Holy heck, man, this is so sick! While I may be a Sonic neophyte, I can definitely appreciate the style of the series' music from this era of gaming, and you've beautifully captured that Sonic essence in all regards here.
I love the modern, synthetic-sounding instrumentation, and the way you've integrated all kinds of warping, shifting, and phasing effects into both the instrumental and vocal tracks. You really get the sense of being in a heavy, industrial kind of setting while listening, and it's so immersive. I love how spacious and all-encompassing it sounds, and you create that sensation from the very start, with that cool chipsynth glissando at the beginning (and in later iterations, as well) The synths in general - particularly the lower-octave ones - have this gritty, dark texture to them, and it perfectly fits the character of Shadow, Rouge, and the rest of the anti-Hero crew. Whereas the team Sonic songs have always been brighter, more vibrant, and uplifting, these darkside themes have a distinctly different flavor, and you've captured that perfectly here.
I'm especially fond of the percussive elements here, with the use of various auxiliary percussion to augment the drums. For instance, the tambourine really adds a layer of drive when it comes in, and I love those snare fills and rhythmic mix-ups at the ends of certain phrases. It's really cool how dynamic the beat is, too, switching up at regular intervals to shift into different gears while keeping the groove intact.
And my man, stellar work with the vocals, integrating the original recordings into your instrumental arrangement so seamlessly, as if it were the official audio! For real, I'm just blown away by how well-mixed and processed this is, especially after listening to the OST version for context. And thanks for putting the lyrics in the description, as I often have trouble making out even the most clearly annunciated words. 😅

Thanks for the uplifting comment, Equalyze:) Twas an interesting experience making this. Syncing the vocals and achieving the variety of sounds here was a pretty tall task. Took trial and error till it was sounding decent lol.
