did a while back of his trophy room. what a fascinating back story that was.
Looking good Mike! Sherman can do it all, for sure. But it also takes a good operator to make him work. Nice video! Also, good tip about documenting everything as you go. We built our house 2 years ago and took as many pictures as we could. It is amazing how soon you forget where things were. The pictures are life savers.
I've been trying to convince my wife for two years now that we need a subcompact tractor. A lot more would get done around here. Thanks for the video 👍👍
A must have especially when get older. Without the backhoe your at a measly 220 a month, and that's with insurance. You'll save that not having to go to the chiropractor
Have you considered adding a steering knob to the steering wheel? Made a world of difference in my ability to operate the tractor when using the front end loader and the box blade. NO blisters on the ball of the hand.
I get the biggest kick out of helping my neighbors with my sub compact John Deere. And I agree about taking pictures, I always do. You never know when you’ll need to look back and see where you dug a trench.
After a 40+ year in telecommunications, I have had the pleasure of working with two men like you describe. It is like we were clones or one mind a 4 arms. Luckily I worked with both of these guys a long time. Unfortunately, they are both gone from this world now. Also as you mention, you can work with folks like this and chit/chat, because there is no need to talk about the work at hand. Another great soundtrack.
Mike, That RK24 I think it is...That's a tough little beast. I have a Kubota B-7300 HST with front end loaded, scrape blade, box blade, bush hog, grooming mower, and what I call a boom lift. That B-730 I nicknamed the "beast" is like that. That thang ( thing ) strong for its size. I know about how handy a compact or even a sub-compact tractor is, about like a pocket on a shirt. I for one enjoy the outdoors just about as much as you do. There's no place I'd rather be. Anyway, that is a super nice rig. I came across this video and wanted to share my thoughts or comment that these little tractors are stout. Mine is over 18 years old and shows but still going. Good to see you again. have a wonderful rest of the week. Michael from NW North Carolina
I was impressed with how nice the RK 24 worked too. It’s nice that your neighbor knows how to help and isn’t afraid to touch the shovel and rake. Do all the loader controls on the tractors feel like they are good quality? On my older John Deere 955 it is kind of hard to lower the bucket with a heavy load if you are doing precise work.
