Hey, BGT regular here, Kumba is still a popular attraction! It's short line is actually due to its capacity and location in the park. I've seen them cycle a maxed que over two times in one hour. It's almost always on 2 trains. I've been told by the ride's supervisor that the rider numbers are much higher than people think. As for the email saying that was leaked, all we know is that it "looked" legit, not that it "was". The park's language indicates a retrack.
Same here, Kumba is ran and operated WAY better then Montu. I have a feeling the park will phase retrack it over the coming years. I have even seen them operate 4 people something Montu does not ever do as well as them hit 35 cycles. The ride has 4 trains but ALWAYS has 1 train in rebuild and 1 train as a backup so the ride is also perfectly good. I also saw a huge crate by the ride recently as well as they installed a new gear box about a year ago and maintaining the ride by replacing smaller supports with more built ones.
I have a feeling that Kumba is not going anywhere soon and the Giga will be placed in Jungala area, likely where Python was and going out to the ponds in the back lot.
Kumba gets a partial retrack it's going no where. A giga is the next logical expansion for BGT. T-Rex ain't happening in any parK my opinion even though I really want one to be built Great prediction video. I just think your off course with BGT 👍🏻
As a regular passholder/enthusiast of Busch Gardens Tampa (and who knows LOTS of people who work there), Kumba isn’t going anywhere ANYTIME SOON! They literally just made new signs for Kumba. I heard that our next coaster, whenever that may be (I’ve heard coasters for 2026 and 2028), is definitely going in the Jungala area by the tigers and orangutans. They had that whole kids area which has been closed for close to a year now. I heard that it may start there and go back to behind Kumba. I don’t think Scorpion is getting replaced anytime soon either. It’s a classic coaster and a great starter coaster for kids. And the Cheetah Hunt thing is 100% false. You will never get the restraints changed. If they haven’t done them on Kingda Ka, they ain’t doing it on Cheetah Hunt. And Cheetah Hunt is my #1 coaster. 2025 is probably going to be park improvements and such.. maybe something major for Adventure Island
If bgt gets a giga I don't think it'll be bnm I think it'll be intamin or hear me out mack rides. Seaworld already has a bnm hyper about an hour off I get bnm hypers differ from their gigas but I don't see them making a bnm giga. They already have connections with mack rides with manta and cobra's curse and their hypers and very different to bnms if mack were to make a giga it would be here. Also dc rivals is my favorite hypercoaster hands down. I'd love to see what they could do with a giga. Also intamin I could see them working with something like a larger scale hyperion is something I could see them doing. If they were getting a giga I would say it would be intamin in my mind but I wish it would be mack. Also this is just a throw in the dark prediction that I know will never happen but if they don't want to deal with the height restriction steal the inversion record with a gerstlauer infinity coaster also it'll be extremely unique to anything the us has the offer and the marketability of it would be very appealing to seaworld parks in my opinion but I'd doubt it would ever happen.
My idea would be replace scorpion with a rmc raptor and add another raptor brining back python have it scorpion vs python , and giga T. rex rmc kumba , then add the giga water ride brining back tidal wave

Well Busch Gardens just replaced Kumba's logo so I doubt it's closing anytime soon lol.

That's about the same time I figured as well, maybe even into 2027...I'd be be perfectly happy with a B&M hyper, giga or not...

The t-rex was more of food for thought, and Kumba could easily stay considering it's a fan favorite. We'll have to see I guess!

Kumba is very popular it just has very good capacity
its not that popular at all. The lines are very short, all of the seats on the ride are never full and its basically no wait to get on
