What a note to retire on. I think it's a real shame she did, her vs swiatek as a rivalry had the potential to be insanely entertaining
While all the other women just bash the ball, Barty plays tactically smart. She uses the slice so well, seems like she learned a lot from Federer here. I would have loved to see her go on playing, just so womens' tennis had gone to another level. All the other players would have to get their levels up higher, now it is back to bashing again.
And yeah, I like how Swiatek plays, but she is just a bit better with top spin than the others.
That poise and balance which then lends on such beautiful timing on Barty's shots. Has such a belief in her abilities that she never looked fazed by the situation especially the second set against Danielle Collins. Always has extra second to play her shot, has great footwork and topped with absolutely fantastic temperament and demeanour. Top class player and a true champion Ash Barty.
Wow could you believe how many photos there must be of this Historically emotional time , that will last forever for me, look forward to seeing more
Ash, I miss you... ❤️
I already know I'm watching this again, thankyou wide world of Sports
let it be remembered in history that Ash went out on top, as the world no 1. None of her rivals could beat her. A modern day Graf, with that slice and variety. Her forehand & serve was so good.
No - not a good comparison. Graf had a significantly longer period of time at the top.
I meant more from a playing style standpoint. Although Graf did win the french open and made the wimbledon final in her last year 1999. Which showed dominace at the end@@tennissir1986
@@user-be5qg7mr1s Silly comparison - Graf played 2 decades.
Many of her rivals could beat her but anyway
Love you Ash
I miss Ash Barty 🥺
look at her serves omg
Wow! She took out 4 Americans in a row: Anisimova, Pegula, Keys and Collins! On one hand it is incredible that Americans have such talent but on the other hand we were single handedly destroyed! LOL how I miss Barty!
Who else misses Ash Barty in 2024?
I'm just in ore
Haha LoL,I'm drinking or drunk or both
Barry was on another level. Not even prime Iga can get to this level. Ash has some Federer-like moves, shots. Could have easily win AG least 1-2 Grand Slams a year.
Ofc prime Iga can get to this level, in fact, she has already reached and surpassed this level, without even reaching her own prime. It would have been amazing having the 2 of them play at their respective primes together and dominating the tour like once FedAl did. I miss Ash greatly, but it was her decision and quite frankly, as a huge fan, I can't forgive her for it.. But why people can't just appreciate 2 different styles of game reaching amazing heights is beyond me. It's like saying Rafa could never reach Roger's level lol
Iga has hard surpassed barty whether you like it or not
Likes here are 69 hahah LoL
