her reaction after her Wimbledon win was the smoothest u will ever see; calm & composed, as if to say, I'm supposed to win Majors. Rybakina’s groundstrokes are the smoothest in the women’s game currently. She strikes the ball so sweetly, especially on the forehand side with an effortless motion and the ball just powers forward like a missile. Even Swiatek, for all her defensive skills, cannot get to many of those shots. I watched her once live courtside, and the sound of her racket striking the ball is really something else, very different from other players.
Rybakina is quickly maturing as a player and she's got a good shot at the trophy. This may be what both Iga and WTA needs. Iga needs a consistent rival to constantly push her to improve as a player and avoid complacency and stagnation of her game. And the WTA could really use a good rivalry story.
Sure she's maturing. Her serve was always great and now her return has improved. And let's not forget she is 2 years older than Iga. Hope Iga takes sth positive from that loss and bounces back.

@@csracingreport2024 Well said. Because of the WTA's notorious inconsistency of the players results, I wouldn't dare hope for multiple rivalries just yet. Maybe rising talents like Qinwen Zheng or Alycia Parks can one day create solid match ups that can be considered rivalries in the future. However Rybakina seems to be the only player near Iga's level that's showing consistency in the majors. Even if Iga and Rybakina don't play that often ( Can't underestimate WTA inconsistency) her presence alone may be enough to motivate Iga, and provide the WTA with that least enough of a semblance of a rivalry to write articles about. Also Rybakina has made the quarter finals of RG before breaking through at wimbledon, so she's at least capable on the surface although consistent results are another matter. So as far as the prospect of having a rival near Iga's age that can perform against her and on the highest stages, Rybakina is all we have so far.

I’ve said about Iga’s weakness before. She needs more depth on her forehand & backhand. She improved her volleys at the net, but she had bad execution at the net in previous losses. Overall, Iga is a real deal & will be back.
Great win! Was wondering who would be able to beat swiatek! It's a good lesson in humility for her.. Swiateks good but I see some arrogance which turns me away from her.
I regret it for not watching the entire match live. iga plays with a degree of flexibility expected from a World Number 1 like her. She adjusts her game well on the second set in which she is 3-0 up but elena rybakina never stops. Her powerful consistent groundstrokes make her win this match.
Opponents had started to take advantage of the Swiatek serve weakness. The first serve is only mediocre while the second serve is way below average. If that doesn't improve, Swiatek is not gonna be number 1 much longer.
I'll be tougher for sure, particularly on hard / grass, where EB seems to be very comfortable: on Clay u can get around it, (slow 2nd serve), but w/ a power hitter like Elena & others, your point will be an issue @ some point on the slower surfaces, especially if EB combines finesse w/ that power, look out; the lack of a potent serve has been an Achilles heel on the WTA Tour for decades & Rybakina represents an Improvement & shift in that department by her & others in having that key weapon in one's arsenal, which speaks to your point; If the serve lacks punch, your time near or @ the top will evaporate, because it will be exploited; and you may get served off the court, which still isn't as common as past eras w/ the Men, where someone could serve 30 to 50 aces & send you packing.
Each time iIGA is stronger during returning balls,,but today Ryba did the same thing ,when IGA is surprised watching ball coming back along her way, RYBA studied IGA,'s, game ,keep it up.
Elena, did extreme well went toe to toe with world number 1 woman tennis. IGA , may caught off surprise from her . She was little off balance during rallies. They will meet up many many times coming future. Great match on both ladies.
When rybakina is on, she is on point. When she is off, she is way off, not this time, sadly for Iga. Hope Iga will come back stronger and defend her points!
Iga is not the unbeatable player the media and rest of the tour paint her to be. In 2023, Pegula and Rybakina have exposed the weaknesses in iga's game very well, and the other ladies would do well to take notes
I'll be honest, I was never impressed with Swiatek's game. I knew it was only a matter of time before the other ladies realized how easy it is to pick her game apart. So far this year she's gotten dominated by Pegula. Rybakina just put her down in straights. It's too soon to tell but I don't think it's going to be a good year for her. The difference between this year and last is that more players have notched wins over her. The scouting report is going to be a little more detailed.
U may be right: and even on Clay, where Swiatek is proven, and u can get around slower serving, that may become an issue sooner than later if EB & others begin to sharpen their skills, w/ a bit of finesse to go w/ the power to limit the fatigue factor
It’s so rare to see especially in sports someone this calm and mature, I just love the fact she just goes on about her game with no unnecessary idiotic rants! Gotta love her for that.
These highlights would be so much more enjoyable to watch if “you” didn’t tell us who the winner is up front…you always put the picture of the winner in the caption…start putting both players
From a technical standpoint, these two are very different players. Iga pounces on everything without keeping her eyes on the ball, but maintaining control. Elena is much more polished and smooth with her power. The Iga serve has never been a weapon, but she places it beautifully. Elena's serve is powerful silk with minimal efforts. Yeah, I'll stick with Elena!
U may be correct; the WTA Tour has tons of parity & EB & Sabalenka, who seem to be on a crash course to meet in the Final, may lose. but Elena's a smooth customer: Wicked Wonder Woman power, great serve; I'm curious to see how she does on Clay, where Swiatek is proven; if she can mix finesse w/ power on the slower strip, look out
Like both players. Elena deserves the win in this match by the way she played. Hope Elena will continue improving and be more consistent, and Iga to be more focused not letting rank No 1 being a burden or a reason for being arrogant.
Swiatek keeps losing her balance and constantly flat footed by the sheer power of Rybakina's ground strokes. The world number 1 seems to lose her edge nowadays hopefully she can recover soon.
I love watch a “screamless” tennis match! Both great players!
Glad Elena finally getting some rightful WTA points 🥳

surface, where Swiatek is a proven commodity? If the answer is YES, look out, because she's good to go on hard / grass courts from what everyone can see: Superwoman power in those arms.
People are taking notice. I saw her beat Kenin the year Kenin won her grand slam. She will win others, no doubt. Wish she had won this one
this is what i wanted to watch , someone that really show the Polish girl that she is a # 1 cause there are not better players than her till Elena's appears and with her composure , coldness and quietness will improve her game to became the real # 1 , good job Rybakina
So Swiatek is not the "real" no 1? Let's ignore all of her achievements because she has been beaten...
I'm glad to see Iga out of the tournament. That extreme coiling and uncoiling of her forehand is hard for me to watch.
Welldone Elena!
loved watching this elena just silencing iga and playing a very smart and composed match, her wimby win was no fluke elena is a young talent and will be a multiple slam winner, really hoping she wins AO
Nice to see Rybakina destroy Swiatek, Rybakina is a silent and humble assassin with deadly and powerful groundstrokes, serve and so refreshing to watch a player who does not need to scream or grunt obnoxiously when hitting the ball
I just love Elena Rybakina! She’s a wonderful athlete, very composed and disciplined! I really hope she will win the tournament!😘
she's BJORN BORG "ice cool" indeed; I think she's slightly more talented than SABALENKA, and it'll be, beyond Australia, to see how it pans out for both on Clay; it's clear Elena is solid on hard / grass, courts: very interested to see
how it goes on the slower surfaces; but yes, EB is a scary prospect; Superwoman Kryptnotic power, great serve, calm approach; Cute too, lol
Swiatek is all anger fighting to her max , Rybakina is calm and has a good margin of progress ; a good opposition in styles !
And a silent hush waves over the Iga crowd. Wimbledon Champion show her some love.
Omg, lga is a monster on court but she was outclassed in this game. Best defense is good offense, well done hats off to you 💛
I’ve said about Iga’s weakness before.
I agree
this seems like men's tennis, the rhythm is insanely fast
Now they will never put them in the same draw again. Congrats Elena!
I regret it for not watching the entire match live. iga plays with a degree of flexibility expected from a World Number 1 like her. She adjusts her game well on the second set in which she is 3-0 up but elena rybakina never stops. Her powerful consistent groundstrokes make her win this match.
Elena just calm cool and collected
Opponents had started to take advantage of the Swiatek serve weakness. The first serve is only mediocre while the second serve is way below average. If that doesn't improve, Swiatek is not gonna be number 1 much longer.
I'll be tougher for sure, particularly on hard / grass, where EB seems to be very comfortable: on Clay u can get around it, (slow 2nd serve), but w/ a power hitter like Elena & others, your point will be an issue @ some point on the slower surfaces, especially if EB combines finesse w/ that power,
look out; the lack of a potent serve has been an Achilles heel on the WTA Tour for decades & Rybakina represents an Improvement & shift in that department by her & others in having that key weapon in one's arsenal, which speaks to your point; If the serve lacks punch, your time near or @ the
top will evaporate, because it will be exploited; and you may get served off the court, which still isn't as common as past eras w/ the Men, where someone could serve 30 to 50 aces & send you packing.
after serena,,,, I am keeping my eye on Ryakina as my new serena....
Good match. I'm looking forward to seeing Rybakina doing great things in 2024. I like her whole vibe.
Wimbledon Champion Rybakina is being disrespected by AO and it very telling of how they've marginalized her and her accomplishments.
Excelente 👏😍
Елена, поздравляю! Удачи!
Iga needed to work on her serve during the off season and she didn't. This is the result from that.
When rybakina is on, she is on point. When she is off, she is way off, not this time, sadly for Iga. Hope Iga will come back stronger and defend her points!
Iga is very beatable now.
Iga is not the unbeatable player the media and rest of the tour paint her to be. In 2023, Pegula and Rybakina have exposed the weaknesses in iga's game very well, and the other ladies would do well to take notes
LETS GO ELENAAA❤️ HE🏒🏒 Yeahhhhhhh
I just love when iga gets destroyed. She looks so uncomfortable and frustrated 😅
Jaraisyn Elena 🎉 🙌🏻 🇰🇿 🇰🇿 🇰🇿
Que bien que juega esta chica Elena Rybakina primera vez que la veo jugar, juega un tenis práctico pero a la vez efectivo.
Rybakina was too overwhelming in this match.
Rybakina coming from the 3-0 lead in the 2nd round is one of life's proof that turnarounds happen
That is not turnaround. That is called the Real No. 1 player rested for a while. That's Steffi Graf style.
Why show slow motion replays 3 times and skip important pressure points like breaking iga in 5-4? This makes me sick
Elana reminds me of kavitova
Wanna see finals with this girls, in AO next year and soon in RG
my god this was brutal, she routined her...
GO RYBAKINA!!!!!!!!!!
Iga lost in her first two tournaments last year as well
Rybakina beaten her before too
It’s so rare to see especially in sports someone this calm and mature, I just love the fact she just goes on about her game with no unnecessary idiotic rants! Gotta love her for that.
These highlights would be so much more enjoyable to watch if “you” didn’t tell us who the winner is up front…you always put the picture of the winner in the caption…start putting both players
I can't blame Iga about loosing against Rybakina, she can't concentrate in front of her beauty 😂
Congratulations 🎉❤
Go Rybakina!
Thank you video brilliant compliment
IGA got somebody to ramp with her
Elena is a beast. To handle Iga like this the others are soggy toast. It’s over! AO Champ 🙇🏽♀️
Anything can happen.
No screams, no goofy's waving arms facing smashes, no bad mouth, just pure tennis talent.
Grande Elena, Kazajistán, tierra poderosa semi-eslava..!!!
Swiatek keeps losing her balance and constantly flat footed by the sheer power of Rybakina's ground strokes. The world number 1 seems to lose her edge nowadays hopefully she can recover soon.
I love when Iga gets defeated by the under dog
