I wish I'd seen that 5 days ago. I bought some stuff that don't even work now. But I'm going to buy that. Thank you. Best video so far that i've seen about it
Did the same thing last year on my old boat. Got a new boat this year, bought another bike holder but I haven't found a good pole yet. I like your setup. Thanks for taking the time to make a video. Nice to see there are more geniuses out there lol
Yes sir! We all have it in us just takes patience to figure things out. But yes it works like a charm. Pvc pole gets the job done for me but I'm sure I'll figure something out to make it even better. Catch em all!
Well done! I just did mine using the same mount and connected it to my track system. Like you said, it's fantastic and very adjustable when you want to move and stow it.
Great idea using the bike mount. I curious while using your live scope while trolling does the bike mount hold the pole vertical with out bending due the force of the water? I built a setup very similar to what you had with the ram mount and the pole and transducer keep bending unless I keep my boat stationary.
Well it's PVC so at some point it will flex depending how fast your trolling. I tested at 2mph with no problem but maybe at 5mph it may flex but I don't keep the livescope pole down at those speeds anyway.
I have the same mount from summit, I had no idea it was a repurposed bike holder lol. Nice way to save some $ going your route. Only thing I would do is replace the hardware with stainless steel, some of the bolts and screws are rusting on mine after a month.
🤣 yes. After I looked at both for some time I realized it's the same damn thing basically. Will definitely keep that in mind with the rusting. None yet so I should be good.
I did mine this same way, my bike mount was a little different but the principle was the same. I looked at the store bought mounts and while I don't mind spending money on my habit, I mean my hobby, they want way too much for those things. I might experiment with some rolled aluminum one day, but until then, PVC is good enough.
I'm just in the "shopping list" stage of Livescope but I think this is the route I'll go for a pole mount! In my mind I want a mount in both the front and back, so on a windy day I can spotlock down and fish towards the wind blown bank. Do you think it's needed or do you think just pointing the ducer to the rear would be sufficient? Great vid and new sub here!😎🤘
I would say boat positioning helps but simply turning the livescope towards the rear of boat is good enough. But it won't hurt to have both on my opinion.
I don't have one that goes in depth. But just like I did I just searched the hundreds of videos on youtube that shows you how to create it that best suits me.
Does wonderful at 1mph for trolling... you get more tightness control with this mount. That's why I got fed up with the ram mount setup due to it always becoming loose.
Great idea, has anyone come up with a way to make the base that bolts directly to the floor or gunnel detachable?I want to still be able to put my boat cover back on and with the pole sticking up it is not possible?
@@BristlesMowing hmmm...I see what you're saying. I keep my seats in when I cover the boat so I don't have that issue unfortunately. I rather the water just run off like a tent. As far as the base being detachable I've not seen that yet but seems possible.
Great video! I'm strongly considering going with the RockBros mount on a homemade pole. One thing I can't find are the actual dimensions of the base where you bolt it down. I'd be looking to put it on a mount for a track system, but it looks awfully big. Amazon doesn't give the dimensions of the mount and I tried emailing to company with no response. You have any guesstimates on the length and width of it?
@@fredbfishintv I appreciate you checking on the measurements, sir! It the track system doesn't work out, I'll likely try to fabricate something that can be a bit mobile for me.
🤣 I purchased a bike rack mount... now I do see the similarities in both and couldn't tell you who came out with their product first but clearly somebody copied somebody... lol either way this one was cheaper!🎣💪🏾

Nice! I'm probably gonna hit the creek tomorrow to test it out!
Dude, You're an absolute genius!!! THANK YOU!!
We all have those genius moments every now and then. 😆 but thanks!
Pulled the trigger on the mount. Love how sturdy it is. Thanks
💯
A buddy of mine did the same thing (might have even used an identical bike rack). He loves his setup.
@@jasonprox700 I love it! It definitely works for me.
Awesome, video my friend! i’m definitely gonna look into this idea. Thanks again.👍🏻
Works very well! No movement even at trolling speed.
Great video good information Thanks

Who you telling! Lol
Nice job.. just ordered one

I bought this the other day for my livescope and now this video come across my RUclips page lol,
RUclips algorithm is crazy...
But it works perfect for me so hopefully it serves its purpose for you as well!
Same thing I did for mine, and makes a good bow mount telescoping fish finder screen with

I like this mount. Putting a live scope on my boat now
@@stripermanly works for my needs so this should help!

Not all hero’s wear caps. Looks perfect for my needs, thanks. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I use the ram mount to stop my trolling motor from bouncing probably do the same for the mount
Might test that out!
Use the ram mount to hold the back end of the pole when you stow it.
Transducer end so it isn’t bouncing.
🤔 not a bad idea! 💯🎣

How long is your scope pole?
I'd have to double check but I'm sure no longer than 4 ft.
I did this. I had to add pins to ensure it did not twist or rotate.
Nice. I haven't tested on the water yet but I'm itching to do so. By the secureness of it doesn't seem like it will give me issues but will see!
Did the pins sturdy the pole so you could trol..?
