- After having played reworked orisa extensively on the overwatch 2 alpha,
I can say with certainty that new orisa is quite literally built different. BattleCattle is in full throttle.

I like how orisa has changed from “No i need another sheild tank to be viable” to “Your balls, hand them over…”
With that javelin it's more like "Your balls, on the skewer..."
More like "your balls, swing them violently..."
Doom a tank, Orisa with javlin and juggle and sombra infinite invs where she can hack while invs and so on. They better be doing a third rework on Symmetra because her kit is just so absurdly nerfed into the ground and designed bad. I mean look at this, is she seriously supposed to walk up into melee range still and dps for 2.5 seconds to charge up her primary for it to be usable and with only 1 enemy tank now too.... and still be a dps stuck with a tank/support ult... and her whole kit that literally was nerfed across the board around 20% or more when she was already meh and not even meta for that one week they fixed her primary lol...

@@noahjordan6761 Oh they'll change her. They'll probably nerf her again for OW2. For sure remove slow from turrets knowing Blizzard at the very least.
Now Orisa can't get body blocked, instead she just bodies everyone.

@@walterclements_ there have been points in the meta where I personally think she's fun with her current kit, she's designed for bunker but I've played her really brawly before and that's where she's fun, glad they seem to realize that with these changes

She’s always been fun af, as long as you don’t play her bunker. She has alot of utility, it’s just the players who underestimate her.
orisa is making me feel like tanks are going to be the most popular role by the sheer amount of dueling power and power fantasy of being an actual tank instead of just a shield bot.
The tanks deserve this so much

@@brandenr5937 unless they've massively nerfed CCS all around Reinhardts gone as a rein main I think I'm going to swap to orisa she has built in fortified for her ult fortified as an ability and a dm
@@brandenr5937 That's not enough. This is no longer a game where you hide behind the shields. I think Rein needs a buff of some sort. Then maybe he'd be good with Bastion + Lucio.

this version of orisa looks like it actualy delivers on the back story of "a robot made to counter doomfist in universe" between while fortafy fit this before it was prety much the only thing that did, now the weapon being more of a close range shreader, the javlin blocking short charges and the spin giving move speed. new orisa looks like she fits the classic cavelery roll of fast tip of the spear type of engager.
This is what I thought too, she canonically fights and stalemates doomfist and I didn’t think orisa who was basically exactly the same as the omnics doomfist destroyed earlier with more abilities, could’ve done it. The abilities aren’t that useful against him. Supercharge doesn’t do much and he could easily destroy it, he could just walk through her shield, halt is situational, only fortify would actually help. Her new abilities actually seem like she could fight a brawler like doomfist

I used to play a bunch of Orisa when I started with overwatch because she was simple and useful for the team. She was my main for a whilez but then I stopped playing her after she got kinda boring for me. I am so happy she got a rework and looks so fun now, can't wait to main her again :)

The potential utility for this seems so high. The fast pace style of just face tanking everything reminds me playing Quake3. Hopefully I get to play this version of Orisa before the nerf hammer decimates all the fun.

Best way she can satisfy with her protection is forget sitting behind the shield and womanhandle the threat with javelins.

Really love the new kits for Orisa and Doomfist. Doomfist fits his lore now. He is supposed to be an imposing menace, like Marvel's Kingpin. Orisa, with the javelin toss and spin, fits her centaur design much better than her previous abilities.

This is honestly a great work around since they made shields in OW1 damn-near useless.
Best way to fix the shield issue is to get rid of em and give Tanks GOOD abilities that won't make or break a game by lowering or upping the numbers.
Which I'm glad they did.
Shields in OW1 are almost mandatory not useless lmao. prisa was nearly useless when she hasn't a good partner to synergies with

Orissa was my main from start until I stopped playing the game, seeing her being a damage dealing tank instead of a shielding tank feels weird, but I could get used to that maybe
I've got to say I really love this ability. It's like a skill shot ability similar to hook but in a very different but just as rewarding way.
