He just announced his retirement. I’m so bumped out that I never got to see him live, especially in this role. I love how sweet and soft-spoken he is. It’s a shame that he hasn’t been featured that much on this channel.
+Sarah Hearn-vonFoerster Olympic athletes most likely have brains too, but you are correct, ballet dancers most likely are the single most developed human beings.
Luke 12:29-31 And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you.
Why are principal dancers the only ones allowed to attend the class of the opposite dancer? What is the thought process behind it and why would they take the opposite class if, as I'm assuming, it's tailored to the gender of the class? Thanks!
Most companies are flexible on class, it's not always actually required for the dancer to go to class each day and you can choose which class you go to, or even where you go to class, but there is a saying that goes something like "miss class one day and you feel it, miss it two days and the director will see it, miss it three days and the audience will see it". Principal women will often attend mens class when they want to work on their jumps. I think there is a video somewhere on youtube of Sara Mearns of NYCB going to the advanced boys class at the School of American Ballet.
Anne Harrison I thought RB class was compulsory every day (unless injured). There might be different classes tailored more to men or women, but everyone has to do it.
MarIrisFM really?!? i had a feeling he was rather tall. i saw him live about a month ago and even then, because he was up on stage, i still couldn't get a good guesstimate. i had him at my height (which is 6') so i guess i was close! it's funny how much different he and david hallberg look on stage, given that they are virtually the same height. although, ed definitely has better muscle mass/tone compared to david.
Well ordinary men are awful more often than not, dancers have sculpted Bodies, do a lot of work out, Pilates, ballet class and eventually perform in ballet such as Mayerling, Spartak; Romeo& Juliet and so on that are a Joy to watch.

¡EDWARD WATSON & STEVEN MCRAE! My two favorite male dancers. Wheeldon should create a piece for those two. Something fiery to match.
Daniel Guerrero Agreed! first time seeing them was Alice...been following their works ever since. Winters Tale is mesmerizing!
Daniel Guerrero Mathew Ball is awesome too.
Daniel Guerrero I would honestly sell my soul to the Devil to see Ed as Crassus and Steven as Spartacus in Grigorovich’s Spartacus.
Adore these videos of Edward Watson…a dancer with such integrity
i love him...
ewwww!!! Then why don't you go ahead and marry him?!
Uh what are you six? Get a life. And fyi, I'd love to marry such a talented dancer like him.
Aw, I wish I could come see this production - it looks gorgeous already! Too bad that I live thousands of miles away...
I will say it again. Performing artists are Olympic athletes with brains..
Cute!!! LOL

Johnny Wewoka Thank you. It is a serious comment, though.
Sarah Hearn-vonFoerster I took it as a serious comment---:-)))
My comment was also serious. :-)))
Johnny Wewoka In that case, I thank you sincerely once more.
He looks sooo well in that black Prince Rudolph's outfit. I think i'm in love with him.
Long legs and long arms are a must . . . in this person's opinion. Looks so elegant that a man is music embodified (is that a word? IT IS NOW!).
Andre R. Newcomb Whenever I come up with neologisms, I say the same thing ( is it a word? Now it is) ! And you‘re right, his proportions are perfect 🍀
He's lovely.
WOW, so inspirational for me being an aspiring dancer!
saw both monica mason and leslie collier many times at their time in RB were very fine dancers.and l was 25 ,great time.
Thanks a lot. It's so importante to us see what happen before and behind scenes.
He has very nice technique with his feet. I can tell he catches on to things very quickly!
His toes are so long! He's also brilliant.
I'm in love with him.
So talented
God, I love him!
He has better turnout than some of the ladies. It's rather perfect.

Actually, I have a permanently fractured hip with Osteoarthritis, and I can use some of this. Thanks from Brighton.

who is the blond woman at minute six?
I love the fact that he use slippers instead of fancy warmup "booties".
does anyone know how tall ed is?? he seems tall but i'm a bad judge of height when people are on camera..

I thought Monica Mason has retired already?
Hellooooo Royal , hello England , hello Europe✋✋✋✋✋✌👊👊
That's a huge assumption :)
Cindy Jourdain
.....is he really? I guess one has to be, otherwise one wouldn't be that sensitive as Watsie is!
i still think that she comes in and coaches a lot - she's only retired from being artistic director
pause at 4:19 and admire for hours!
LOLxxxFIFIxxxLOL Haha yesssss!
🙆
Seriously?
Is the only reason you ladies watch ballet is because of the men in tights. For God sakes, how old are you? Have some class.
Well that’s only part of it. 😆
