Linux Tex I tried Elementary OS 8 - but it has too many unnecessary quirks & idiosyncrasies. For my money - Lint Mint - especially LMDE-6 is the GOAT. It is rock solid and very reliable. At the end of the day - time is important to me - so a reliable trustworthy system like Mint is perfect.
Appreciate your enthusiasm. However there is one aspect that you either overlooked or disregarded: Linux Mint has a track record of rock solid stability while elementary seems to be persistently haunted by stability issues. There are still several critical bugs in elementary 8 that have not been fixed and require backdoor workarounds, most prominently the issue of the network manager not connecting at startup.
I will stick with Linux Mint 22.1 as it is rock solid and never let me down. I have been using Mint in both versions (LMDE) for years and they are both so reliable.
File size of any application in linux mint is around 1 GB. For installation of brave or chrome browser it's shows the file size to be downloaded is around that size
If you install apps as flatpaks, the file size will be large. Make sure to switch to system packages in the dropdown to install as .deb packages, which tend to be significantly smaller in size Varun.
*Varunmissile* ----- 1 Gb for any application --- As linuxTex points out - that is for 'Flatpaks' --- I use Mint LMDE-6 Debian edition and use simple time tested applications that are a fraction of the size for the same program. For example Kolourpaint as a Flatpak is 1.1 GB in size - whereas the identical program in a .deb file is under 45 mb. In other words it is 24 X smaller.
Once you installed Arch Linux and configured it the way you want and need it, every other distro appears bloated , restricted and slow. Sorry, only Arch feels like home, thats true. 🤓
After upgrading my media desktop to mint 22 from 21.3, my usb wifi cuts out at times. I used to have rtl8812cu but mint 22 uses rtw. When i dkms install it i get error. How can I install this driver?
Elementary is easy on the eyes thats about it. I do not find it very useful. To be fair Linux focus on the wrong things in 21st century. Other Operating systems for on 21st century issues eg simple things like mobility (tablets, phones), compatibility (Hardware) etc.. Instead Linux focuses on beauty.

Elementary is exactly as it's name implies
What video editor do you use
Mint because I don't like flatpacks or the Pantheon desktop. But MX Linux Xfce is my daily driver.
Great OS for an older Macbook.
Good video
Glad you enjoyed it buddy.

Ok.
meanwhile me always things to switch to fedora while on archlinux
@@abhishekpandey7148 Did it once. Bloated, slow and strange updates. not my cup of tea.
This is true but it's always kinda relieving to use a user friendly one once in a while to have a break from the constant bugs
Bloated with what? Do you use Arch from the CLI with no desktop no applications? You need a full functioning desktop right?
I dislike Elementary OS,just do a Gnome tweak on ubuntu to lookalike Mac,its much safer
Gnome is more minimal
If cannot minimize a window
, that's not for me 😅😮

Thanks Varun :)

Because Linux is just one distro? Linux has hundreds of distro and some are focussing on beauty and some on other things.
NEVER install ElementaryOS - this is sooooo shitty :)
