Before i bought the maxspect razor 300 i searched for the recurve, but to my regret it was out of production allready😢. I´d love to see recurve II in the market , i´d buy one instantly, even if i´d be the first one to try it out . Btw, i iwn a ethereal also, it rocks!!!
I run a razer 200W on my Red Sea Reefer XL 300 with LPS. This light is amazing: easy to set up, perfectly powered for LPS and softies, with some sps on the upper levels of rockwork. I love the 420nm channel, and I subscribe to the theory of corals developing fluorescence under near-UV light. I have seen several LPS corals become noticably more fluorescent over a period of around 3 months.
I have a RSX 200w above my 100 gallon mixed reef (some SPS at the top of the rock work)and I am very pleased with it. pretty nice coral growth. It's my first light on my first reef tank so I didn't go for the more expensive options and I'm glad I didn't 🙂 Love the Gyre as well!
I still run both the Gen 1 Maxspect Razors (first LED switchover from MH) and Recurves. I like the modular designs and the ease of DIY repair with available parts. I have grown years of SPS with them both yet they were economical fixtures. At the time CoralVue provided top notch service support as well.
I just bought 2 jumps yesterday and the diffusers. Excited to get it set up. I do also have 3 fluval marine land lights. So if the blue isnt stong enough i can add the fluvels on to increase the blue :)
Love my Maxspect lights I have a Maxspect Nano 60watt and the RSX 300. Insanely good coral growth with both and love the colour. Plus such good value for money! The Maxspect jump light at my lfs is growing Acropora with the most beautiful rainbow colours, I think those lights are really underrated. Another great led.
A light fixture with angled fill lights on the front and back with a single, more powerful (sun) light in the middle that travels back and forth on an integrated track (like on a rail) would prevent hot spots, and have a cloud covering effect, while still allowing the corals to get higher par with low shadowing. If this was to be made in 2 feet sections that could be connected, then it could save cables and allow for upgrading over time. I created a custom setup like this over a 6 feet tank. Having a single "sun" light in the middle that travels back and forth saves me space, money, and the number of fixtures with no hot spots.
Create a 2 feet light that can be butted together over time with a power supply that can be extended as well. This way, everything is 2 feet, but I can go from a 2 feet tank to a 4 feet tank to a 6 feet tank over time. Obviously there would have to be a limit, but having an upgradable light that can go from 2 feet up to 6 feet over time would be great. This also means the supplier only has to stock 1 light length.
I would like to see a better in depth revue on all maxspect lighting from BRSTV. I feel like they are just now saying what jake adams said 2 years ago, the jumps are awesome and maxspect has fantastic blues. So review them properly and show us how to use them. More people will have more success which is good for everyone. Would like to see a longer/higher mounting option for the jumps to help combat hot spots. They have some serious punch for only 65 watts. And I would love to see a new recurve or an add on to the razor for fill lights, I feel like the structure is there. An all in one affordable option to cover fill light seems like a no brainer
Perhaps Maxspect as an innovative company could make a light fixture that has a shape of a rectangular ring to cut down centre hotspots. You already have similar idea in most of your fixtures but it most likely could be improved. As conventional light fixtures create hot spots in the middle due to overlapping light beams from nearby light sources spreading them a little further apart could solve this problem. In other words taking the light sources away from the centre and scattering them closer to the outer edges in a ring form or rectangular ring form as tanks tend not to be round. Most likely only one or two sizes would be neaded to cover most tank sizes and shapes.
Its so insane to me that not more company have a mount when buying their light. Like if I want a Radion here in norway I need to first buy the fixture at 570 dollars then for mounting it it cost 160. So the light will end up at 730 dollars. Thats just crazy to me that a mount can cost that much.
They dont have enough brand recognition to ask the prices they do on their products....when they first came around i thought awesome...a reef company that wants to make cheaper equipment but still decent quality more accessible to consumers....but over the years I get this vibe that its still a mediocre product with a hefty price tag....send some freebies to me ....I have a brick and mortor shop and would love to experience the brand but also give them a shake down and maybe eat my words....

@@Razgriz218 also using the gyres, I love the flow they give over the top and the diffuse flow in between the rock work.
I am planning on purchasing 2 Jumps Blue, does these ones need a router to control thru the app or do they connect via Bluetooth to the cellphone?
Not bluetooth but you connect directly to the unit via wifi

A new recurve would be cool but I would make it so you can move the main pucks to where you want them
