Today i will be showing how i painted the new helmet for a South African rider named Sam Lochoff who is racing in the United States.

Great to see your vids again. For the Arai decal/adhesive, what type of product is that?
thank you for your comment! those are just stickers with masking on top of it :) this way, the sticker is on the base of the helmet and every layer of paint will rise up to the sticker.

How do you pull of the top long air vents??!

Thank you very much for your comment!. Its quite a long story and i explained a bit in my very first video. But starting in this business is not that easy to get to that point where you can really live of it. The advice i can give for now is, just start making helmet designs. Get your idea’s and work out there. Social media makes it more easy nowadays and just do not let anybody stop you! I have had people laughed at me for my work or idea’s (haha what are you thinking? How will you make a living of this? This is not a real job! Etc) i even got rejected from the school of design and art. This was around the same time as i started my business.
Its a long road but if your designs are “good” and the quality is good, it will go around. Please feel free to ask more if you would like to know something.
SLam Designer is it worth spending money on high end painting kit or is it possible to do on a budget and still get a good end product?, thanks a lot for the advice
Well, thats a good question. Some things you can start budget but some not. If you start this, i would recommend to use paint of brands like Auto Air Colors or Custom Creatives. Not cheap but also not that expensive. Just start out with like max 5 colors. We have use Standox but thats more expensive. For your airbrush, i started with a harder and steenbeck. Good quality and not as expensive as Sata or Devilbiss. You can buy small compressors which are good for the airbrush (guns). For making the lines, you can use colad fine line tape. If you would like to make stencils, you can start with a Silhouette Cameo plotter. This is very easy to use and the cheapest solution for making stencils.

What did you use to reattach the external pieces? 3M tape or some sort it looks like?
Dubble sided tape from Arai :)
Buddy, how in gods name did you remove that visor latch? I have a quantum x and there is an immovable pin with a securing washer under the cushion on the inside of the helmet, was yours similar?

Love your artwork bro, I wish one day you can work on jet helmet or open Face type helmets like Shoei J force or Arai Ram type, that'll be cool , because I bet no one haven't make video on customizing jet helmet type, btw do you accept order, I have an accident and scratch small part, I would like to repair by using decals, anyway great video bro 🤘🤘
