      I don't think the serve is at all bad, she probably has one of the heaviest kick serves out there and a good first serve but it's just staying tight behind her serve that's the problem because she has really good returns. 2 great players. They play a beautiful tennis. They are humble and have a strong personality at the same time.
    Swiatek needs to reach another step to become the future number one she deserves to be. She first needs to work on her second serve. She has everything to make it an advantage. She will succeed. She is smart and mentally very very strong not to mention her athletic dynamism. We can feel she is actually practicing for Roland Garros. Good strategy.

Having not watched a ton of Barty before, I gained a great deal of respect for her. Fantastic player, and comes across as very likable and easy to root for aside from when she plays Iga lol

    That should be a final, not 3rd round match. I love how respectful both players were. Also, first serve faults and double faults (on both sides) were caused just by that - both were worried the opponent can hit killer return, so took their risk on serve. Ash did it better, Iga must work on her serve and mindset.

    Yes Iga is becoming a top player. But after she won Roland Garros everybody jumped on the bandwagon and said she’s the next greatest thing. She’s just a young player that played well that one time at one the grand slam, she’s not the next “greatest player”. Although I bet she will get into the top 10.
    Barty is the most professional player playing today. No screaming, no grunting, no howling, no yelling “come on” after every point, no melt downs, so childish nonsense like smashing a racket, no fake injury time outs. She’s proven once again she deserves to be number one.

    • @kamipersonal2687
      @kamipersonal2687 3 года назад

      U hv some good points in your argument, but... the grunting is only legal because its something natural, physiological. Many players, luke simona, dont do it on purpose... so grunting is not a criteria to asses work ethic here. I bet you both ash & simo hv great work ethic... similarly, with timeouts. When a player is young, like ash she.ll hv less medical issues... i.m surprised when young player like muchova takes medical, but even so we cannot be sure since (maybe) muchova not used to aussie sweltering heat, being european. So. You don.t know at this stage. Sometimes, we can hv a hunch that a player may do these on purpose. Players that may do these are (ret.) wozniacki, sharapova or even konta. My hunch... anyways, glad that toilet break is gone but girls need medicals. Especially, those not so young and prone to injury. Cheers!

      By the way, iga may turn out to be like ostapenko or bianca andreescu...just winning gs when teenagers then fading into the pack... will just wait and see. 😉

    • @PaulDA2000
      @PaulDA2000 3 года назад

      @@kamipersonal2687 Oh I believe in medical time outs. But some of the tennis players take advantage of it. And I’m not saying other players don’t have work ethic because the player screams or grunts. It’s not something that just comes natural. People learn to do it, many tennis players don’t make a sound when the the bowl, it’s not necessary. Have you ever heard of golf or scream or grown or yell whenever they hit the golf ball? It’s a learned habit.

    • @PaulDA2000
      @PaulDA2000 3 года назад +1

      @@kamipersonal2687 And just to add, I differentiate between players that grant or scream every single time they hit the ball like Sabalenka, Riske,, Sorres Tormo and others, and in players like Halep, Muguruza and Serena who do it when the matches get tough. The ones that scream and yell and run every time they hit the ball or completely wrong and that should be made illegal. However, like I said in my other response many players don’t make a noise at all at any time and Barty is one of those players. The players that don’t make any noises prove that it’s not necessary to do it at all.
