The Batman’s Matt Reeves on Whether Superman Could Appear in a Sequel

- With The Batman opening in movie theaters on March 4, I recently had the chance to speak with director Matt Reeves about making his hugely anticipated DC movie. Since I’d already been part of a press conference with Reeves and Robert Pattinson that covered so many subjects including why they didn’t want to do another origin story, their thoughts on Death in the Family, the trouble with emoting in Batman’s cowl, why Riddler as the first villain, how Pattinson found Batman’s voice, and their thoughts on Mr. Freeze, I used my time to pose questions he hadn’t been asked.
One of the things Reeves has said many times is that he wanted to make a Batman movie that kept everything as grounded and realistic as possible and offered a take on the character fans haven’t seen before. When you see the movie next week, you’ll see he accomplished his goal, and fans will get a film unlike any previous Batman movie.
But something I wondered while watching Reeves take on the Caped Crusader was if other DC superheroes - like Superman - existed in this version of Batman. In this grounded and realistic take, is there room for a Kryptonian?
So when I spoke to Reeves the other day, I asked if Superman and other DC superheroes existed in his version of Batman, or if this was a separate world without superhuman characters. He told me:
“It's a high wire act to do a Batman movie, right? Because the character's been around for 80 years, everyone has their own version in their head and there have been great movies. The last thing I wanted to do was come in there and feel like I had to do something with the highest degree of difficulty and then also find the ways that it connects to everything else. My thing was, from the beginning, I said, "Look, I think it's enough to try and just do a bat verse, to do a Batman movie," and that that's where this begins.
I suppose it's not impossible to believe that somewhere down the line, they could connect to something else, but that was not my interest in this, and it's not my interest in what we would do in follow-ups at the moment either. I feel like the whole point in us working with this incredible cast and this incredible crew to realize this movie that sort of, I really believe, is a fresh and different version of these characters is to pursue every ... There are a lot of great characters in the Gotham world and so the idea of leaning into that, that's really my interest right now.”
I followed up by saying I don’t need to see Superman in a sequel, I just wanted to know if he existed in this Batman world. Reeves replied:

It's nice to see Jim Gordon is directing a Batman film.
I thought the same. 😂
He should've been Gordon...
right he is the perfect look for jim but i like the jim we got for the film
Ned Flanders
Dude fr! 😂😂😂
It’s clear that he doesn’t want people to start asking about other heroes all the time. These heroes can exist but he’s making a BatVerse for now.
Great to hear Matt doesn’t close the door for a future director to come to his world and build up another hero.
Yes, to be honest, that's the way to go to build a strong and long-running franchise. Focus on one character at a time. Batman, Bat-Family, Gotham and after the trilogy or spin-offs, bring in Superman Wonder Woman and so on. Like DCAU OR MCU OR Arrowverse.
Let's be real - DC and Marvel suck. It's just that Batman and Spiderman are awesome. The Flash? I mean who gives a shit. The only way that people are going to see that movie is because there are two Batmans in it lol.
yeah and I really appreciate that too, DC really rushed the Justice League and it shows. If they want to have Superhero crossovers they need to give them proper time to develop in their own respective franchises. I think it might be cooler anyway for this Batman to stay separate similar to Christopher Nolan's Batman.
Multiverse is coming time will tell
I like what Matt Reeves said. Keep other Justice League members out. Leave all of the interconnected super hero’s for the DCEU. It would be cool to see a Batgirl, Nightwing or Robin eventually, but I’d be happy with it just being Batman.
yeah the fanservice of puting everyone on the same movie of DCEU and Marvel latest movies is only making for low quality bad written content, so glad to have a proper *hopefully* trilogy of good writing, storytelling and cinema
Those movies are gonna bomb hard and that's a fact
We aren’t gonna see batgirl anytime soon the dceu already is on that not the bat verse it’s officially called the bat verse he said it himself all tho they did mention Robin !!!
Except the DCEU has dissolved into rehashes and cancellations and rebooting universes (Flash).
I agree. I’m so glad it’s just a Batman movie…. Movies now are obsessed with including 100 fucking characters in every movie. All cash grabs *cough MCU and Snyderv3rse cough*
I love that he doesn't rule out the idea of Superman existing in this world even though he's not interested in telling that story right now. He can focus on a Batverse and someone else can build a brand new superman movie in the same earth but it doesn't have to connect. But that's not my concern, I want fantastical villains that can be grounded in this world. Like Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy and Mad Hatter.
Just bring Henry Superman in a alternate verse
Yes. Cast David Corenswet for Kal-El for Battinson's world.
This is how a movie should focus. We can see that both superman and batman in their respective cities despite in the same universe and world have also their own world, same can ve said for flash, wonder woman, Green arrow and all these big characters have each their own unique cities and worlds which are not comparable yet they öive in the same world.
And if one wants to introduce a new interpretation of a heroe into live action matt reeves did the right thing focusing on batman and his world alone. Sure the others are not excluded but he doesn't want to focus on that. Gotham has Batman, Robins, Catwoman, Batgirl batwoman etc etc. Tons of rich characters to coild brought into his batverse not to mention a number of unknown or underated villain never seen before but were fantastic in the batman world.
@@sup3414 spread this agenda!!!
I hope Superman gets a director who loves the character and knows the character similar to Matt Reeves to Batman.
Christopher McQuarrie should do Superman
Matt Reeves looking like the most accurate Jim Gordon ever lol
He should've played him.
Matt Reeves is smart enough not to have Metropolis and Gotham separated by a lake. I love that his sole focus is on Gotham and I'm 100% percent excited to see it.
Only Snyder can be that stupid 😂😂😂😂
What is wrong with that exactly? Idgi.
@@karnasingh860 I found it hilarious that you could actually see the bat signal from metropolis.
@@RewMec226 Having Superman live that close to Gotham makes Batman irrelevant
I think it was a thin river
*We’ve never had a Batman for the long haul* Affleck was gonna be it - but it didn’t work out - Rob seems genuinely enthused for the role and has a great director backing him.. so if we watched this Batman grow over several years - spanning across more than a trilogy.. he’d be the definitive Batman. Marvel’s doing the same thing with Spider-Man so why not 🤷♂️
I’m glad they found a director who cares about the characters and not just doing the films because they care cool
Nah if you’re saying that Zack didn’t care like at all about Batman, then you’re wrong. He cares, he’s just incompetent
@@jsuisdetrop …….I meant they got someone who actually wanted to give what fans wanted and not a shit film like venom or uncharted

Matt Reeves and James gunn Will save DC 🔥🔥
In my opinion, I wouldn't mind if other DC heroes or characters wouldn't show up in this Batverse, but if we listen to what Matt has said during this interview where he want to focus on Batman and his surroundings only, what he could do is simply have someone mention other DC heroes that do exist in his universe, just like in Batman Arkham Games where the thugs has repeatedly mention Superman, Metropolis etc. or try to include Lexcorp building in Gotham for example, in that way us fans would recognize or think that there are other heroes exist in the Batverse, much like how the Marvel Netflix shows where they keep mentioning MCU characters for example.
Matt is (and hopefully) one of the best things to happen to Batman and vice-versa as it is clearly his passion project cause he is such a fan.
I always thought the same as him that Gotham already has such rich characters and stories with its quality and quantity. It is hard to find the depth of these characters like Batman himself or his Rogues gallery somewhere else. So, it is maybe best to stick to its own world whether it has grounded or fantastical elements.
That being said, if Matt wants to adapt fantastical elements in the future I would rather want to see him put likes of Clayface, Man-Bat, Ivy, or Mr. Freeze than Superman.
And, he is very clear on whether there will be fantastical elements or not. It isn't if it's grounded it is if it is emotionally real.
I like it. He's basically making what the rocksteady games did but expanding it w spin offs etc. I would love to see earth 2 expand honestly
Smart move, here. You don't just JUMP into that stuff. I mean Iron man 1 didn't all of the sudden have Captain America and Thor show up out of nowhere. They hinted at it further down the line, so that we could get attached to Iron Man before introducing anybody else. THAT is how you do interconnected characters. You take your time, and have patience.
It’d be interesting to see how Robin could be integrated to this interpretation of Batman; I’d like to see a realistic take on the dynamic duo
Totally respect what he’s going for. My question would be “do superpowers/fantastical elements exist at all in this world?” Can we see characters like Mr. Freeze, Clayface, Poison Ivy, Or comic accurate Bane? If not, I think I’d rather see this Batman face off against grounded characters only like Penguin, Hush, and maybe someday Joker instead of seeing stripped down non superpowered versions of characters.
Proof that Deathstroke is underrated
Bane,Freeze, and Hush, even Holiday are some amazing suggestions.
But Deathstroke would be awesome to.
We have enough Fantastical superhero movies out there. This Gotham verse is perfect
Professor Pyg?
@@markai2002 I was going to comment that.
That would be a awesome and scary as hell villain for the 2nd film.
I hope we see superpowered characters
Gotham is filled with so much lore and great characters that matt reeves could contain the story too only Gotham yet keep the possibility that other dc characters could exist
What's so hard to understand that he want's to do a Batman film without any characters from the Justice League
The interviewer probably saw the set pictures of the Halloween party in the film, where people were dressed up as superman and Wonder Woman. As well as the Gotham newspapers that mentioned metropolis
Because Batman is a character from DC Comics, and there are other superheroes there. I'd love to see a well executed Superman/Batman film.
@Oreofe Idowu yes we do need to see it again. Just with more detective focus.
Perfect, love this vision. I would love nothing more than a solo batverse. Explored the same way the Arkham Video Games flesh out the rich history and events that Gotham City offers. I hope we can explore Gotham through the eyes of Catwoman, it would be awesome to see Gotham through the eyes of a Rogue / anti hero
In the Arkham games Superman has been confirmed to exist but we never saw him, I’d like for this to be the same In that way so Superman can exist but it focuses mainly on the mythology of Batman.
Superman existed in the Arkham Video Games.
Superman definitely exists in his film’s universe tho. Set pictures confirmed this. He just probably won’t be outright mentioned.
thats what the Catwoman series is gonna be about hopefully!
What we're really talking about here is tone. There's plenty of Batman comics, one's that Reeves is basing his movie on, that obviously exist in the same universe as Superman and the JLA. But it wouldn't be appropriate for any of those characters to appear in a gritty dark Batman story. They still exist in the same universe though
I really like this take, making realistic yet beautiful and artistic dc movies centred around performance and not just cgi
I honestly do want to see a Justice Leagues/DC Universe that is organically created. I do feel like Batman works as well in Justice League as he does in solo comics. It’s just about planning it out, taking the time and creating it naturally and not throwing out every idea the moment there is a little negative reception. Matt Reeves Batman works because he took the time, did research and planned out a Batman movie that works and feels natural. We just need the same energy put in with the an overall DC movie. Notice Matt says not right not, not completely writing it off. It’s possible. Just taking the time and putting the effort in goes a long way
I hope they introduce the more "sci fi" elements of the batman mythos in the sequel movies. Mister Freeze has a really good and compelling story and he deserves to get his due. I feel like if you get too focused on "grounding" batman then you are just depriving yourself of some of the character's coolest elements. I like more 'noir' focused Batman stories much as the next guy but the stand alone Batman films have largely shied away from the more fantastical elements of the character since Batman and Robin bombed at the box office. If a major hollywood studio can make people fall in love with the stories of a talking tree and a talking racoon I don't think it will be that hard to make them buy into the fact that a man has a freeze ray.
Matt Reeves recently said in an interview:
“In my view, I just feel drawn to finding the grounded version of everything. So to me it would be a challenge in an interesting way to try and figure out how that could happen, even the idea of something like Mr. Freeze, that’s such a great story, right? I think there’s actually a grounded version of that story, which could be really powerful and could be really great.”
(I copied and pasted this from an article. You can also look up Matt Reeves talking about Mr Freeze in interviews and confirm it for yourself.)
I don't think you can or should introduce more fantastical elements into this version of Batman and Gotham. I would love to see a serious Mr. Freeze adaptation and Reeves already talked about his interest in Mr. Freeze and I think there's a possibility to make a more grounded version (maybe similar to the way Nolan grounded Bane for example), but I don't think you can do something like Clayface because it would harm the credibility of this world. I hope there will be a Batman movie one day that unites the grounded detective noir elements with the fantastical elements like the Arkham games did for example, but for now I would like this version to stick with the more grounded approach. I actually really like Pattinson's idea of doing the court of owls.
@@adi_movic Nolan’s bane was terrible
@@adonishardaway5106 if you think that, that's all right but I love him

The Arkham games show off that you can have a serious, dark story with still having the fantastic characters like clayface.
Al I've ever wanted is a film series slowly building the bat-family over time
It's nice to see Omni man not give out his secrets in his BatVerse
A World's Finest movie would be perfect for the rebooted DCEU. With Pattinson as Batman and Corenswet as Superman. Just think about it for a moment.
And look what happened David corenswet is cast as Superman
My guy consistently asks the right questions. A lot of interviewers are asking the same boring ass surface questions over and over.
Asking if Superman can show up is the definition of a surface level question
Hmm this is a perfect time for a reboot and I’d love to see the setting contrast of his Gotham and whatever he comes up with for Metropolis. I city that had better fortune than Gotham, what Gotham could’ve been. Seeing a gullible kind Clark vibe with a within his shell brooding Bruce who shows hints of him wanting to break out of his own cycle of inner torture. And see maybe Clark break that and for them to be friends or even just a mention would be nice. I just feel like Reeves has the closest vibe and writing to the animated shows
He says it's not impossible but he just wanna Build his own realistic Batman verse. Before jumping on another Batman.
Awesome 👏
Take it slow. If Super-Man ever were to appear, it should be after everything in the Reeves Bat-verse feels comfortable. Like he said, there would be shock just like in real life. Make it so Batman/Bruce is the only one capable of handling something so groundbreaking as this enough for him to accept Super-Man as one of his own. BVS did this perfectly. I feel it was maybe a bit too rushed or we just weren't ready
Yep this is DC redemption chance right here. I think Matt Reeves verse would make a great official DC univers e
maybe they could do grounded justice league? Like Superman being just a little bit strong than normal human, The flash just run fast like usain bolt, Aquaman just being good at water. lol
Think Matt has his story and trilogy already laid out and it will be epic, I’am in for the ride!
I think he saw what happened with BVS and wants nothing to do with any of that, I think he just wants to focus on Batman and Batman only for the trilogy.
Let’s hope so! I hate Snyderverse and MCU type films.
You know what Batman year one did? It mentioned him...all they did was make a simple reference to a flying man in a red cape in Metropolis...that's it...that's all you need. BVS was WB, and DC panicking at the success of the MCU, and that's the foundation of why it did not work. Now would be a perfect time to world build, but SLOWLY this time. Make a solo Superman film, solo Green Lantern, Solo Wonder Woman, so on, and so fourth, and just bring them all together after they've been established...it's what they should have done the first time.

This is such an underrated film. The whole singular idea, by Matt Reeves, that this is a man who is unhinged and unhealthily obsessed with fighting the criminal element at night who is constantly beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands and with his unlimited amount of vast resources at his disposal. All he sees in the criminal element, in this corrupt town that his family helped to build and found dating back to the late 1800s, are the people who killed his parents as a young child making him an orphan.
So, he dons the mantle of that which he fears the most, in the form of the Batman, after training for the majority of his life to rid his city of the evil that took his parent's lives. He dosen't know who was responsible for killing Thomas and Martha Wayne so every criminal he sees, to him, is the criminal that killed his parents on that fateful night when he was only 10 years old. He is addicted to this mission, like a drug, so as both Bruce and Batman, he spends all of his time, trying to succeed in this impossible task he has set up for himself. That's why he never sees the light of day as Billionaire Bruce Wayne and is a social outcast and pariah. He is a man driven by vengeance; by revenge. By the end of this journey, as we see Bruce on a physical, mental, emotional and psychological level and transform from a young, naive, impatient man who makes mistakes still early in his career as a crime fighter we see him then become something else by the end...a symbol of hope, an ideal, a form of inspiration that makes criminals terrified to step out at night and commit their atrocities that makes Gotham City one of the worst places to call home. A city with a history and a foundation steeped in corruption and crime that ties back to the Wayne family and and their vast fortune. It also plants the seeds that will give him the inspiration to step out in the light of day to transform into the billionaire, playboy industrialist more interested in dating models and driving fast cars in order to hide in plain sight so no one would be able to distinguish Bruce Wayme is actually the Batman. A man consumed by vengeance who transforms into a symbol of hope. Obviously a film inspired by the comic book mythos and Arkham video game series and Batman animated series from the 1990s.
Ironically, a film consisting of character arc transformations and worldbuilding moments that is actually one of the most faithful Batman comic book movies to the original source material in the 1940s. Such as Detective comics issue 27 from 1937 and batman issue 1 in 1940 created by Bob kane, Bill finger and Jerry Robinson.
Then, the new 52 comics such as court of owls and Zero year by tomeu morey, john ottley, Jim lee, Scott Snyder. Batman year one by jim lee, David Mazuchelli and Frank miller as well as Batman: the long halloween and Batman: ego and other tales. This essay is lterally just scratching the surface of why it's actually one of the best batman films yet up their with the likes of the Dark knight from 2008.
Matt Reeves looks like Commissioner Gordon.
All the interviews seem to praise the world building of this Gotham a lot which is certainly what stands out to me in the trailers. I'd be curious to see what Dick or Jason end up being like in this Gotham. Now that would be interesting further down the line!
i hope it will connect joker from todd philips to matt reeves batman as both world seems so similar
Would be awesome if that's what reeves is doing with batman and creating a batmanverse did with superman, find a director to do what reeves is doing with batman now with superman and even better would be if they used superman american alien as inspiration for a new superman in theathers and that would be the super of this reeves batman's universe, opening the possibility for series as well.
Man, I wish we had someone like Matt Reeves to work on a Spider-Man movie franchise.
No MCU connection, no Studio Interference. Just a movie franchise all about Spider-Man, all under 1 director's vision. Comic accurate/focused and everything.

@@spider-man500 Raimi's Spider-Man wasn't comic accurate...in fact, none of the Spider-men are. They're all bits and pieces of comic accuracy, but none of them stick the landing 100%. Isolating a superhero to a universe where only he exists as the lone hero is the antithesis of what comic book creators stand for. Stan Lee purposefully built a world where all of his heroes could interact...a world where Spider-Man could swing past the Baxter building, while Luke Cage and Danny Rand are buying a hot dog in the streets below. You don't have to like the MCU, but the fact is, this is the closest thing (outside of a few animated shows) that we have to a living breathing comic book.

I get it and completely understand why Matt doesn't want it or want to really encourage the talk around it. I do find it funny though how these directors are always so apprehensive to say that in there universe Metropolis could theoretically have an existential crisis to a Superman existing, but that he doesn't for the world they're building around Gotham.

I would love to see a proper comic book accurate Superman, the way this film is pretty comic book accurate Batman film. This may be a bit of a crazy hire but I would love to see Rian Johnson direct the Superman film. I didn't like his Star Wars like a lot of other people but I didn't like any of the new Star Wars films(only Mandolorian is the new star wars thing i love)... but I loved Rian Johnsons other films especially Knives Out and I think if you gave him a Superman film from the start not a sequel he would do a great job. Also would love to see a John Stewart Green Lantern film directed by Alex Garland....
Your comment really made me curious why Rian Johnson for Superman, or more specifically why Superman for Rian Johnson? Because I feel like another superhero might fit him better, although admittedly I'm unsure which superhero. I've seen four films of his (Brick, Looper, Last Jedi, and Knives Out), and it's become clear to me that he's much more of a genre filmmaker (noir, sci-fi, space action-adventure, mystery). And out of those four films, his weakest was the space action-adventure, arguably the closest to the modern superhero film, especially when dealing with Superman. And so I think he might fit better with a superhero other than Superman.
And because I've typed this much, why don't I type up some more? lol. I'm also unsure if Alex Garland is the best fit for a Green Lantern film, seeing as his particular forte is philosophical sci-fi. For some reason, Martian Manhunter is the character that pops up in my head for him. Captain Atom as well.
@@justinromero8859 With Superman, Rian Johnson's film that stands out is Knives Out, the Journalism film can also be counted as a genre and remember Superman is in the Superhero Genre so you still have that. But with Knives Out the story is a dark story but the tone is fun, playful and really smart and thats what I think of when I see Superman especially Superman The Animated Series (1996).
For Alex Garland, he loves Science Fiction and Green Lantern is just that, but his characters at times are darker, quieter and sometimes stubborn characters, I think he would do an amazing job with John Stewart and create a great world for him with new supporting characters and innovative villains. John Stewart(From the cartoons) is based on Samuel L Jackson's characters from the 90s but if those characters were younger, toned downed and had a military background, which I think Alex Garland might have fun with, especially since he wrote Dredd (2012)
YO I WAS LITERALLY THINKING TO MYSELF YESTERDAY THAT WARNER BROS SHOULD GET RIAN JOHNSON FOR A SUPERMAN FILM. great minds think alike. he really knows how to do a profound movie with motifs/imagery and he has an artistic eye when it comes to picking cinematographers which would suit a superman movie
@@oatmat Ok ok, I can see where you're coming from, and that's a pretty fun take on Superman. Honestly, I'm having a hard time thinking up of examples other than "Christopher Reeves Superman but better" lol.
Didn't know Alex wrote Dredd, and I can see what you mean! Although the more I think about it, the more excited I get thinking about a Martian Manhunter or Captain Atom film from Garland.
Its better to just stick with Batman and go through his rogues gallery. Pushing Batman to his limits in different ways. Would be fun like the Arkham games. Maybe a comic book accurate Bane would be nice.
Metropolis isn’t mentioned in the prequel comic and possibly the movie for nothing, and people aren’t dressing up as Superman and WW on Halloween set photos for nothing. There’s a clear intention at some point to at least acknowledge other heroes exist, but not at the moment it seems.
No. Moving on.
Matt Reeves could Play the Perfect Gordan😅😂
if yes, the let it be tylers superman. it would be better as his supes story is already established or else rouths kingdom come supes would work.
Don't get ahead of your self DC, let the man realize his version of Gotham. More focus on other Batman villains, less on connecting a larger dc universe like Marvel.
Baldy is clever
I'm fed up with the superman question. I love superman, but why not ask any Robin, nightwing or batgirl etc...questions? We still yet to see a proper batverse, yet people like to bring the superman question. This world looks great, what matt is doing has a lot of potential. The batverse has so much it doesnt need any of the justice league heroes or any other superheroes,it should be it's own thing. Matt has his own separate franchise with the batverse, theres no need to connect outside gotham. Theres alot of great stories that can be told in the batverse, so many exciting things to show. Theres alot of things matt can build in this batverse and i'm really excited because I know matt is one of those smart directors and not only that he is a true batman fan and knows the comics. Our batman is in safe hands. Its shame superman isnt in safe hands and needs a director like matt.
The Green Lantern corps also needs a good director like Matt Reeves that can explore their own universe.
He be looking like a GCPD commissioner
I don’t wanna see Superman popping in Batman sequels.
Yeah please, we better want to the batfamily.
@@piyokoai Exactly. I’d rather see Reeves introduce characters like Jason Todd, Tim Drake, and Damien Wayne down the line instead of Superman.
even in the comics batman is grounded. his villains match him. batmans craziest villains are clay face and Ivy. the rest are regular guys
So you're saying there's a chance.
As much as I like some of the DCEU stuff just keep this one separate it does not need to bring in other DC Superheroes The Bat verse sounds good to me.
No Supes. No Robin. Realism.
To answer the interviewer's question: Matt wants to focus on Batman lore not other DC characters that wouldn't fit the grounded tone.
I would rather have Robin or Nightwing in the sequels
Call Clark
Just let him make his trilogy and then if they want to you can then have Rob expand into a Justice League or something. Now what I really want to see is to have this Bat verse finally include Robin and Batgirl. I really wanna see Dick Grayson and then a Nightwing spinoff, Jason Todd and then Red Hood and Tim Drake. We don’t need Damian he sucks anyways. As for Batgirl Barbara Gordon is one of the most important characters and having her and Dick together is something that I enjoy very much in the comics so I hope they do that too. I just think it’s time to have the Bat Family in Batman movies and spinoffs. I’m not talking about the Batgirl spinoff in the DCEU cause it seems like they’ll be tossing Batman aside for Batgirl in the DCEU which is a horrible move so if Reeves can make the Bat Family work I would love that. You can have Batman and his allies actually coexist without retiring Batman himself like they’ll do with Keaton.
Rob is never expanding into the justice league. He's like Reeves, he's only interested in staying in his own universe.
the fact that he is the perfect casting for gordon is baffling to me
I would love a denis villenueve superman movie
Hell no
@@anthonycorcino6700 why
@@laquisha5376 he's great but he's no superhero film kind of guy.
@@anthonycorcino6700 oh, I know he won't but i'm just saying it wouldprobably be a great movie.
It's gonna turn into a cartoon the minute they bring other heroes to it
Nah directors like Matt reaves work exceptionally well with cgi
Batman:TAS and Superman:TAS are really good and truly understand the characters, what is your point?
You think a dude wearing a bat costume with cute ears isn't cartoony?
i hope not, let robs batman have his own universe
Imagine if Superman flys to Gotham City every time there's a gunshot, according to the crime statistics he wouldn't have time in Metropolis at night. Batman would look like a sidekick to Superman in the eyes of Gotham's criminals.
Dceu put me off the idea. This just looks perfect.
I Definitely Could See Superman exist in the batman universe but later on down the line
I just want a live action movie where Batman and Superman are FRIENDS with each other and team up to fight a cool villain.
I thought we moved past the dark and gritty stuff . Wb is missing out on a big opportunity not having this connect to the dceu in some way .
Rumour has it pattinson will be jointhe dceu in the future
@@barry2349 will they are debunked
Ooooooooh shit he is not against it
Make Superman just don't focus on him depressed do it like CW show
ESFJ with developed Ne
If dc had just started off like this by building each of the heroes world first instead of tryin to copy marvel and makin ensemble movies we would probably be at tht crossroads for batman and superman instead
Blame snyder
