I'm a 63 yr old musician, who's loved music all my life, especially complex stuff that has soul and I've been very , very fussy about who I call a genius. This fella is the real deal, it's not just this song.
I'm the same, my friend, and 66. I have never seen anything quite like this. I must have watched the video close on a hundred times now and I'm still blown away by it. Ren quite possibly is a genius.

I am a disabled senior metalhead...and I love this kid. Everyone can relate to his angel/demon inner dialog...we all have doubts. This song hits me hard. I have severe mental illness, and I am at the dusk of my life. My battle with mental illness never ended, so instead I had to learn to roll with it and survive. I am an artist, poet, writer, and game designer with a little bit of advice:
There is always that part of your mind saying that you can't do something. Do it anyway. I now have early onset dementia and I am no longer able to create, but I am able to look back over the work I have finished without regret because I was able to ignore that constant self doubt.

I was shook
Being diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS at 61, I can relate to this in personal way.
The pendulum for me swings hour to hour with my physical limitations.
He really hit home when he said clumbsy footsteps, very literal for me.
I'm sure he goes through the same thing with Lyme.
Both diseases also lead to mental issues dealing with these limitations.
I cant imagine having to suffer with Lyme disease at such a young age. Autoimmune problems rob you of so much of your life and with invisible illnesses such as Lyme and MS you can look normal so its hard for to people understand the struggle. He is a huge inspiration.
I have taught myself guitar to help deal with the my physical struggles and I really enjoy it.
Creativity is a great way to deal with these issues and highly recommend it.
Also being a Industrial designer have a been working on products to assist handicap people with their mobility issues which brings a new positive relevance to my life.
Everything happens for a reason and Ren has proven that to us with this beautiful artistic piece
Yours was pretty much my reaction to my reaction to hearing/seeing this for the first time plus uncontrollable tears. I've watched countless reactions to this. I don't like to see anyone cry but my favorite reactors to this are the ones who really get it and you can see it in their faces; in their tears. Not everyone has the same breaking point but you can see it and with so many, I feel like I'm not alone. I really appreciated your reaction and hope you go further with his music because you will see that he is pure genius in every genre he tackles. He's not dipping his toes into anything. He is swimming with the talent of Michael Phelps but across oceans, unrelentingly. Peace and strength to everyone here.

Sub Conscious Ren - the light is behind him, so his face is in the dark, the lights flicker when he speaks and he strums his guitar more aggressively.
Patient Ren - the light is in front of him brightening his face, lights are calm, no flickering, and guitar strumming is smooth and melodic.

Why is the volume of the artist so low?
Turn off YT's crap Auto-Gen captions, they are always wrong and annoying to have to watch. You studio is small and very bright acoustically, too much echo, get sometime on the walls maybe to dampen it.
I am so glad you are one of the few that caught the meaning as the lyrics flowed, many don't get smacked by the phrase 'The voice you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope.' For some that is a very personally impactful statement.
