Thank you for visiting the Just Icelandic Channel.
Greetings from Iceland. Gylfi
This channel is like a free geology flight over Iceland. Good work.
I hiked to the rim of Hverfjall on my trip, was a good workout with fantastic views.
Gratz on that hole in one! Amazing..and the geography is also amazing. Thanks.
Many thanks!
Iceland is so amazing! Thanks for the beautiful videos! ❤
Very nice, Gylfi - have a lovely weekend.
I visited the Hverfjall crater on New Year's Day! one of the most beautiful places I've ever been :-)
Excellent choice 👌
We loved staying in the Myvatn area. We saw the most spectacular aurora from Vogafjos, our accommodation while we were there. Very interesting area.
Beautiful, informative and fun, as always, Gylfi! 😀👌🏼💖
Thank you for this informative video. It is so nice to be able to see other places around your beautiful country.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love your humour !!! (5:23 ...although poor bad golfers may feel a little hurt)
I’m completely in awe of the beauty of your country, thank you so much for sharing this with us.
My pleasure 😊
Thank you for yet another excellent video. Your footage is fantastic, and your narrations are so calming yet informative. Iceland is certainly the most amazing and beautiful place I've ever been.
Beautiful scenery, and wow, you're right on how the landscape really pops with a bit of snow! Excellent video! I can't wait to see it in person in September and get some of my own content of the area!
Also love the joke about making a hole in one lol
Myvatn, the most amazing place for me in Iceland! And the swiming pool there is great.
I should be there again in a few weeks! 🙂
Welcome back :)
Amazing what the Earth comes up with! Thanks, Gylfi.
This region is really something Alex :) very much alive

This film really should win a prize, capturing and allowing us to see this fascinating, strange and absolutely beautiful area. Those steam vents by the lake 😮 the craters and 😊then streaked by snow 😮 the lush autumn colours of the mosses. Outstanding Gilfi !! Thank you for letting us see the land of your ancestors. ❤
Beautiful footage Gylfi, a treat to see your country through your eyes. Thank you. 😊
My pleasure 😊
It’s quite evident in all your videos how much you love your beautiful Country! I never seen anything so amazing before I started learning about Iceland ❤. And I think you do more for Tourism than anyone else. You show such beauty and contrasts and point out places not advertised elsewhere. Since I’m unable to travel to your beautiful country, I thank you for such amazing videography. Looking forward to your next upload.
Gylif, you sir are gift! Thanks for helping me understand so much regarding the geology of Iceland.
Happy to help :)
🤗🙏🫶🏽🇦🇺you’re in a land of such beauty and intrigue, fascinating !
Thanks ! 👀forward ❤❤
The explosion craters are so perfectly formed, and I always thought they were all volcanic too. This is why we need you, to explain it all
to us :o)
Thank you for the excellent explanation of why this area looks the way it does.
My pleasure!
Thank you for the content (again). Im still in poverty, but future seems to be a bit brighter now, so who knows that my future Iceland trip is about get nearer. I hope to sped a month or so when I manage to afford any more than daily bread.
Best greetings from the land of the thousands of lakes; Finland.

Well Gylfi...I can only say that this area is stunning...such a wealth of geological features and every different type has their own history and cause...thank you my friend, from Scotland 😃🌠
I am so excited to be going to Iceland in February. Your videos have inspired me..
I can't wait..
Thank you!!!
Welcome to Iceland :)
@@JustIcelandic thank you. I arrive on 9th February. 3 nights
Amazing history about the craters.
Amazing scenery, filming and narration.
Thank you
😎😎😎👍👍👍
Thank you too 👍
There are several channels that have focused a lot of time in Iceland and the volcanic activity there,,, but I am so glad that I found this one!! Clear and precise explanations that are easy to understand, and so many visually stunning videos too! The before and after videos are a requirement when dealing with volcanoes, in my opinion!
Everyone gets a volcanology lesson, a sightseeing tour, and sometimes a day in the life from someone that calls Iceland home! I also get a little chuckle from time to time,,, wondering about things like,, are there any short or easy to pronounce words in the local language?? I can't help but think, how many times I would have been held back in school, if I was a student there?? I feel like Homer Simpson right now! Lol. 😮😢😂😂😊
P.S. Thank you for making our days better!
Many thanks :) and not, there are not many simple words in Icelandic when it comes to volcanoes 😊 always welcome 😊
Just… wow. ❤
Absolutely gorgeous thank Gykfi 🏌nooo I missed ⛳
Welcome :)
As always wonderful footage and commentary!!
Great job!💪🏻😎👍🏻
Thank you so much 👍
Gylfi, this is one of my favorite videos now! I love this part of Iceland so much! Been here last year and did a round walk on top of Hverfjall. That crater and all the nature sarounding it is just amazing. Thank you for this special video!
Planning a trip to Iceland in October, Gylif your presentations give me so much to look forward to. So excited.
Wonderful! Welcome to Iceland :)
beautiful snowy landscape
Always appreciate you sharing unique facets of your homeland, I will come back and visit soon!
Welcome back :)
I have OFTEN wondered about the origin of these lanscape feature, thanks so much for this! When I flew my drone around Lake Myvatn, I wasn't able to get the expansive views that you show here. Very nice!
Þetta eru frábær myndbönd. Virkilega vel gert og fróðlegt. Takk, takk. ❤
Takk kærlega Einar og vertu ávallt velkominn :)
Had to pleasure to visit earlier this month. Can’t wait to go again. ❤
Welcome back!
This is like a fairytale landscape! These colors are unique. It is as always, joyful to watch your footage, Gylfi. Thank you so very much!
Many thanks!
The car for scale of the Golf hole is super. The colours of your country are so amazing. And thanks a lot for sharing all the information about the features we've seen.💝
Many thanks for watching :)
Hverfjall, Herðubreið, Askja… these are my top 3 places to visit if I ever make it to Iceland, I know the coast and especially south coast and southwest corner seem to be most popular but the northeast-ish highlands are where it’s at if you ask me. Askja especially now that it’s going to be shaking things up, Herðubrieð and Hverjall though look absolutely spectacular from all the photos and video I’ve seen, the size of Hverfjall alone especially in contrast to the small town nearby, just breathtaking. I hope I see all of them in person some day, but until then thank you for your channel so I can go on virtual tours!
Always enjoy your videos, especially in 4K. Thank you. Would love to see them in HDR some day.
Beautiful video and geological explanation!!! 😊
Thank you
Glad you liked it!
Fantastic work here! Thanks for documenting and posting from your area. Keep it up!
Much appreciated:) More soon....
Nice pictures like you always show to us. It´s one of the most sympathic channels on YT.
Thank you Gylfi for this informative and beautiful video.
Glad it was helpful!
Beautiful! That's my new desktop wallpaper sorted out. Thanks, Gylfi.
Wonderful!
👍😁🍀Thank you.
👍
Thanks again Gylfi. As usual, amazing content! :-) Also 'as usual', it makes me smile to experience your presentation. This (happily)ignorant American likes to compare the spelling to your pronunciation.
Very spectacular & very well filmed. Thanks for posting.
Many thanks 👍
wonderful video gylfi and fantastic scenery
thanks and best wishes
Many thanks
Another exceptional video with such beautiful views - always a delight to watch your video's Gylfi 😃
Many thanks!
Stunning scenery. Thank you for another great perspective of Iceland 🙏
Many thanks!
A sumptuous joy to watch and a geology lesson as well. What can I say? 👏👏👏 may I add this snippet: a deep mantle sourced volcanic plume is the main reason why Iceland isn't 3000-4000m under the sea.
Thanks for sharing :)
Потрясающие снимки! Спасибо! Хочу побывать в этом районе Исландии. Миватн.
Welcome to Iceland :)
A new golfing destination!!! 😎🤣
😂😅😂
You'll need some big golf balls. ⛳😂🤣😂
Thanks Gylfi ! I guess you forgot to put the flag back in the golf hole at the end. Have a good weekend, cheers, Bart
Cheers Bart, I have to make a flag for the hole :)
The formations and craters are wonderful to see. Thanks for the video Gylfi. Love that golf course. You might be interested to note that the lake that is by my town is actually the caldera of a dormant volcano. Sending you best wishes and kind Regards from NZ.
well done, i love your videos. thank you. i once had amazing icelandic dream, it turned into tropics and it had the most amazing colors and vibes.. the icelandinc horses and girafes were sharing beautiful beach with me..
Wow ! Thank you so much for this video. The scenery is awesome .Natural can sometimes be very beautiful but brutal at the same time . Watching from England . Stay safe
Glad you enjoyed it and greetings to England :)
Your work is always interesting and very educational. Capturing these views of your wonderful country is always a pleasure to watch. Thank you
Thank you so much 😀
Another beautiful & informative video of the interior of your beautiful country. Thanks, Gylfi
My pleasure!
Thank you, Gylfi, for another amazing video. It is good to see other parts of Iceland that get less attention.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hole in one, so droll. The scenery is epic where ever you go.
Welcome :)
Wowzers Gylfi, that's really fascinating. Thank you! 😊
Iceland has many unique and beautiful geologic features. That hole-in-one can't be missed 😂
👍
The colours! 😮 ✨
Welcome :)
Absolutely love this area. I've been there 5 times now and there's always something more to find. That climb up to the top of Hverfjall is very rewarding and Dimmuborgir at sunset is just magical. It's a good hopping off point for tours to Askja as well. Oh and imo the Nature Baths are way better than Blue Lagoon and better value for money too ;)
I love your wry humor. Beautiful videography as always. Takk fyrir
Thank you very much!
Love your humour.... hole in one 🤣🤣🤣
I love the comment about the hole in one! 😁
🏑
Fantastic footage and commentary. Thank you for sharing this!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love the colours there wr one point...grey, white, orange and green...sets my embroiderer's imagination spinning... fabulous textures with the colours....
Thanks so much 😊
An absolutely awesome view, beautiful
Thanks for visiting
Thanks Gylfi. A comment is a small effort to nudge the algo to help promote your work.
Thanks for that!
Good evening Gylfi,
Greetings from the Netherlands.
What a magnificent landscape. Lucky you to have all these wonderful landscapers at your doorstep.
My country is quite boring compared to Iceland, flat as a pancake apart from some hills in the southeast.
Stay safe.
I have to admit that when i'm traveling abroad, it's hard to impress me :)
As far as landscape is concerned, yes. But on the other hand, Netherlands have quite a few beautiful old towns, which Iceland quite definitely lacks. I mean, some 250 years ago, Reykjavík had 200 inhabitants and the next two settlements, namely the bishop sees, about 100 each. And the number of stone buildings more than 200 years old you can probably count on your fingers; most buildings were turf huts and then a handful of wooden houses for the Danish merchants.
Let's just say, a country without volcanoes and steep slopes and hot springs can still have some other rather nice stuff to look at 🙂
@ Switzerland and especially Norway are very beautiful but of course I’ve never visited Iceland.
@ the Netherlands has more beauty on the cultural side and Iceland more on the raw nature side you mean.
@@palantir135 Well, Iceland has a lot of cultural beauty as well, but then in literature, not so much in architecture. But as regards architecture, in my view the Netherlands easily beat Iceland. (I like old brick houses and grachten.) It's also a nice place for cycling of canoeing along water with reeds and windmills and flowers - not breathtaking and spectacular, but still beautiful in a quiet sort of way.
And yes of course as far as raw landscape is concerned, Iceland obviously beats the Netherlands. The one bit of landscape drama in the Netherland is the threat of storm surges...
In a way, Iceland and (parts of) the Netherlands both "should" be sea floor and are just land by queer coincidence, Iceland being essentially a part of the mid-ocean ridge that piled up beyond sea level thanks to the hotspot, and the Netherlands being proteced artificially against the sea.
Exciting! ❤
Welcome :)
Well be able to see further with these changing horizons.
Great video!❤ Great work. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
Still laughing about golf reference. Nature is perfect! Beautiful job!
👍 thanks
THANK YOU AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL..........🤩👍🙏>>>💚
Thank you too
The certain hole-in-one I really like! 😅👏
Welcome to play Golf in Iceland :)
The power beneath this island is just so difficult to conceptualise, and the same is true of the landscapes.
Thank you 🤗
You’re welcome 😊
Very good video! I learned a lot! Thank you.
Glad to hear it!
Beautiful scenery.
Thanks G for the explanations.
Di…Cumbria.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
On my first stay in Iceland I went up on the top. Beautiful view all around.. I wanted to walk around it but there was a strong strong wind and I went down again. After that I visited the Skútustaðagígar craters as well. Before this visit I didn't know that pseudocraters exist
Hi G. Lovely vid as alleyways.
Thank you! Cheers!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Awesome !
Thanks!
Amazing! 🌟
Thanks! 😄
I'll be back in Akureyri again in a week. Can't wait, hopefully the roads to Myvatn will be clear of snow 👍
Since the tunnels, it's almost always easy to get there :) and welcome to the north 👍
Love the lake and surroundings. At Lava field Dimmuborgir at could stand on both teutonic plates (Euroasian and the Atlantic! Amazing). Most impressive volcanic landscape
Wow, earth sneezing!
That's Iceland :)
I love the bit at the end with the worse golfer! 🤣🤣🤣
They still have this hope for a hole in one :)
@JustIcelandic 🤣
That erea is one great geological playground! :-)
We agree!
